This is one of my favorite burger places in Columbus! I've tried a lot of their burgers, and they are all AMAZING. The Uncle Jimmy is the best burger I've ever had, hands down. If you're a PB&J lover like me, this burger is for you. It consists of a grass-fed beef patty, PEANUT BUTTER, applewood smoked bacon, and habanero pepper jelly. The concept of a PB&J burger sounded weird to me at first, so I was skeptical to try it. I don't know why, but the flavors go PERFECTLY together. Also, their Mac & Cheese is to die for. Cooked perfectly and super creamy. Love the atmosphere, the staff is super friendly, and it is very conveniently located for a day of shopping at Easton Town Center! read more

Wow. Love this place. Called ahead on Yelp app, and when we arrived they were ready for us. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. Six of us altogether were able to sample their burgers, chicken, fries, and some awesome short rib burger. Burgers were perfect with great charr and done well, held together well too. Both hand cut and sweet potato fries were hot and tasty. Nice atmosphere too bad Northwestern was getting destroyed by Gonzaga. Three screens for us all to watch. Huge bar, nice crowd here in Easton. Columbus has really grown up nice. No kids menu but we were able to get a plain burger and a grilled cheese. Their mac and cheese looked good too. read more

There is no better burger on this planet than a medium rare Flipside Burger. The BBQ sauce is to die for, not thick like a traditional BBQ sauce. Scratch kitchen with premium beef, worth every penny. And in case the Flipside Burger isn't enough to fill me, I get a Chef Shake to go and the ride home just becomes heaven. My only complaint is how long it takes to get to Easton from where I live, but no good business expands too quick. I can only dream of seeing one of these in Central Columbus sometime. read more

Flip Side is a fun restaurant located at Easton. I went there for an office luncheon of about 20 people. We made reservations in advance. The staff was ready for our large crowd. They were very attentive and pleasant. The food all came out at a reasonable time, and our waitress didn't bat an eye when we all paid separately. Kudos to a great staff! The burgers are delicious. I got the Black & Bleu burger and ate the whole thing. Fries do not come with the entrees. The fries orders are large and can easily be shared with about three people. The restaurant has neat decorations, with a really fun private dining booth. The restrooms are single toilets and private. There is a parking lot just outside the restaurant and the large parking garage is just across the street for easy access. Whether your group is small or large Flip Side is a great place to go with friends to catch up and eat delicious burgers. read more

After reading the reviews, I had really high hopes. The service was good and was very nice. The shake was actually really excellent and worth the almost $10. My wife got the black and blue burger and she said it was ok but bland and I got the Nashville Hot Sandwich. The bun was excellent but the chicken only took up half of the bun and was overcooked which created a very rubbery texture. Fries were OK but they were luke warm. Overall we were both disappointed and agreed that there were better options at Easton. read more

This place has great burgers it was really hard to narrow it down to one. After help from our great server Cheryl I went with Mikey burger, no CEO selection bacon is perfect on it. We also tried Flip side burger as well as French Fries with mushrooms gravy, again very good . The Mac and Cheese with a little too cheesy if you can believe that.. I would stop again for sure it's a must try! read more

Burger unimpressive and bad service. Got the Red Barn Burger (something's like that) and it looked delicious. The burger wasn't seasoned though. Flip Side was a spur of the moment. Looked on Yelp and saw we could get on the waitlist to order in or to go. Nice location, not the easiest parking (super busy). Our group had great burgers! Wow! If you want a burger joint that has a restaurant but yet kinda bar feel this is it. I ordered the burger with an egg. Med well. It was soooo good. I ate the whole burger. We got there late just before they were closing so the crowed was sparse. But the food still came out hot and fresh ready for us to demolish. It doesn't take much of a reason for me to head out for a Good Burger and with the inspiration of "National Cheeseburger Day" I finally squirreled my way into Easton to a place that's been on my "to try" list a long time. I was double lucky to find a parking space within the lot outside this burger joint. I was quickly greeted and seated at a nice two-topper by the bar and patio. With the National celebration in mind I went directly to the signature Flip Side Burger, 2yr old Cheddar cheese, apple wood bacon, charred balsamic vinegar red onions, house made BBQ sauce on Ohio grass feed Beef. I paired it up with a order of buttermilk battered Onion Rings and awaited the arrival of the Burger Jubilee. What I received did not disappoint me in any way, a beautifully cooked burger with ample tasty toppings. Perfect sammich bacon, not too crispy. not too chewy and wonderfully messy like a good burger should be. The O-Rings?!? Wow, what a huge order, I didn't think I was getting the whole onion but damn I liked'em. You won't be saying where's the onion with these bad boys. The batter is that perfect hybrid of tempura and breaded, kind of the best of both worlds and served with a tasty remoulade for dipping. This place has a nice simple open casual dining room with both patio and bar seating available, TV's to catch the games and fun, friendly service. My server kept my drink full and table clean while I enjoyed my latest good Kindle read and one awesome burger on this special Holiday. I walked away satisfied that I honored the Cheeseburger spirit of this day well and will hopefully be back before another year goes by.... read more

