This place is great place to unwind after a long day of work with friends! The staff is great the food and service are outstanding as well!! Sara is amazing and one of the best here!! read more

I had the best service at this location. Sarah the bartender was on it. My glass was always full, food was right and good, and she took the time to talk to me since I was there alone. She is witty and fun to talk to as well!! Definitely go there and ask for her! It's worth it read more

Great place to come with the family and eat some American bar food! It's got some really good surfers and grilled chicken sandwiches! I'm happy they closed in the bar and the restaurant doesn't smell like smoke! read more

Had driven by this many MANY times and never gave it much thought until a friend told me that she loved their fried pickles. It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio so we figured we'd give it a shot. Not sure we'd sit inside because of the smoke, so hopefully the weather stay nice for a while. We were shocked at how good the food was - REALLY good! The burgers were fantastic, the fries were awesome, liked their jalapeno ranch (to dip my fries in) and our server, Holly, was great! We really enjoyed the fried pickle chips and the ranch was tasty. I ordered the Bacon Ranch burger and I loved how the bacon was crumbled. We'll be back soon and I'm sorry I'd missed out before! read more

Watch your credit card statement if you dine at Flips Patio Grill because I was charged extra $20.00 for a tip I did not leave! Will NEVER dine there again! read more

I go to this location fairly often as its easy and central to me and my friends I always get decent service and my food is never wrong-plus Texas Thursday, how can you go wrong? The ONLY thing that i do not like about this place is the smoking. Whenever I tell a friend about this place, I do not mention it because I just want them to try-but unfortunately I have walked in and right back out several times due to the overpowering haze of it. Wish they would take it away since they have a fairly big patio, no need to ruin the inside! read more

Food is pretty good. Atmosphere is great for game watching. It is the most smoke stained nicotine soaked restaurant I've walked into since 1970. Even the the non smoking area reeks, and I'm not remotely sensitive to being around smokers. I thought I would just adjust to it after 15 minutes or so but nope. Not judging. If you smoke or have a high tolerance, come here- it's pretty good food. Wouldn't advise for the rest and especially if you have kiddos. read more

Lauren B needs a raise! We went last night for my boyfriend's birthday and OMFG this girl is a rockstar. she kicked ass all night, she got all of our tabs right and was constantly checking on us to make sure we're good. Probably one of the best servers I have ever had. 10/10 will go back to see her!!! read more

My husband and I had some of our family, who lives in the Grapevine area, meet us at this Flips because we LOVE the one in our area in Ft Worth. We were embarrassed when we walked in the door and the stench of cigarettes met us! Then, our 16 month old granddaughter dropped some cheerios on the floor, that we had brought with us. A waitress, who wasn't even our waitress, showed obvious disapproval, snd started sweeping around the high chair while we were still eating. Then she threw the broom against the wall close to our table! She won't have to worry about that happening again because none of my family will EVER step foot in this Flips again! We'll stick with the Ft Worth location, where the waitresses are nice and no cigarette smoke! read more

Pretty dang good! Highly recommend the Ruben, my bf ordered it but I ate most of it..... teeheeeheee. Also has the French dip, also good. There's so much more on the menu I want to try. The atmosphere on the patio is wonderful and relaxed. The only downside was that it was kind of a pain to get to, if you're not already on the service road. you have to go through 2 hotel parking lots, until you see main event and it's on the right side budding up to the service road. Watch out for potholes. Either way, it's very good and will be returning soon! read more

This is my first time coming back in almost two years. We walked in and was greeted by a friendly yet knowledgeable hostess. She even said god bye and wished us a good night on the way out. I think her name was Kaylee. Service was phenomenal! Sarah took exceptionally good care of us. Came for a quick drink and ended up having 3 and ordering food! The hummus and sliders were awesome. My only observation is the condition of the building. Seems like the only people that care are the employees. Why are there holes in the ceiling and the walls coming apart? Wish they cared about their building like the staff cares about their guests. read more

Great place if you like a stale bar atmosphere that reeks of cigarette smoke, and grease-soaked mediocre food that comes out cold, and is horribly overpriced. Update: Both my friend and I experienced pretty severe gastrointestinal distress within about 30 minutes of leaving the restaurant. read more

