Not sure what was going on but literally every person at the bar was smoking a cigarette and every table had an ash tray on it. Didn't realize smoking was still legal inside a restaurant in Dallas. Okay now this Flips is the bomb! I ate at the other one in alliance area a couple of times and really didn't have a good experience even once, so I was a little reluctant to eat out here. But I was pleasantly surprised! They were very busy due to the stars game but we still got great service, the food was really delicious and overall the experience was just enjoyable. I was traveling to Florida and missed a connection and was stuck at DFW for 14 hours. I ended up at a nearby hotel and walked over to Flip's. I had been dealing with airports and travel for about 19 hours straight. It was a quiet Monday night. I was greeted quickly on entry despite not having someone at the host stand. The server asked about what kind of experience I wanted. They set me inside in a dining area. The service was helpful, taking about the menu and options. I decided on the Prime Burger. I know I was hungry but I must say it was one of the best burgers I can't remember eating a better burger. The meat was perfectly cooked. The toppings were incredible. The blend of flavors was well balanced, the brie cheese and carmelized onions were a special and unique addition. It had been a long frustrating day but good service and a good meal have me something positive ti end the day. We have been to this location a few times but it is hard because the smoking is overwhelming. Well tonight we wanted to go Grapevine because we frequent Fort Worth often. HUGE MISTAKE. Our server was very rude in the beginning. Everyone has bad days so I didn't think too much of it. Well, we love going to Flips on Thursdays because Texas beers and liquor is $4! Can't beat it. So every week we go to Flips and get our $4 tall beers. We received our check and 5 beers was $42.50. It should have only been $20. So we asked the server and she "asked" her manager and they said Flips is different pricing in very location. Okay well we have been to this location twice and receive the $4 beers but this manager just happened to change it. Well we were going to pay and just regret our decision of Grapevine until I was walking out (my husband stayed behind to pay) and our server was laughing and making fun of us to 4 other servers and a manger. I stood there watching them do this. They realized I was there and immediately the manager came up to me and said "can I help you?" Well that was the wrong response. He knew what he did and they were all laughing about it. This place is empty and to sit there and treat people the way they did was disgusting. They don't care about you or your business. I can see some interaction with friends but please I had to go away from my table to find her for a drink and then later interrupted her to get my tab. I'm not sure what was going on tonight, but nothing about our visit was good. We come to this location twice a month and it's usually good. Tonight was not a busy night for them, but we could not get our server to pay any attention to us. We were a table of 6 and it took 45 minutes to get our order. I had ordered 2 sides of mashed potatoes and they came out between cold and lukewarm. I can eat lots of dishes cold, but cold mashed potatoes are just gross. When our server returned with hot potatoes, the dishes were also very hot indicating they had been microwaved. They tasted a little better, but the microwave affected the cheese which wasn't melting right. It took another 12 minutes to get our checks to leave and one lady in our group waited that long for a to go box. I could have come home and microwaved my own leftovers which would have tasted much better and cost nothing! read more

Got berated for being "out of control" for asking to see my friends ID from her wallet left at the table. It is her wallet. Server didn't warn us of last call at 1:30 when last call is actually 1:45. Was forced to wait outside in the cold for our Uber to arrive. Do not recommend. Food is okay, service is complete trash. If I could give 0 stars for service and treatment I would. This only regards to the grapevine one. Would also like to add that l worked here almost 10 years ago and the management when I was there was absolutely amazing. I come here all the time and always have a good times and good service and today I had the WORST EXPERIENCE with Keeley P. She didn't even greet us she Automatically asked for our drinks. When she came and brought the drinks they didn't even taste like the usually do. Keep in mind I order the same drinks EVERYTIME. And I tried to explain to her but she cut me off and just asked what I wanted instead. I just worked a double as a server and this is not acceptable. As a smoker it was cool that there was a smoking section but I can also see that it could be a problem for people who don't smoke. Because as soon as we walk in it's the first thing you smell is the lingering smell of smoke. The food was decent my wings were dry unfortunately. The sauce on them was delicious so it was kind of a 50/50 situation. I also got the bacon cheddar fireball apparently mine just didn't come with any bacon. I told my employee he could choose where we had lunch at today and he chose Flips. I hadn't even heard of it before. I checked out the menu online and they have quite a selection! I expected a short bar menu but they have a lot and a lot of it sounded good. This was just going to be a quick lunch so I was leaning toward the Flips original burger until my team member said he was getting the Twisted Turkey BLT. I read the description and was sold: Smoked turkey topped with swiss cheese, sliced peppered bacon, lettuce, tomato, honey dijon dressing. Served on a pretzel roll. That sounds delicious! We called in the order and they said 15-20 minutes. According to my employee they have a big selection of craft beers and some outdoor seating as well. Sounds like it's worth checking out in person. The Twisted Turkey BLT did not skimp on the meat or toppings and luckily they served the honey Dijon dressing on the side so it didn't get soggy. The dressing is a bit thin so I had to add several layers on but it really adds a lot to this sandwich. The pretzel bun was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, just wonderful. A lot of places screw up a pretzel bun making it hard or chewy but this one was great! I love when my cheese is melted into the meat, I can tell everything was cooked to order and fresh. It was tasty and filling without being heavy. The side of fries was quite generous and they were seasoned well. Great lunch from here! The portion size fit the price tag of $9.25 and was a satisfying meal. It would be nice if they had cheaper options or a half size order of certain things to bring the price tag down but at least the meal was worth it. If you can deliver on your promise, I can pay your price. Definitely interested in trying other options on their menu. I noticed most of their meals offer either fries or chips and looking at the price point I am assuming the chips are house made which interests me as I had a good experience with their quality in this first meal. read more

Went during lunch with office team food was trash. Got the fish and chips. Not the fish and the fries where soggy covered in grease absolutely no flavor so bad I couldn't even finish eating it. The rest of the staff had nothing good to say as well, I beleive no one finished their food. People really need to sample their food before it's served and ask yourself would you eat it. read more

I consider places like this to more more of a "drinks and good time" place first, and food later. My experienced ended up mirroring that expectation. We had an outside table with ebb and flow of happy hour participants, ranging from 4 to probably 12 at the peak. Our servers kept the drinks flowing and the table cleaned off, and they had these GREAT fans with misters that kept us all cool. The misters were very high quality, kept us cool without getting us wet, and in fact, worked so well, that they had turn them off as the sun went down because we were actually getting a little too cool. We did order some food - a friend and I split a burger and fries, but they were fairly average. From a service perspective, though, we told them we were splitting it and they actually split it up for us in the kitchen, saving us the messy trouble. So, for service, good drinks and great atmosphere, we're going with the four stars. If you want to have a good time, this is a good place to do it. read more