It's been a good while since I've been here and not a lot has changed. But I was in the mood for a good burger and in my opinion their burgers are the best in town. So I ordered the "flipside burger" and an order of onion rings. The burger was just great and so were the onion rings. I don't know how they could have been any better! They came out cooked to order (medium) and covered with grilled onions and lettuce and tomato. The onions were fried to a golden brown and there was a large plate of them. Truly a great dinner! read more

This place is amazing--though a bit ironic that it is across the street from Lifetime Fitness. I'm a fan of a good burger--until now, I've favored Five Guys, Graffiti Burger, and, if we're feeling a bit upscale, Ted's Montana Grill. Flipside tops all of these places with ease. Flipside is more upscale than Five Guys and Graffiti Burger, with waiter service, cloth napkins and a full bar. There are also a couple of flat screen TV's scattered about so we were able to catch a bit of the early NCAA Tourney games during lunch. Speaking of lunch... I was in the mood for a good beer, but I was a little intimidated by the large craft beer selection and ended up defaulting to a Manhattan--hey it had to be 5 pm somewhere. I'll be darned if it wasn't the one of the best Manhattans I've had in a long time. Not too bitter and real maraschino cherries on the bottom. A nice surprise at 12:30pm on a Thursday. They also have a pretty lengthy wine list. Anyway, back to the food. I had a burger I can't remember the name of (it had a onion rings, pepper jack cheese and some damn fine bacon) and the better half had the Say Cheese with (white) cheddar. We also split the Mikey's Fries (fries with truffle oil and Grana cheese.) I also got Chef's shake to go--pure joy-- it was like drinking a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Obviously, we couldn't finish everything we ordered, but it the whole meal was awesome and I can't wait to get to leftovers tomorrow.... As some other reviewers have noted, its a little pricey for a burger joint. But, it would be better to think of Flipside as a good restaurant that happens to serve awesome burgers and darned good drinks. I think Flipside is going to do well here in Columbus. read more

GIANT HAMBURGERS!!!!!! Okay, so that is basically the concept, but there are other good things about this place. If you want a good burger (beef, turkey, chicken, veggie) - this place will exceed your expectations. You order the sides separately and they are HUGE as well. I had the turkey burger and it was really good. I liked that they had hot tea and actually did a tea service as opposed to a cup and a tea bag... Apparently they have amazing shakes too - I didn't try them, but as soon as I am eating sugar again.. i plan to try. :) Because it is located inside the Easton Town Center you will have issues finding parking during rush hours like lunch time and weekends. So plan for that. read more

This is probably my favorite burger joint in Columbus, and it sits right in the middle of one of the most pain in the ass places to find a parking spot. Luckily, the Easton garage is somewhat close, so you don't have to try and find a spot in the surface lots. Flip Side is almost always busy, whether it's dinner on a weekend or just trying to grab lunch during the week. I've actually gone there by myself for lunch and haven't even been able to get a seat at the bar, but I don't think that's a normal occurrence. I went back last week for the first time in forever, and my burger was still perfect. I think their greatest attribute is consistency, because the quality of food they have pumped out over the past few years has never faltered me. The Chili Pepper Burger is probably my favorite, but the Firestarter and Flipside burgers are just as good. The onion rings they have are amazing and bring so much more to a burger that's already seasoned and cooked perfectly. I tried the sweet potato fries for the first time, and they were delicious. They come with a horseradish sauce that I thought would taste a bit odd with the sweetness of the fries, but it worked with them really well. The service this past time was decent (our server was a bit awkward but nice), and everything was brought out very quickly. That's key for me when going here for lunch during work. A meal can be a bit on the expensive side, but you are definitely getting a quality burger and sides. They have a lot of great beers on draft as well. Flip Side may be considered a chain, but not all chains are created equal, and it definitely breaks the mold on them when it's cranking out these high end burgers. I can't vouch for the Cleveland locations, but if you live in Columbus and haven't checked in here, then you're really missing out. read more

