Went during lunch with office team food was trash. Got the fish and chips. Not the fish and the fries where soggy covered in grease absolutely no flavor so bad I couldn't even finish eating it. The rest of the staff had nothing good to say as well, I beleive no one finished their food. People really need to sample their food before it's served and ask yourself would you eat it. read more

the patio ambiance outside is pretty nice. staff is down to earth and friendly. prices are pretty good. mid overall.

My husband, his cousin, and his girlfriend & I all tried to enter flips tonight. My husband & his cousin are African American & I truly feel like we were experiencing discrimination. We just got out of our Uber, didn't even have a chance to get our ID's out for him to check. Him being "John", he wouldn't even look at our ID's. He said to me that "we" had been drinking. I was like yeah, I just exited my Uber, and it's Saturday night at a BAR. But he refused to even let us in the bar. Nobody In our party we out of line, or had drank much. This was truly discrimination. I would NOT recommend this location. #FlipsIsANoGo read more

So we never got to come inside...we were dropped off by a Lyft and upon walking to the door, the doorman "John" stated that 2 of us (in our party of 4) had been drinking, and he couldn't serve us. He did not say they had drank too much, or were drunk, and did not state why he thought that. We stated we just came for food, and we gave no indication that they had been drinking. So we were refused entry for no reason. It's worth nothing that 2 people in the party were African American, not sure if that's why we got the hard time but can't really pinpoint any other reason... read more

First time going to this place ever. We had a wonderful experience. Food was delicious and fast for a Sunday afternoon.

Server was wonderful, place was clean- but...if you are a non-smoker or even hate the smell of the smoke when not smoking-do not come here! They smoke at the bar and it goes everywhere!! Take out might be an option.... read more

You know, I am really impressed with this place overall. I went in not knowing what to expect, and I was pleasantly suprised. I went to meet a friend, and hit up the patio. It had misting fans that were just right so that it cooled, but never dripped on. If you are in the tall tables by the fireplace (which was off, as it was summer), you will be in the line of sun at sundown. If you are going for the patio, I suggest taking your sunglasses. Both times I have been, the service was great. Yesterday it was Chris, the first time the servers name was Bam. You could tell that they both were experienced servers. Never did I feel rushed nor did I need for anything, and both times it was pretty busy. It certainly encouraged me to tip accordingly. Both times I have ordered the grilled shrimp and subbed the rice for extra broccoli. It is great. You get so much broccoli and the shrimp (12 of them) are seasoned and grilled perfectly. It's not horribly expensive either. It is conveniently located, but if you are coming from Arlington and exiting onto 114, get over as soon as you exit. If you miss the turn in by the car deaership you have to turn in by Olive Garden, and drive through 3 parking lots to get there. Oftentimes you are driving by people pulling out at NASCAR speeds, so be safe! read more

Did not like smelling cigarette smoke. Food was average bar food. Not a fan of this place.

Lawrence was our waiter for a huge party tonight of about 25 people. He was awesome & attentive. Super sweet and friendly as well! As if the food isn't already amazing you get service like this too! Flips has always been a favorite place for dinner and to hang out with friends and tonight was no exception. Thank you Lawrence & Flips for making tonight special. read more

The service is great and the food is wonderful! It's so cold here that you can't stand to be in the building! If you want to eat here bring a heavy coat and a blanket even in July! It's miserable sitting in this bar! read more

Flips Patio Grill - If you want to bring a blanket to lunch or dinner this is your place. The food is great and the service is wonderful. But it's freezing! - Burgers Near Me - Grapevine, Texas

Scratch kitchen bar food, great service, cold beers, great atmosphere and smoking allowed in bar area with aerate non-smoking dining area!

Very disappointing experience. The manager sat us on the patio, which was mostly full but given its during COVID, "full" only means about 6 or 7 tables. We sat there for over 10 minutes and were never acknowledged by any other employee, including the manager, who walked past us 3-4 times. She seemed much more interested in visiting with her friends who were also sitting on the patio instead of making sure all customers were taken care of. We finally got tired of waiting so we spent our money elsewhere. And as a side note - the inside absolutely reeks of smoke. You can smell it 6+ feet outside the doors. read more