Came in hoping to sit on the patio even though it's a little chilly but they have zero heaters and it's smoking inside. Turned around and left immediately . For a "patio" grill they do not cater to the patio at all. read more

The pungent smell of cigarette smoke permeated the dinning area from the bar. Our waitress had an attitude but the burger and fries were pretty decent. If it wasn't for the lack of containing the cigarette smoke with a better containment system for the bar I would of given this place three stars. read more

I personally got to experience this 5 star restaurant (in my book) first hand this past week! I turned 21 years old Monday, June 9th, and wanted to celebrate my birthday at Flip's Patio Grill. It has a convenient location, just off the service road and minutes from any major town in the DFW metroplex. The staff there were super friendly, always smiling and VERY down to earth and inviting. I felt welcome and relaxed the whole time I was there! There was not one lazy waitperson in that whole building! They were on top of everything (making me feel on top of the world)! The planning of my party there was extremely easy and painless and quite refreshing to know that everything was available and free for my special occasion. I had quite a large party in the party room and I can't begin to explain how pleased I am with everyone who helped to make my 21st birthday a special memory for my family, friends, and myself. One thing I remembered the most is they always kept glasses full! I LOVE THAT! I don't know about you, but when my glass is empty and I'm purposely making slurping noises in my straw as an annoying reminder that I'm thirsty and need a refill, it's nice to know that at Flip's, empty glasses aren't an issue! A second positive defining moment for me is, the bar area is up and away from the general eating area. Sometimes, the bar is right there by the door (like at Chili's) and you are literally overwhelmed by the smoky environment. At Flip's, my party guests as well as their dinner guests weren't welcomed with a nice puff of cancer upon walking in the door. Thank you for sparing me the smoke out experience Flip's! A third positive experience at this wonderful restaurant is the mouthwatering food they served! I personally prefer the 8 oz. sirloin steak served with the best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten at a restaurant, and steamed broccoli. They also serve grilled burgers and sandwhiches and all sorts of other American grilled food, and all at a reasonably affordable price too! If I had to pick only one restaurant to eat at for the rest of my life, Flip's would be it, because frankly, this restaurant exceeded my expectations and also helped create a lasting memory for me that I will treasure forever. Thank You Flip's Patio Grill to your management, waitstaff, hosts, and kitchen staff for finally being the one restaurant I will ALWAYS come back to! read more

Best nights Yelp asks me? Try never. While I know it can be hard to be waitress for a large table, I figure six people really shouldn't be too hard to handle. Especially when 4 people order two of the same dishes, and all six orders are off the $6 lunch menu. Apparently not. Food was given to the wrong people, orders were screwed up, and the waitress was unable to count correctly. She also refilled everyone else's drinks or asked them if they wanted more, but said nothing to me. Bottom line, she sucked. Like she totally sucked. She gave me 50 cents more change on my receipt and charged my coworker for my iced tea, and she gave my other coworker $5 less change than she was supposed to. My manager also got charged 25 cents extra for a side of wing sauce that was supposed to be on his sandwich, but since there was hardly any on it he asked for more. Really? 25 cents? And he had to ask for his bleu cheese that was supposed to come with his meal. The food was, eh, but because the service was so awful I won't ever be coming back to this place again. Not to mention that from where I was sitting, I could see right into the men's room... not so fabulous. read more

The option to sit in or out and still watch a game is inviting. The food is excellent and the drinks are inexpensive. You will not find better staff. Be aware that you can smoke in the bar area inside or out. read more

I am ALWAYS down for Flips - good burgers, appetizers, fries, and plenty of beers to choose from! I've never gotten something that I didn't like, and neither have the friends I've gone with. The service has always been good too. I have gone for both lunch and dinner, and have always had a positive experience. Can't wait to go back! read more

Damn meatloaf was dry. And the cheesy balls were too big to swallow. Ruthie was a legend.