It's not impressive and getting a cocktail takes a long time. It was odd since the place was nearly empty

Well, veg-heads, this place lets you mess with the menu. For that, I am thoroughly grateful! I was able to get the veggie un-structured burger as much more of a "real" non-burger, burger experience: THE INVERTED VEGGIE BURGER * Not between any bread / avocado / sprouts / arugula / vinaigrette / served between two chickpea patties $7.5 Mixed with the non-meat highlights from: FORESTER BURGER Wild mushrooms / caramelized onions / crispy shiitake mushroom / truffle aioli $9 Be sure to request a bun, otherwise you won't get it. And the toasted brioche-y like bun is SOOOO worth those carbs! The chickpea patty is pretty tasty. It was fairly firm and held up to the other ingredients well. I requested my caramelized onions be cooked without meat contamination, and they were happy to honor that. My sammie easily made for 2 meals. I remain unimpressed with the fries. They were ok, but just ok. Couldn't detect any rich earth truffley goodness. Our drinks were really tasty if a bit pricey. The mule is delish, BUT I gotta tell you, the manhattan is where its really at. Made with rye, it's a can't miss. They import the real marischino cherries from Italy. Huge difference. Oh. Em. Gee. After reading some of the glowing reviews on yelp and in the Dispatch, my fiancee and I had to go check out Flipside, and we were not disappointed. Our initial service made us a little nervous, as the greeter was seating another table and someone from the back came out to seat us. He was clearly not practiced in the role, and when he asked where we wanted to sit, my response of "A table" totally threw the poor kid. Thankfully, it all improved from there. Our server was out quickly and had menus and drinks for us within seconds of introducing himself, gave us good advice on the menu, and was constantly attentive and interactive without being pushy or interrupting. I tried their Cooking Channel featured Chile burger, and was in love. A delicious smoked chile ketchup set off the onion rings pickled peppers, and a sweet, just this side of medium grass fed beef burger. We also tried the tempura asparagus and mushrooms, which had a great balance of flavors with a sweet and sour dipping sauce, and their mushroom gravy fries. Oh, and then we got the shakes for dessert. The date shake had a powerful vanilla punch followed by the caramel-y chocolate-y flavor of the pureed dates, while the Chef's Special had an awesome chocolate base with peanut butter and chunks of pretzel - it was like drinking the best peanut butter cup you're ever going to have. Oh, and did I mention that at my request they turned off the NIT game on the TV by our table and put on the hockey game instead? A++, guys. Cannot wait to go back and try more! read more

TROY: I read the reviews about the original location in Hubbard, OH...and most of the complaints were of the staff not the food. DEREK: Flip Side takes the burger experience to the gourmet level. Can you overprice a hamburger? Sure, but at some point I just had to admit that this was a great sandwich and forget about what it cost. Flip Side also serves some of the best sweet tater fries I've ever had. The horseradish mustard sauce that goes with them is just killer. TROY: I ordered the Forester (mushroom) Burger with gourmet fries. The fries are par-fried 3 times to add a deeper crisp to the outside but still keep the creamy potato center. Wow wee wee wow! This IS the best (mushroom) burger I've had, ever had. If you love shrooms like me, you will kiss heaven. I've had better par-fried fries before, these were a little limp, but still better than most places. DEREK: I agree about the fries Troy. By the way we have some news to share about the sides of fries too. If you ask, they will half your order of fries (half the cost too $2) and give you what many would consider to be a platter. You may also split half fries and half sweet tater fries to get the best of both worlds ($4). This is not on the menu, but the owner assured us that it will be done upon request. TROY: I would always request for the 50/50 split fries, yum sweet potato fries! I think the price of the meal is more "special" lunch visit, like when you take someone who's never been there, or someone from out-of-town, or family, or special occasion weekend, or lunch date, or friends, or...hmm I'll be there more than twice a month. Honestly, it's a great place for "let's grab an incredible burger and some awesome craft / import / draft beer to wash it down" dinner in a trendy restaurant. DEREK: Surprise of the visit was the selection of ON TAP beers. Troy were you impressed with the selections offered? All the burgers and sauces that accompany are made to perfection. Flip Side is an excellent choice for casual dining. TROY: I argued you into submission about this place! You couldn't stop talking about how expensive it was until I put it in the right light, and we ate at Northstar Cafe, haha. I would say casual dining in the sense of Abercrombie or GAP casual, not basketball shorts and a tank top casual. read more