I came to flips 2 weekends in a row and the manager made things awkward because we used the free appetizer coupon from their email club. I used one the first visit and one of my dining companions signed up and used his on the second visit. When I used my coupon the manager came to the table to tell me that I can't use that same coupon again and it's based off of the honor system because there's no coupon code of any kind. Something I'm aware of, I've never used the same coupon before. On the second visit my table saw the manager speaking with our waiter then the waiter came over and said "my manager said that you can't use the coupon because you used it last time." We explained that it wasn't my same coupon, that my companion was the one who signed up for one this time. The waiter immediately accepted it and said nothing more about it. But the whole thing ended up making everyone feel uncomfortable and a bit unwelcome, as if we're scamming them or something. We've come to flips many times and brought multiple people with us. Some of whom would sign up for the email club and use their own coupon. It's one per person just like anywhere else, so no rules are being broken. We're just using what's offered on their website. I would say if the manager is so worried about it enough to make patrons feel uncomfortable over that he should either try to get the coupon removed from their website or try to get it changed so there's a code on the coupon. I eat out often and have used email club coupons at other restaurants and have never had anyone make an issue over it. I'd understand where the manager was coming from if we were lousy tippers, problematic customers, complainers, or not ordering other food or something, but we always order lots of food & drinks and always tip nicely. We generally love coming here but overall the combined experience was unpleasant enough to make everyone agree that they didn't feel comfortable coming back. One star for the manager but still 5 stars for food and drinks. read more

Flips Patio Grill - Burgers Near Me - Grapevine, Texas

LOCATION: There is construction going on around that area so it was difficult to get there. We passed by the restaurant a few times before finding it. AMBIENCE: Typical chill sports bar type crowd. We were probably the only girls and younger people there except for the staff. We went on a Thursday and found the crowd was older than we expected, probably between 30s to 40s. The room was congested with smoke but thankfully we were seated far enough away from a creepy older men and all the harsh smoke so it was bearable. SERVICE: Very friendly and attentive waitress (don't remember her name) but she was always there to make sure our drinks were full and we were satisfied. FOOD: Ordered a few things off the menu (see pictures) 1. FOOD: Questo Nachos AMOUNT: $ 7 + 1.50 for chicken IMPRESSION: Not worth getting at all. Not enough chicken or cheese 2. FOOD: Fried Pickles AMOUNT: $ 6 IMPRESSION: This is a good appetizer to start off with and share. Not something I have to have, but it does taste good and it's fried. 3. FOOD: Fries with cheese AMOUNT: $ 4.5-8.00 IMPRESSION: Fries, cheese, and ranch. Typical. 4. FOOD: Seven Layer Chocolate Cake with Whipped Cream AMOUNT: $ 7 IMPRESSION: It's decent, not awesome. For $7 I expected more, but oh well. We ordered it with a side of vanilla ice cream and that made it taste a little better. OVERALL: Probably would not visit again. PROS: 1. Happy hour prices 2. Service was great. CONS: 1. Location 2. Food mediocre at best. 3. I reeked of smoke when I left 4. Crowd was too old read more

Not hopping at 11:35 Saturday morning. They still have the patio chairs stacked on the tables as if they don't expect lunchers to enjoy the outdoors today, which happens to be gorgeous and not steamy hot yet. Ordered a $2.50 mimosa (weekend brunch special - they have TONS of drink specials today! Some aren't spectacular but quite a few sound pretty good... I might come back later and sample to get feel for quality and value). Mimosa came out fully mixed, no separate pouring of the champagne & juice for me :/ Also ordered the BLT from their brunch menu section for $7 with the fruit option instead of hash browns. Surprisingly, the sandwich is huge for a brunch portion. I requested the egg over hard, and they nailed it (yes, this version includes a fried egg ). Bacon actually not bad (not a bacon fan these days) - had some meat on it, if that's possible, little fat and wasn't fried into a glass shard. Bread was nicely toasted but underbelly sides were a tad on the soft/soggy side and not as well toasted (at first I thought it was soft from steam condensation as it hit the plate..not so). If ordered again, I'd request a zippy spicy mustard to give it a little punch and make it a tad healthier. Ha! It's a BLT. Baconnn. Fruit bowl was good size and as I'd expect. Just the usual - red grapes, oranges, cantaloupe, honeydew. A blueberry would've been nice since those things are dirt cheap right now. Decent stuff for about $12. Update- fresh flowers in huge cease in ladies room :) read more