I want to explain my negative rating of 1* everything was great until we were about to leave. We enjoyed ourselves at the bar for a couple of hours, then my husband and I decided it was time for us to leave when we noticed a guy a few seats down from us leaving. He was clearly intoxicated. As he was standing speaking to his friend he almost fell over. As he was making his way to the door he was walking sideways. The bartender that served him allowed him to leave. I immediately jumped up and followed him and asked him if he was driving. The man told me no but continued out the final door. He was still walking sideways. I grabbed the hostess gentleman and said stop him he cannot drive. He went out to get him as he almost fell over the bench on the left hand side. As I went in to get the other hostess to get a manager. A female manager, short with brunette hair wet outside and retrieved the intoxicated man and led him back to the bar. I returned to my husband as we watched a couple across the bar leaving. The female was clearly intoxicated and walking the same side ways walk. The first man has dedicated on himself and they sat him back into his seat. I went back to the manager and informed her, her bartender was being irresponsible and did she see the lady attempting to walk out. She said yes but she was with her husband. I informed her it did not matter that over service is over service and TABC would not appreciate what he'd bartenders were doing. She then rudely informed me SHE was handling it. On my way home I called the restaurant. I asked them about the intoxicated man and was shut down by whatever female answered the phone saying we have it handled don't worry about it, I WILL be contacting TABC for the irresponsibly of this establishment of two patrons. I am a cocktail waitress and know the laws clearly! They were letting this man "walk" out and get in his car. If it weren't for me he would've driven home tonight. A tip is not worth a job, or someone's life! read more

I went here for the first time a few weeks ago with about 20 coworkers. We sat on the patio and had a great time. I wish I could say that our waitress was great. She seemed to be annoyed that we took up about five tables. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita and chips and salsa. The margarita was very good and the chips and salsa were delicious . The chips are unlimited but if you want more salsa you have to pay $3.50. The cost for the chips and salsa is $3.50 so your basically paying for another order of chips and salsa. I would probably go again for happy hour with friends or coworkers but I hope we don't get the same waitress. read more

Flips is just your regular sports bar, they serve the same bar food and drinks as any other bars in the area but the reason why I liked flips more is their customer service. I went during happy hour with my coworkers and our waiter was very attentive and got our drinks and food in a timely manner and constantly checked up on us. I know a lot of people think good customer service is expected when you go to a restaurant or a bar but honestly you don't really see it anymore so kudos to you flips! also their happy hour drink prices are hard to beat. read more

Flips has great food. Alexander was a great server. The atmosphere is really fun. Lots of TVs. The reason not 5 stars is the smoking. The bar is smoking so we sat in the restaurant and could still smell the smoke. Disappointed in that aspect. read more

This is not a review of the food. We didn't even get seated, as the smell of cigarette smoke was too overpowering, even at the entrance/front desk/reception area. read more

I've been here a couple of times. The patio is great when the weather is nice. Tonight we ate inside, where it was a little too cold. And it was smoky from the bar- I noticed when we walked in but forgot until I got home and realized that I smelled like smoke, at which point I was pretty grossed out. I'm surprised that smoking indoors is still legal. I had the Santa Fe salad, which was tasty. My husband had a burger, which he enjoyed. The prices are on the high side of reasonable. Our waiter, Keith, was super friendly and helpful. read more

After a long afternoon of shopping with the BF, we were looking for a place to grab a late dinner on a Friday night. We were coming back from Roanoke, and knew this exit had a lot of choices for food. Joe's Crab Shack, Olive Garden, El Fenix and a few others including Flips. Never heard of it and it was definitely still open and serving at 9:45. When we walked in we were greated by a less than enthusiastic hostess who asked if we wanted to be sat or to grab a table in the bar. BF wanted to watch the game so we looked for a spot in the bar. It was smokey and packed with no open tables, so we went back to be seated. Luckily the dining area wasn't smokey at all, and the BF had a great view of the TV. Besides the lack luster hostess, our server was very friendly and attentive. We started with some of their jalopeno poppers and they were great. Grilled and wrapped in bacon. Definitely made in house. My margarita arrived, strong and nothing special but priced right at $5. We both opted for burgers since it said they were made fresh in house with house made buns. We were surprised when they came out. At only $8.50 the bugers were huge, full of toppings, and large pile of fresh cut fries!! I went with the Sam I am, which had american cheese, fried egg, bacon, and a spice sauce. I asked for it Medium, and they actually cooked it perfectly medium (a lot of places tend to over cook burgers). The BF got some sort of Southwest burger. His only complaint was there was too much guacamole, so he took half of it off and happily chowed down. Neither of us could finish our meals. And all of that for about $30. If I lived closer I'd be a regular. Take Home Message: One of the best burgers I've had in Dallas period!! read more