Oh gosh, I do sure love me some flip side! The burgers have such a rich flavor, my order is typically always gone within minutes of it arriving at the table. The regular house cooking temperature is medium well, which is always perfect. Every time it comes out juicy and flavorful. MMMMMMMMMM. Making myself hungry right now. What about the sides you ask? So they have the twice cooked fries which are super tasty with the right amount of salt. They always push to tell you that they are share worthy portions, I can hold my own when it comes to a plate of fries so I'm always a solo act. The decor says up scale, the grub says "nummy nummy". This place would be good on a date night, family night, work lunch, or just stopping in after a long day shopping. It kinda crosses over several levels. The parking can be a pain if you're not lucky. There's a parking lot next to the restaurant, good luck with that. More often than not I land in the parking structure in front of world of beer. Not a super long trek, unless it's snowing then it's crazy painful. Two thumbs up, give it a shot. read more

As far as burger joints go, I loved this one. As a vegetarian, I am weary of burger places, but their Inverted Veggie Burger was very well thought-out and was even yummier than the Louisiana "Laughing Bird" Shrimp Burger I ordered without the meat. All of our food and beverages were great, the sweet potato fries were awesome, and both our waiter and two hostesses were REALLY great. The restaurant is nice on the inside, you can tell they put some thought into the design. The truffle fries were very flavorful, but a little too soft. That's the only reason for the 4 stars. The "Dark and Stormy" drink special with Kraken Rum and Ginger Beer was really good. They had a drink named after Hoover Reservoir which I thought was pretty awesome, featuring Watershed! I was really looking forward to trying this place because of how good the food looked on yelp, but honestly the food was very underwhelming. I had the Mac and Cheese with brisket, and when I tell you they used no kind of seasoning... like none y'all!! . The rest of my party got the burgers and they received mixed reviews. With that being said, while the food was on a scale of "eh..." to "never again". They have an AMAZING craft beer selection and a super creative cocktail menu!! The Hoof Hearted is the best IPA I've ever had! Also our server was a doll! So I'll revisit, but probably just for the drinks... I go back and forth on liking Easton restaurants. I guess it depends whether I remember that it's a mall or not. Flip side is one of your better burger joints on the "finer side". The burgers here are real good and the BBQ sauce is on point. They have so many to try so I can't really review each single one unless I go back there 2 dozen times and try each one. The truffle fries are ok. The place is cool for groups or just friends hanging out. First time I was here we got a table. 2nd time around we sat at the bar for drinks and burgers. Staff are always friendly and attentive. If you are looking for a burger specialized place that's not as casual as say 'Red Robin" with finer dining experience (price point wise would be higher too) then this would be the choice. If you don't like burgers no worries. Menu offers other options, I. e. chicken, wraps, salads, etc. price wise, like I stated, this would be higher than your Red Robin. Sides are extra and not included with your burgers orders. The shakes here are really good. I know they 're like $7 but they are pretty filling and rich. Parking is Easton parking. I personally haven't had huge problems but then I don't mind a little walk from the free lots/garages nearby. read more

Love the burgers and especially the wonderful onion rings. The Easton location is always a good choice.

