I didn't realize this was in the Colcord. If you're staying here, I would certainly recommend it. Or if you've got an event downtown. But, I'm not sure I would make the trek to eat here again. I am going with a four star review. The amuse-bouche that was sent out was amazing! Fried plantains on a great aïoli. If that were on their appetizer menu, I would order it (and that sauce by the bucket load). Their version of an aperol spritz (with blood orange) was very sippable. I went with the Airplane Chicken. The rissoto was amazing. The chicken was mediocre. The asparagus was almost tough. I totally picked wrong. Around the table we had the chicken fried steak (enormous), a ribeye, a Caesar with shrimp, and the short rib pappardelle. We also tried the corn bread. The butter was the best part. We stopped at Flint Kitchen & Bar for a late dinner after a very long day of traveling. We were staying at the hotel and had valet parking, which made things convenient; otherwise, parking in the area did not appear to be easily accessible. We arrived around 8:45 p.m. and didn't leave until about 10:00 p.m., which felt especially long considering we only ordered two sandwiches and a side of mac & cheese. The restaurant itself is beautiful and definitely gives the impression of being a nicer, more upscale place, so we were expecting the service to match. Because it was extremely cold inside, we chose to sit outside. Unfortunately, the wait for our food was much longer than expected, and once our meals were delivered, we were basically left unattended. Our service was split between Sydney and Erin, and I was surprised to learn that one of them was a manager. A soda we ordered was forgotten, and no one came back to check on us or ask how everything was. About halfway through our meal, I had to get up and go inside to ask for the drink. Later, I had to get up again just to request a to-go box and our check. When we mentioned that my grandson didn't care for the mac & cheese because it was too dry, there was really no response or effort to address it. We weren't expecting anything for free, but even a simple offer to replace it or bring him something else would have shown some level of concern. The French dip was good, although the mashed potatoes were a little watery. The chicken sandwich was just okay and nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere and looks great from the outside, but unfortunately the service did not live up to the setting. After traveling all day, we were hoping for a relaxing dinner with attentive service. Instead, a meal that began at 8:45 p.m. stretched until 10:00 p.m., with us having to repeatedly get up to ask for basic things. Me and 7 family members came to Flint for my mother's 60th birthday celebration. I picked this restaurant based on the 4 times prior (years ago) being excellent. The food this evening was awful. Like really REALLY BAD. It felt like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation when they tried to eat the turkey. The burger patties were like leather and so thin - it was only edible because it was dripping in sauces. 3 of us got the $32 salmon... which ended up being the cheapest part of the fish (the tail area) which is incredibly tough to cook because of how thin it is. All 3 of us had salmon so dry it just crumbled... and literally required lots of water to get down. I was so embarrassed that I had hyped this restaurant up, I apologized profusely to my family/mother. It was AWFUL. I sent my salmon back and they made an actual typical salmon piece that wasn't overcooked...but my family was a bit too shy to do so. Flint is located in the beautiful Colcord hotel downtown. It's a swanky spot for date night. The outdoor seating area has beautiful plants. Not a huge menu, but tasty options. I loved the poblano cornbread appetizer. And my shrimp were perfectly cooked. We even got a complimentary little app from the chef that was delicious and unique plantains. Our server was great. Stayed at the Colcord and enjoyed two breakfasts at Flint. The space is pleasant, with lots of hard wood and interesting art that provoked a lot of debate. I had two different servers and both were friendly, professional and efficient. They kept my coffee cup full each day and the coffee was very good so I appreciated it! On my first day, I enjoyed a Tasty Beast breakfast Sandwich (with no bacon). It is hard to beat a fried egg sandwich with avocado, tomato and spinach on sourdough and Flint delivered! Great flavor and remarkably fresh. The breakfast potatoes that accompanied it were excellent. On my second day, I had a stack of citrus pancakes with blueberries. The pancakes were great and needed neither butter nor syrup. The blueberries were fresh and tart. OKC is a great pancake city, it seems! read more

The Manhattan alone is worth the trip -- but the kitchen needs a conversation with its salt shaker. Let's start with what worked: the service was seamless. I was seated immediately, my order was taken promptly, and the food arrived without any unnecessary wait. Efficient, attentive, no complaints there. The Manhattan? Excellent. The bartender had a generous hand with the pour -- exactly how it should be made. Bold, balanced, and worth ordering again. Now, the food. I had the filet mignon with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a blood orange reduction. The green beans were the surprise standout -- well-seasoned, well-executed. But the filet and mashed potatoes fell flat. Both desperately needed salt and pepper; the seasoning simply wasn't there. The blood orange reduction, which should have been the star of the plate, was so subtle I had to go looking for it. A dish with that much potential deserved a bolder hand in the kitchen. One small note on the atmosphere: the restaurant sits on a corner of a busy street, and without the curtains drawn, the dining experience loses a bit of its intimacy. A simple fix that could go a long way. Would I return? For the bar -- absolutely. For the kitchen to earn another visit, the seasoning needs work. The bones of something great are here. Her attitude and experience shined through as this young lady has been at the restaurant for over 3 years. She was happy and genuine. She offered me a suggestion for what to order because I have problems as an older person to finally make up my mind. She made several trips to my table and offered conversation that I welcome because I enjoy getting to know others. I am retired but my life's occupation required abilities to relate to others in personal and helpful ways. Nadia obviously is a great waitress but I feel she went the second mile in the ways I've described. My coworker suggested this place mostly because it was a short walk from the office. Neither of us had strong opinions about where to go, so