I have been to the facility five or so times. Upon every visit the 'tank' rooms are all well kept and clean. Since the inception of the business around 4 or so years ago, so much of the implementation has been thoughtful and clever; including additions such as artwork, classes, the sauna, and more float room themes (which are a cool sight to see for the first time). The owner is friendly and welcoming. He and his workers are easy going and enjoy talking about all kinds of philosophical topics depending on how 'deep' the customers want to go in conversation after their floats in the main room. Floating is an experience anyone can enjoy. There are no prerequisites for floating. "Come as you are, as you were" and when your float is over you will 100% feel more relaxed and refreshed as long as you welcome the epsom salt water to set you on the surface like a lily pad in a pond. You can float with sounds (default or your choice), lights, both, or complete darkness. Young, old, in between; it doesn't matter. Go to float and experience it for yourself. I wish I could give 10 stars. The facility is impeccable and way better than the wannabe the other float centers that have sprung up. They are not even close to this level. The experience is outstanding from the beginning. When you walk in you are warmly greeted, given a tour and all of your questions are answered. The float itself is AMAZING!! Float has become my sanctuary. I have floated there 7-8 times and it is worth every second of the 8 hr drive. I have made it my personal mission to introduce as many people to this wonderful facility as possible. Tom and his staff are excellent hosts and the entire facility fosters relaxation and reflection. I have floated in the coffin-style tanks before and there is no comparison. These are unique to Float and better termed isolation pools/rooms rather than tanks. I was very excited to try my first float experience ever, I signed up for a membership 2+ weeks ago and scheduled a float. Now I understand and respect a 24hr cancellation policy however I woke up feeling very stuff, and I assume it is allergies but when I called to ask if I could reschedule I was told that there would be a $30 charge, I then said never mind I will come in and reiterated that it's probably just my allergies. The man I was speaking with then said I was not to come in as I said I felt unwell. Long story short their website says if your sick you can reschedule and mentions no additional charge so I was then no longer interested in being a member and cancelled my membership. I was told I was to receive a refund and there was no mention that I would still be charged $30, which I was and the refund as of now in my bank account says $0.00. The man I spoke with was rude and all but told me if I can't spend an additional $30 to reschedule I'm not "they're type of client" I will definitely not be returning and will try another Float Spa that's only an extra 7 mins of a drive....super disappointed. read more

Very cool experience. Staff was super friendly and chill. They explained what to do and let me and my wife stay in an extra 15 minutes on a 60 minute session. I never thought I would float in this water but it really does work. I actually fell asleep and was super relaxed. I recommend using wax in your ears like we did since that part will be submerged. Overall, a unique experience that made me weightless for and hour and made me relax. Pretty cool. I'll go back. read more

This was my fourth time floating but Ive been to different facilities and finally feel that I have found "the one". This place was mellow when I first walked in, clean and the staff was very accommodating. After my relaxing float, I enjoyed a cup of tea and didn't feel rushed at all. Ok a coworker told me about this place and I said let me try it, so two days later I'm here! At first I was like this is a waste of my time and money and than I found myself feeling good but didn't know why. I felt a little emotional but nothing negative or positive was on my mind. My husband drove me home and I needed to rest a little more, I guess my mind and body wasn't ready to get out the float room. I'm so glad I did this I have another appointment for my husband and I. Where do I start? We walked in for a couples float in the zen tank today. We both were new floaters and didn't know what to expect. Tom greeted us. He is the kindest and most genunine man I have ever met. We were nervous but he put us right at ease. We chatted for a bit and got a tour of the facility. He showed us how to operate the tank and what we could expect. I ended up not being able to float so I left the tank and my husband enjoyed his 90 minute float. Tom saw that I wasn't able to go in the tank, but fear not- he had a plan. He set me up in the sauna with a cold water shower and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of being there. Some nice warm tea after my husband and I were both finished with the experience and some time to decompress and reflect. I can truly say 100% we will be back! We loved everything and Tom was the best. As parents to two young kids, this was exactly the peace we needed. Thank you for everything. I can't wait to come back! read more

I've been to 3 Float centers throughout my trials with the practice and I must say, this is my Goto. I recently finished my 3rd float here and must say, although my rough float due to feeling ill mid way, it was my most pleasurable visits to any facility. Due to a pretty rough headache, I couldn't make the full 90 minute session, and when Tom heard this he was quick to ensure that I wouldn't be costed for this float. I can't thank him enough, as floating is something near and dear to me and this made even one of the least soothing floats (again, because of the headache, NOT the facility) a pleasant one. Just my notes on their location: Best tanks I've ever used (full room will never let me be in a pod again) The cleanest facility to date, with roomy outer chambers for all their tanks. The whole staff is amazing, I was even given ibuprofen for my head to make the rush hour traffic a bit more bearable. Last, if you're reading this and have never floated before, book one today. This place is absolutely incredible!!! I got a gift certificate as a birthday/baby shower gift and I could go on for days on how wonderful my experience was!!! I was greeted once I walked in. Give a quick tour, guided to my room where they give you specific instructions and then off you float!!! I couldn't understand how my 8 month belly with twins would float but we did!!! It's amazing to feel weightless ESPECIALLY pregnant!!! I suggest everyone to get mommy to be a gift like this it's remarkable!!!! My suggestion, they mention there are ear plugs, USE THEM!!! I had to carefully get out and get them within 10 min of floating (and I think I may have gotten an ear infection from whatever water did get in my ear), but other than that, it's simply amazing!!! And the owners are incredible!!! You truly can feel the passion they have for this business!!! read more