I may have given this place four stars, if the rating was based on the food only. The onion rings were fabulous, as were the burgers. Sadly, the service was pretty shabby. It took our server way too long to arrive at our table to take our drink order. He was slow on the drink refills the entire meal, as well. This is simply unacceptable. The management here is obviously lax. A good management structure wouldn't have this happening. Anyway, we'll not be returning, and I'd recommend you spend your hard earned money eating out elsewhere. read more

Been here a couple of times since our first visit. The previous time, it wasn't busy and the service (and food) were about the same, so I didn't update. This time, the food was still awesome and the service was much much better. We went at around 2pm on a weekday, and they were almost empty. From the greeting to the farewell, our server was very friendly and efficient, without being intrusive. She kept an eye on our table and checked if she thought we needed anything. We had pretty much what we've had before- Shawn's burger, lamb burger, brisket fries and mushroom fries. Enough leftovers for a couple of days... All of it was great. I cant say this is my favorite meal that I have had especially for the price. My husband and I ordered tempura asparagus and shiitake mushrooms, truffle fries, California Dreamin Burger, and The Inverted Veggie Burger. Everything is al a carte which is fine for other places, but 'burger joints' shouldn't be this way. The best part of the meal where the sides - especially the tempuras. The turkey burger was forgettable -- especially for something with avocado.... maybe turkey burgers aren't for me.. can't say that I have loved them before either. The Inverted Veggie Burger was a great idea, just not excellently executed. The 'buns' can be compared to large, flat falafel... he didn't come close to finishing it. What a disspointment, I never thought I would be the one to give Flipside its worst review yet! First off, I had been dying to go here since they opened. I've been in and the owner told me they would be starting a happy hour with $5 burgers and half price apps next week. So I waited and went by or called several times, finally 2 months later they started a happy hour for drinks only. Yesterday I was shopping at Easton and hungry and Flipside being the only place there that I still NEEDED to try my husband said lets go and forget about happy hour. Everytime I go there is noone there and they have a ton of servers just standing around. The decor is very cool, barnyard chic and after being shown to a hightop in the middle of the empty room I asked for the only booth which was neat looking. It started off bad already when I asked if I could have half fries, half rings, no problem he told me, then all of a sudden it was not possible so I ordered both and wasn't really happy about it since I mearly wanted to try both not eat till I pop. Turns out that wasn't a problem. For $6 you get 6 thin onion rings, I didn't want remoulade so I got the bacon BBQ, also not great, so I asked for the bacon aioli. OMFG, I have never seen nor tasted anything so vile in my life! It looked and tasted like straight bacon fat when it gets hard, white and lardy with tiny bacon pieces in it ( I admit I only had the tiniest dip and my husband didn't dare try) The fries also fries in lard which you could clearly taste and was also pretty gross, cold, wrinkly, so we sent them back. The reason I have been wanting to go so bad is the inverted veggie burger, ALWAYS a sucker for veggie burgers made in house I was sure to love this. My face already fell when I saw it, 2 paper thin patties, cold, raw and mushy with a flavorless salad in between, one bite and I also sent it back. My husband had the burger with the fried egg and enjoyed it, but I left hungry which really sucked. It totally ruined lunch, since my husband was stuffed and didn't want to eat elsewhere so I got some ice cream and hoped for a better dinner. What a letdown! read more

I was super excited to check out this place. The reviews were great and the pictures looked awesome. Overall, I was pleased but not wow'd. The burgers were pretty good. I got the green eggs and ham because I'm obsessed with fried eggs. The prosciutto and basil mayo were an added bonus. Very hearty and delicious with well-cooked meat and a toasty bun. It was MESSY (especially after I accidentally popped the egg and the yolk went everywhere) but that's how I like my burgers! Definitely want to try a burger with bacon next time because the bacon looked AWESOME. BACONNN!!! We also ordered the mac n cheese with BBQ brisket to share. It was BOMB. Not your typical creamy Kraft, it reminded me more of baked mac n cheese with that crispy texture. We also split truffle fries. They sounded and looked really good but I was disappointed. They weren't anything special, I'd stick with the regular fries for the same enjoyment but less cash. Service was MEH. We sat down about an hour before they closed. I felt like I was being rushed when I got there and throughout the whole meal. It was clear they want customers out of there on the dot especially with the fact that the kitchen closes 30 minutes before the restaurant does as well. read more

Overall pretty disappointed with this place. I've seen the reviews which got my hopes up for finding a nice burger, but i was let down. I was able to try two burgers here and both of them just didn't do it for me. Overpriced and lacking in real flavor. I'm not a huge fan of burgers that really rely on their toppings as their main source of flavor, which seems to be what this place hangs their hat on. While the burgers were disappointing, their truffle fries were good and also a great value on happy hour (half off). The beer selection here was small but varied and I was able to find something nice on draft.