This place is a great local hang out for you and your friends. The service is not bad depending on how busy it is, but the food is excellent and at a great price. Disgusting. Got the wings, dry, sliders, tiny and blah, turkey blt, blah. Host of other issues with manager questioning dissatisfaction at how spicy the "mild" wings were. Not kid friendly. Gross anyway. read more

I would not recommend Flips in Grapevine due to it's service and management. The first time I went there was when the Cowboys practice facility fell, and we asked to have one of the multiple TVs in our near-empty section tuned to the news coverage of it. The manager let us know through our server they were a sports bar not a news bar...and there I thought the Cowboys were sports. Guess the owners/managers are from up north. This was annoying but not a deal breaker. My next trip there was. My family and I went to eat there prior to a movie, and had planned our eating time around it. When we got our checks and gave our credit cards to pay, the staff there lost my brother's credit card. The server said they were looking for it, and they clearly were, but their attitude was like we put THEM out by what they did. It took so long (25 minutes) for them to find my brother's credit card (they had thrown it away and had to dig through the trash to find it) that we had to go to another theater to watch our movie. The manager looked at us a few times (the same "Cowboys aren't sports" manager, by the way), but at no point did he EVER apologize or even pretend to. There was no, "we took your appetizer off your bill", no free coupon for next time...nothing. Their service is atrocious because their manager is atrocious, there has never been a better example of "speed of the leader, speed of the team". Food was very good, but the staff and management there were so poor, we'll never go back. read more

I'm obsessed with college football. Saturdays mean kicking back, drinking enough beer to kill a rhino, and enjoying a day of FSU kicking ass. I came to Flip's assuming they would be able to supply both the beer and a tv for me to root for the Noles, they only provided the former. They don't have college gameday here which means that you can't watch out market games. They do have a ton of flat screen TVs and delicious queso, so overall it is still a pretty cool place to watch sports. read more

YUCK! You have to be kidding me. Read a good review elsewhere and would love to try it, but you can't get thru the cloud of cigarette smoke! Seriously, smoking in a restaurant in this day and age? A real turn-off! Guess I will have to wait until Grapevine cleans them up. Don't know how much business they are losing but we weren't the only ones turning away because of it. read more

Good food good price good portion comfortable environment Great for kids at least at lunchtime

The sign isn't fancy, there is a lingering smell of cigarette smoke, but...the food is good and the service is supurb! I came here for lunch because I work in Las Colinas. Mushroom Swiss cooked just right. Fresh Mushrooms...not from can. Friendly service. Plenty of TVs to keep you engaged. Like the way the bar separates from the restaurant with glass partition. Others' said to watch out for cigarette smoke but I didn't smell it. I've been quit for about 10 years now and am quite sensitive to it...so maybe they fixed the ventilation. read more

Good. Open late till 2am for drinks. Everything around grapevine super 8 was closed. Our burgers were a little bloody to, but it was open.

Came here for a few drinks to cap off a date night and had fun. I knew I would like the place as soon as I walked in as saw a Grizzly bear at the front door. The beer was cold and cheap, $3 for a 22oz glass. The atmosphere is lively with plenty of TVs and people. It is a smoking bar so if you don't like that then don't go. If you don't mind it go have fun. read more

Thumbs down for allowing smoking inside! Ok food. Big appetizers. Good place to watch sports at the bar.

Great food. Best bacon jalapeño in the country. Service is pretty good too. Best patio in Grapevine

I used to love this place. We would go every Sunday night after work and we would always ask for Sarah. She's was the best server we knew there, knew what would drink without even asking. She usually had the patio and since it got cold now we decided to sit inside and ask for her. The server rudely told us the table we were sitting on was hers and if we wanted Sarah we had to go outside. As severs ourselves we decided to ask the manager instead. He was the most rude of all. He told us the same thing, if we wanted Sarah we had to go outside. Never in my life had I been told that before. As far as I know we weren't asking for anything out of the ordinary. He was so rude I couldn't believe he was the manager. I've worked in the restaurant business for over 10 years and never have I met a manager as rude as him. There's plenty of places around the area and it's obvious he doesn't appreciate regular costumers. read more