The place allows smoking so the first thing you smell when you walk is smoke. This would have been a deal-breaker for me but I was meeting friends. I had the fried Mac and cheese and the bacon wrapped jalapenos.appetisers. I also had the Buffalo chicken sandwich. The buffalo chicken sandwich was average at best. There was not a whole lot of chicken and not much buffalo sauce flavor. And the bread was crumbly like maybe it was old. The bacon wrapped jalapenos were burnt. The fried mac and cheese was really good though. The service was really good and the prices seem to be appropriate. read more

Flips was a FLOP. Claims to be a 2am bar and grill but refused to serve my party when we followed the instructions to sit ourselves away from the crowds inside at a patio table at midnight and asked for a round of drinks. The waiter specifically pointed at me and said I looked too drunk for being red when he neglected to consider the fact that the UV index was 9 the entire day. Highly recommend skipping this establishment and go laser tagging at Main Event Entertainment. read more

It was pretty bad. Walk in and smells like smoke. They have a candle lit... Ordered the black bean burger. Nothing special. The fries however where filled with grease and soggy! UPDATE: check out the screenshot of some loon's response to my original post. I love that she knows she was there that day even though her response was over a year after my review. Also, check the weather on timeanddate.com - it was 88 degrees and not "over 100". Texans know, might as well be fall with that temp...was actually kind of chilly that day. Loren C., if you really work there then you know how smoky it is inside and you know that those doors were designed for the EXACT purpose of aiding ventilation in that bar. THAT IS WHY THEY EXIST, you cotton-headed ninny muggin. You also know that business is down, just like your WiFi always is, and the new Boomerjacks just a few doors down is now home to what used to be all the Flips regs. Lol, I even see the Flips staff there at the bar...Now all you get is out-of-towner hags like the one that sat in the smoking section, next to the convertible doors, bitched about it being smoky and that the CONVERTIBLE doors were doing their job. Managements decision to cater to the one-time visitors instead of regulars is why you lose...again. A little warmth is surely better for you than the carcinogenic fumes you're hotboxing in the bar anyway, buttercup. If you were working that day (which cheers to a great memory a year and a month later BTW!) then you must've been the one who served the hag with a small bill and tip while our fav server reaped the rewards of our larger, TX sized contributions. That's all, I will approve your message now for the whole world to see. Hey everyone! This is why we go to Boomerjacks now - good WiFi, good service, good atmosphere, WAY better food, a buttload of TVs for sports ball stuffs, and even in 100+ degrees, that open-air patio with al fresco dining and bar is FULL of happy patrons. Drive by both during any day of the week and you tell me what you see! --------------- ORIGINAL (and still true): So I'd give a 5 for our favs: Sara, bearded guy behind the bar, girl who wears tight bun, the chick with super long hair that's a Sag. Like those folks. But seriously, as much as I come here, hold "business" meetings here (2x/week min) I did not anticipate a hag controlling the folding door situation regarding my table right next to it. It's smokey AF and we, as smokers, were being polite to us and to others by cracking the door that is there for that purpose. Our ticket today, $187 before tip - 7 people, drinks and food - apparently is no match to the beast with added layers' $36 tab with a 15% tip (just saw it!) who aggressively approached the cracked FOLDING door situation with us and demanded we close the door - then had her (I'm guessing her son) tell a manager and he, in the most weenie way possible, said he was closing the FOLDING door. Literally, 2 effing inches. There's major A/C just across the room, still smoking, which I told her and the response to my friend "oh so it's all about you". Please. Loyalty my friends, there's apparently no rating for it here. If they continue this path, in the words of McGregor - they are fooked! read more

Don't get to come up here very often but it's good when we do! First time we came her closer when they first opened I don't think the no smoking inside rule was in effect or we were by the patio door in the bar but I could smell cigarette smoke. Not a huge deal given where we were sitting but I could see where it would have been. I think now it's not allowed inside anymore so I don't think it would but we have not sat in the bar in years as I usually have a kid so I wouldn't know for sure. Food is pretty good, my kids actually eat really well when we come. Staff is friendly as well; just usually comes out pretty slow. Not necessarily wait staff fault as it's fairly consistently slow that stuff comes out. Usually wait staff for us we can tell it's back end on how often they are checking in on their sections ... so most of the time it's back end but I'm hoping that it's that foods fresh or just understaffed when we go. read more