Floating is perhaps the most relaxing thing that I have ever done. It's hard to describe the physical relief, the mental clarity, and spiritual stimulation that comes with just an hour in the tank. Last night was my second time. I first floated to check it out and support my wife who is using the tanks for stress relief due to her MS. It's working for her and we are fortunate to have found Float. The proprietor Tom is knowledgeable about the science and history of sensory deprivation, he's inviting and a good listener. I have floated in other parts of the world and I have to say the Float SNJ facility is top tier hands down. In the past I have always floated in capsules so I was a bit hesitant that I would be floating in a pool, I grew comfortable with the enclosed space in the capsule. But I'm glad I tried this place out. I absolutely love coming here. The Zen room is my pick and I absolutely love it. This is my third experience at Float SNJ. Immediately after walking in I feel relaxed and at home and walking out I feel relieved mentally and physically. The place is very inviting, friendly, and charming. My son is a high school athlete. I thought it would be great to rejuvenate the body after a demanding season. He loved it. He described the experience as "close to death" meaning he was unaware of his body - no pain, discomfort, nor stress from his cheeks down to his toes. He described only being aware of breathing and heartbeat. He already wants to go next weej - without music this team. I waited for him in a calming lobby area. Absolutely amazing. The staff was awesome about explaining everything and she seemed so passionate about her business. The float was amazing, I've never been so relaxed in my life. I typically have a very difficult time turning my mind off and I was able to just turn my mind off and enjoy the sensation of floating. I have severe chronic pain and it really helped my pain. I was virtually pain free while floating and have been pretty low pain all day which is a HUGE change from normal and such an amazing bonus. The facility was clean and beautiful. There were a lot of thoughtful touches like moisturizer, a blow drier, and different hair products for when you're finished. I would 100% recommend this to everyone! read more

This place is a sanctuary. I facebooked and called Float asking if they happened to have any cancellations for tonight and while they didn't at that time, they contacted me a few hours later saying someone hadn't shown up leaving one pool open. My great luck! The facilities including the float pool are gorgeous and immaculate. The space is thoughtful down to the tiny details like a reflection book in the post-float room and tiger balm to open up the nasal passages. Tom, the owner, is a lovely soul and really facilitated my post-float experience with some great consciousness conversation. I'm thrilled to know they are currently renovating the space next door to add two more float pools. I can't wait to return. read more

Had my first float last night and it was amazing! My friend got me a certificate for Christmas and it was the perfect gift. I was in the Galaxy room and I was in love! Weightlessness with no sound and no light is really something you have to experience. I was in for 60 min and when I came out, I felt refreshed and calm. I'd never floated before, but when my brother told me about his experience, I immediately knew this was something I would like. He got me a gift certificate, and I just went! The entrance area is very nice, with dim lights, comfy chairs, and nice music. The lady who was working showed me the layout of the place and gave me some tips because it was my first time. The individual rooms were luxurious and spacious. The floating tank was more like a room, not a tank. I never felt claustrophobic. I spent the first 20 minutes intellectualizing the experience. Thinking about where the walls were, checking to see if I was going to bounce off a wall, remembering to relax my neck and let the water support my head, wondering about the water on my face (beads of sweat or drips off the ceiling?) After about 20 minutes, I went deeper into relaxation and forgot to feel the water line on my skin. I began to feel as if my limbs were enveloped in warm thickness. I began to think dreamlike thoughts, random memories, things I hadn't thought of in years, plans for the future, etc. At moments I thought intellectually and was aware of the nuances of my deeper level of relaxation. At other moments, I would twitch and realize that I'd been almost asleep. At other moments, I'd "see" a collage of northern lights that pulsed in time with my breath, images of cartoon elephants lumbering across outer space, and palm fronts caressing my arms as I floated in a tropical rain forest. When the tibetian chimes sounded to gently rouse me, I felt a return to the present. I found the buttons for the lights and was happy they weren't too bright. Then I willed myself to sit up. I felt so heavy. It was strange being affected by gravity again. I got out carefully because you become very slippery from the salt. Then I got a nice hot shower with the soap and shampoo they provide. After dressing, I relaxed in the back sitting room where they have mirrors, hair dryers, drinks, and comfy chairs. It was such a great experience. I am looking forward to going back. They told me that the more times you go, the faster you can reach relaxation, and the deeper you go into it. I used to like this place. They were the only one in the area like it for a while so I really had nothing to compare it to. Recently, I commented something on their Facebook page that they didn't like. They got incredibly nasty and blocked me immediately from commenting anything ever again. All I did was provide a link to a different float place because Float SNJ intends to go members only. This is shady, dishonest,business practicing at best. Many people, myself included, use Facebook to check reviews of businesses and events. Float SNJ's decision to get personally nasty and delete first and ask questions never should show you that they are not promoting a honest picture of their business. I used this place to help deal with a debilitation chronic illness. Glad to see they don't care about their disabled clientele if they do so much as disagree with them. Go elsewhere. Where the tanks are cleaner and the staff is pleasant and not elitist and exclusionary. read more

Wow, I'm surprised at all the wonderful reviews. I called to schedule my appointment today and was insulted by the owner Tom. A friend gave me a gift certificate and I told Tom that I had been somewhat reluctant to book the appointment (having never had never had the experience) because I wondered if I'd be bored. His response was "well, if you don't like spending alone time with yourself, I guess you will be bored." I told him that it was a cheap shot for someone who was being inquisitive about the experience. He then told me that it was his answer every time someone made that statement and that I could come and get a refund. Yeah, great customer service Tom. Way to go!! I think not!!!! read more
