The burger and fish tacos I had here were both very good. The burger was cooked to perfect medium and I regretted not just getting a whole one (I shared meals with a colleague). The fish tacos had excellent topping including pico, cabbage and I believe it was chipotle ranch. The textures and flavors were all there. The sweet potato fries were tasty as well. read more

Met some basketball buddies here Friday night. Has mixed seating indoor and out. We stayed inside and were lucky to find seating in an area where no one was smoking, though some of it made its way to us. The TVs were in pockets of the restaurant, so didn;t have a great view of Mich. vs. NC, but at least I had one. Mixed drinks were nice and beer really cold. Food service was a bit slow but place was busy. I had the cobb salad which was great. We stayed probably 2-3hrs. Will probably head back to Fossil Creek Flip next time I have the urge but had a good time. The bear helped me to my car. read more

I love me some Flips. However, this location is not nearly as cool as the Fort Worth one. This particular location is much smaller and does not have the huge TVs everywhere. The service doesn't seem to be as good and just the overall ambiance is not the same. When you enter this location, you are immediately hit with the strong odor of cigarette smoke. Even though their smoking area is glassed off, the smoke seeps through the gaps in the glass and is very obvious upon entering this place. The Fort Worth location is smoke-free, so I prefer that aspect too. The food is pretty good though. I recommend the hummus for an appetizer and the grilled chicken sandwich. It's really good... Especially with Swiss cheese and avocado slices :) read more

I have been here 3 times now. They always have good food and ok service. The patio is amazing. The menu has soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches and other entrees. This time I ordered the chicken tenders with sweet potato fries. They were hot, crispy, juicy and plump. Probably some of the best chicken strips I've had. The sweet potato fries were crisp and delicious. My hubby ordered the French dip which I have also had. It's juicy and so good. Overall, this place has great food and an amazing patio. They have a good alcohol selection along with food. The service is good but it could be bumped up a notch. I will keep coming back :-) read more

They went out of their way to accommodate a large group, which was excellent. The food was great, and service was awesome. I had a great time here. They have drink specials daily, and the drinks are not weak. The only downside is they do allow smoking in the bar so even if you're in the restaurant you still leave smelling like smoke. read more

I have been here a few times and sat on the patio as well as inside, and both are fine. They have a nice, big patio with a fireplace, a bar, and a couple of tv's with sports. From time to time their mixed drinks will be a bit weak, but after a polite comment the problem tends to go away. :D I haven't tried much of the food, and that I did have was consumed after much libation so my opinion, I'm sure, is tainted. heheheh It's your average sports bar with a nice patio. read more

I stop here occasionally to grab a burger, which are very good. Plus, they have Guinness on tap, which goes great with any type of beef, especially a burger topped with blue cheese. Be warned however, the bar is very smoky when crowded. Previous reviewers are not exaggerating about the smoke. Great food, had shared the appetizer sampler with drinks we got the mushroom caps, mozz sticks, and the bacon jalapeño poppers and all were extremely delicious and fresh tasting with a great and big portions. The service was good. Quick and friendly. Environment is chill. I went about 1:30pm so it wasn't too busy. I had the twisted turkey BLT and it was pretty good. Taste was nice, nothing too overpowering. Overall a good place while its not busy but I would imagine it would be different during a busier time. No complaints from me. read more

Been here a handful of times now and will definitely be coming again. I've yet to have a bad item here. Food is always hot, fresh, and tasty. Quality is a big plus. Fries are cut in house. Burgers are juicy. Shrimp and grits were tasty too. Only complaint is the service. None of the waitstaff are exactly swift. Expect a noticeable delay between asking for anything and actually getting it. But if you're okay with that, Flips cant be beat. read more

Terrible experience here today. Waitress was nice enough just not very attentive, had to ask for drink refills and she messed our checks up had to have them fixed. We sat on the patio watching football, other guests were rude, stood in front of tv had to ask them to move and their kids were unruly. Running around and crawling on the floor, adults even sent them outside a one point to pass a football right next to parked cars. This is a pet friendly establishment and I'm fine with that but one couple had their dog sitting on the table that's a little too much. I realize that the restaurant can't control everything that their customers do it's just a shame that I will never want to go to another Flip's because of my experience at this one today. read more

September 18 was National Cheeseburger Day............The Best Cheeseburger I have ever had in my lifetime is here at Flips Patio Grill in Grapevine! I have been coming here for many years and have always had exceptional Cheeseburgers & exceptional service! Flips is my favorite restaurant in North Texas, plus it's very affordable for all the great food one gets! They also have a very extensive menu with other great food items, too! I also like the fact that they accommodate cigarette smokers in the bar and on the patio! I got the Southwestern chicken. It tasted legitimately like the pre-grilled chicken you buy at the store with cheap bbq sauce smeared on it. You couldn't even taste the pepper jack cheese. It came with green beans that were definitely out of a can and almost baby food level of squishy. The mashed potatoes tasted instant along with the gravy. So much negative input on smoking smell. I smoked for 50 years and quit a year ago. I still sit in the bar area and the smoke doesn't bother me. Car fumes outside are far worse than what little smoke is even in the non smoking area. You will never find better food and a larger serving of food from anywhere period. Are you kidding me, Boomer Jacks. That place is a total joke, very limited bar food menu and stale atmosphere. I'd never been here ...never even heard of it before today when my friends suggested this place. We were a group of 13 and had absolutely THE best Waitress anyone could ever have asked for. I don't think a single one of us ever saw the bottom of our glasses. They were able to out together tables quickly for is to have a seat. Everyones food came out fast and perfect! Use to be a regular but no more after tonight. DW was our server and everything was wrong, all this after hyping the place to my daughter and her family. I use to get fish and chips and was always pleased. Tonight my daughter and I were served two of the smallest pieces of fish barely larger than fish sticks. We objected and were told we could each get an additional piece for an additional charge. We eached passed on the offer while we waited for our salad's that we requested be served before the entrees. Halfway through our dismal entrees the salad's arrived with the wrong dressings. My grandchildren's nachos were served without the salsas and sour cream and they were halfway through by the time those arrived. My son in law almost never got his salad by the time he was done. I so regret and am embarrassed I talked this place up. It doesn't sound like good business practice to offer an additional charge to receive a portion that is equal to what has been served in the past considering the resulting negative reviews and word of mouth.
