This has just become our families favorite spot! We also ordered the Flipdaddy's Sampler Platter too. Which was incredible too!! Those flip stix are delicious!!! Oddly enough as plain-Jane as this sounds, the tater tots was cooked PERFECTLY! Not too crunchy, soggy etc .. Our waiter I believe, was Calvin maybe? He was awesome-sauce! Trying this newer restaurant while waiting on my wife to get her nails done next door. I ordered the pretzel bites with house made beer cheese. The cheese is slightly spicy for me but it tastes really good. The pretzel bites are pre bought unfortunately but still good. This place is known for its burgers and beers so I missed out on that. Atmosphere is mostly tvs with sports on (huge plus). You have to ask for the wifi code which is a slight pain but not too horrible. The seating area isn't particularly large but still adequate. There's a decent diversity of menu items including salads. I would recommend but I need to try a burger to have an absolute opinion of this restaurant. read more

I just consumed hamburger nirvana about 20 minutes ago. I am enlightened and have found inner peace, Filpdaddy's was the place! I am traveling for work and Flipdaddy's is nect door to my hotel. The restaurant is brand new and wasn't quite open the last time I was in town but it open now. Flipdaddy's fills a huge need in the area, and that need was a decent place that was fast food. Flipdaddy's is all wood and industrial on the inside but it is very comfortable. The staff are welcoming and friendly. I walked in on a Tuesday in the middle of the lunch rush but had no problems getting a place to sit. I sat at the bar and did have to wait a few minutes but that was totally understandable given how busy they were. I ordered a sweet tea and the Rescue 51 Burger. The Rescue 51 burger is named after the local fire department and is a spicy hamburger! They smoother their custom blend hamburger patty with chipotle mayo, fire roasted green chili and jalapeño compote, habañero jack cheese, and spicy bacon. then they top the bun with a fresh habañero pepper! They also donate $1.00 from the cost of the burger to the Scottsburg Volunteer Fire Department! You get a nice, warm, fire in your belly and the local fire department gets some much needed funds. The burger is cooked medium-well unless you ask for it to be cooked to a different doneness. Finally, with the burger, you get your choice of fries or what they call Saratoga chips. The Rescue 51 Burger by Flipdaddy's was hands down the best burger I have had in a long, long time. Do yourself a favor and make the trip to Scottsburg and visit Flipdaddy's. The staff sucks! The burgers are mediocre at best. Tried to call in a order but none of the numbers that I found online connected to this business. When I ordered they took my phone number and told me 20-30 min wait. So I sat in my truck waiting. 50 mins went by and I didn't hear anything so I walked back in to all the staff just horseplaying not doing anything important to see my food sitting on a counter. When I ordered my food it was the same stuff. Young staff not giving a f about their job or customers. I should've just left when I seen that. Food was mediocre. I came in with no expectations. I had not heard if this place was good, bad or ugh. I had not read any reviews before coming. The hardest part was deciding which burger I wanted. They all sounded good. The first choice was would we have an appetizer and which one. My wife decided on the pretzels and beer cheese. She was nice enough to make me think I had a choice, but I really didn't. It turns out it was not the best choice, mine would have been better. I wanted the bacon appetizer. I how can you go wrong with bacon? Am I right? Of course! The pretzels were good. I really like them by themselves. The cheese was missing a very important ingredient, taste. It was thin, and tasteless. What has more flavor. Sorry but that is my feelings. Then came out food. I had the Chuck Norris, my daughter the Philly burger and my wife had the shrimp entree. We all like them. They were tasty and done to perfection. My wife had the ceaser salad which she really enjoyed. For me the star of the show was the lonely Cole slaw. Yep not the burger, it was good. Yet, it was not over the top. Yet the Cole slaw was excellent, the taste was different than any one I have had. It was so tasty. Over all it was a good experience. Food was hot and fresh. Fries were very hot and crispy like they just came out of the fryer. Fast, friendly service and wait staff checked in several times to see if I needed anything. Despite being lunch hour, no wait for seating and food served promptly. Tons of TVs around the place and plenty of seating. Great place for a weekday lunch. Management values delivery services more than in-person diners. There were empty tables and no one in the waiting area. Yet we were told there was a 30-minute wait, and we could not sit at the bar. This was very upsetting as the food and service are normally good. The servers are also losing money with empty tables. There was so much wrong about this place I really don't know where to start. I will just give the highlights. 1.Burger was medium rare at best (and table beside us was rare to raw) 2. Bbq platter was cold (fries were nice and hot) 3"smoked" bbq wings were deep fried??? Why??? Takes from tender to crappy (and overcooked in this case) 4. The cheese fries cheese was like warm and not melted 5. Service was average (granted they had another table so I guess there was that) 6. This place has potential. The burgers were pretty good and there was a decent selection of other things to eat. An hour and a half to have a burger and onion rings is a bit long. Especially since I didn't have to wait for a table- the bar was immediate seating. Great. So the waitress/bar maid saw us and made us wait 15 minutes to get a drink order and another 15 to bring a glass of water and iced tea. She had 2 other groups of 2 people to take care of. 2. Finally took our order and then another half hour for a burger. They appeared to have plenty of staff, but a little chaotic. When we left, one section wasn't even open but the lobby was full. My buddy and I stopped here after the derby, because it was walking distance from our hotel. They had a great beer selection and a huge variety on the menu. We got some boneless wings for an appetizer and they were good. I was pretty hungry after not eating all day and downing mint juleps. So I ordered a Bell's Two Hearted which is my go-to IPA and the Ribeye dinner which I believe was only $20. Came with a side of big breaded onion rings and a side salad. The steak was cooked perfectly and was well seasoned with cheese on top (never had that before but it was delicious).
