Review of Tayla Spa - Unprofessional and Unauthorized Alteration of Hair
I am sharing my experience to urge potential clients to exercise extreme caution and consider taking their business elsewhere.
I booked a dedicated head spa treatment at Tayla Spa, a service that was meant to focus strictly on hair washing, scalp cleansing, and relaxation. At no point prior to or during the appointment did I request, authorize, or consent to a haircut, trim, hair shaping, or any form of cutting.
Regrettably, during the service, my hair was cut without my permission. The service provider appeared incapable of properly detangling my hair type. Rather than pausing to communicate, exercise professional judgment, or ask how I would prefer the situation handled, she unilaterally decided to cut through my hair. This was a completely separate, unrequested service performed without explicit client consent--a fundamental breach of professional standards.
When I expressed my distress and raised this issue with management, the response was shockingly dismissive. I was simply told that my hair "would grow back" and was offered a nominal $10-off coupon. Offering a minor discount for permanently altering a customer's appearance without authorization shows a complete lack of accountability, empathy, and service quality.
A reputable establishment must always inform clients and obtain clear authorization before performing any irreversible service. Given the total disregard for client consent, lack of technical skill in handling different hair textures, and inadequate customer service, I strongly advise prospective customers to stay far away from Tayla Spa.
