She is located on the upper floor of a chiropractor office. The room is appropriately and calmly decorated to provide good energy. There is little to no sound from the outside and others in the building. She talked to me before the massage to review the information I had provided on the intake form, asked me specifically about my needs, and talked about some of her techniques. During a massage she asked about pressure and my level of comfort with the temperature of the warmed bed. I walked out a new and better person. Her various techniques, ability to read energy and know my needs and focus on problem areas transformed me back to my aligned, energized self. I have gotten massages at five star resorts in Arizona and the Caribbean, at local places here in the South Jersey area, and this is by far one of the best. She wrote down tips and information for products without trying to sell me anything like other spas do. I'll defintely be a regular and I highly recommend.

She proceeded to take me to a frigid room, where she asked "what do you want." I told her I was four months postpartum and wanted a massage preferably laying on my side or back, to which she told me "I am not trained to do massages on the side or back" and stated she had the client face down the entire time. Having had massages done for over 20 years, I have never heard of a masseuse who is hired untrained to perform massages unless the client is solely on the back. Nor have I heard of a spa who books massages without specifying that the masseuse may be unable to do a massage at all if you are unable to lie on your stomach after you inform them you are postnatal from a c section. After I told her I guess I would cancel the massage because she kept shrugging stonefaced while telling me "I just can't do it," she promptly left the room and began gossiping with another masseuse down the hall. I literally had to call out after her "can you at least show me the way out?" given the lack of exit signs in Spavia's dark hallway. Caitlin rolled her eyes and sarcastically asked "you are not going to change into your clothes?" and I told her I needed the locker room. She wordlessly showed me the way before rolling her eyes again and stalking off. Please avoid booking with this woman Caitlyn and Spavia in general. Also, Caitlin came to collect me at 12:59pm (though I could hear her chatting with someone in the hallway well before then) so that my 1:00pm appointment time could start ticking away while she led me to the room, did intake, have me get ready, etc. No waiver or paperwork regarding massage goals was done at all, though it is unlikely she would have reviewed it anyway. I would also avoid this Spavia location for safety reasons.

This isn't a big chain with a flat screen tv in the waiting room, however, from the moment I walked in Laura radiated warmth and comfort. She introduced herself to me and asked a lot of questions to understand what my concerns were and what I needed. She made suggestions yet wasn't pushy or domineering as some of the local competitors tend to be. It was all about my personal comfort. Her studio is clean, relaxing, fragrant and the perfect space in which to get out all of the kinks. I hurt my lower back this week and it not only knocked me out of commission with my regular routine, but it made the rest of my body tight and achy because every muscle was over compensating for my aching back. Laura did such an amazing job on me, I felt like a million bucks after. On a side note, Laura practices Reiki. I am not even going to pretend to know what that is, but she said two things to me about my root & heart chakras that were so spot on that it was actually mind blowing!