we just went. Turned out to be a decent call. I got the pimento cheese sandwich with fries. It had a bit of a kick to it, which I wasn't expecting but didn't mind at all. Fries came out hot. My coworker ordered the chipotle chicken tenders and they were noticeably bigger than the menu made them sound, she actually commented on it. We both cleaned our plates, so no complaints there. Lunch at Flint with friends from work. A great place to go for a holiday lunch. The hotel and restaurant are nicely decorated and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. We were able to get a booth across from the fireplace, with a view of Myrid Botanical garden. I ordered a pimento cheese sandwich with fries. The sandwich was very good. The pimento cheese had a little kick that I enjoyed. The french fries were excellent, maybe the best in OKC. One of my friends ordered chicken tenders with cream gravey. The tenders looked amazing and my friend shared. The chipotle chicken tenders were excellent. Loved the way they were breaded, seasoned and prepared. My other friend ordered the french dip. He said it was good, but messy to eat, falling apart. The tenders were $16. The gravey was a $1 extra. The pimento cheese sandwich was $14. The french dip was $18. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Great experience here - my friend made reservations for dinner several days in advance - we ate here before seeing Stevie Nicks at the Paycom Center. We each had a cheeseburger - hers with jalapenos - and french fries. I haven't had a burly cheeseburger such as this one in a very long time and the french fries were thick, seasoned and tasty. I had an iced tea - she had a couple glasses of wine that qualified for a Wednesday Wine discount. Our server was welcoming, polite and friendly. We parked our cars here in the valet - the first two hours were free and then $15 each hour thereafter - we walked a reasonable distance to the Paycom Center and then came back and retrieved our cars. Great place to gather pre-Paycom or post workday in the bar. The bad? The food was only okay. The skillet cornbread is GREAT; if you go there -- get it. The oysters - we were initially told they were out, then told they were not. Based on these being the smallest oysters EVER, I truly think they divided three oysters into six. The Tri pasta was solid; the cremini mushrooms in the dish were great and the pasta well cooked, but was swimming in so much over-lemoned wine sauce that I was only able to eat the top layer and leave the rest. I asked for no parm, and ...tons of fresh parm. No worries; I picked it off. The husband's chicken fried steak & potatoes were fine; just not memorable. It's been a few years since I last went to Flint. The food has always been delicious, and the restaurant is beautiful. The new remodel, and new menu takes it to the next level. Garrett is an amazing server. He was attentive, personable, and knowledgeable without being intrusive. Their manager Robin is absolutely top notch, she is the definition of hospitality. We were seated in the middle of the dining room so could see all of the action. Robin did not stop moving. She took the time to talk to each table, she hosted, ran food, helped clear, reset, and run food. Whatever her salary is...double it. She is a keeper. The spinach dip was something I will be craving now. That's going to be a staple on the menu. My only recommendation would be to serve it with a spoon and not a butter spreader/cheese knife. It was a bit awkward. The scallops were cooked to perfection, and the salad with the slightly acidic dressing was the perfect pairing. The chicken fried steak was seasoned and cooked extremely well. The meat itself was equally as delicious. Finding a tender cut to use can be difficult sometimes. The dessert was a nice light cake with mangos (I think). Great end to a great meal. We ate there a few months ago and I noticed that my credit card was charged like a month after the fact which was weird. I just got charged again for the exact same amount, another month later. If you have eaten there lately something is going on with their payments. You need to check your account. Hopefully I can get my money back on the extra charges. Food was terrible. We ordered shrimp cocktail and it was chewy and tasted bad. The bartender we dealt with must have had a bad day. He was rude, cold and cannot make a martini. Two martinis cost us $70! Insane and not even good. There was another bartender that tried hard to understand and tried to help us have a better evening but the other one should not work there. Came here for brunch a few weekends ago with a friend, and I absolutely adore the interior of the place. It's sooo so pretty! Think modern meets vintage but wonderfully executed. It'd 100% be cute for a night out, too, I bet! But let's get to the food! Prices are about alright, about on par with the other brunch places. Highlights were their potatoes on the chicken and waffles, and the French toast. Potatoes were nice and crispy, and French toast was super fluffy and thick. Loved those two! Avocado toast was a little odd. It needed something a little sweeter to lift the dish like a balsamic reduction or something. The kale salad on it was a little too acidic for my taste. The fried chicken on my chicken and waffles was a little too dry and needed a whole lot more seasoning, too. I think the fruit salad could also be a little fresher. Buuut - we had a wonderful waiter who catered to us great, and the team at Flint were very accommodating to us having our dogs on the patio. So the service is great! I do love the ambience, and I like the concept overall, so we'll come back for another try, perhaps someday. read more

Gorgeous setting at lower level of a hotel in the downtown OKC scene. This place has a simplistic menu, but they do it right. We had a large party of 15, and rhe service was impeccable and what you would want and expect from a higher end establishment. I had the salmon pasta dish which was beautiful. The squid ink black pasta was really eye catching and delicious. The signature cocktail list was enticing as well. I had a nitro brew beer which was excellent, but some of our table meets tried the cocktails and they were stunning. For a Monday evening it was relatively busy but not packed. Flint is an upscale restaurant located inside the Colcord Hotel. We arrived on a Friday for dinner reservations. For the appetizer we ordered the coconut scallops. The scallops were served over a bed of coconut rice and jerk sauce. They were absolutely delicious. For dinner, I ordered the 6 oz Prime Petite Filet of Black Angus. It came with asparagus and flint mac and cheese. I substituted the asparagus for mashed potatoes because I'm not a fan of asparagus. I should have also substituted the flint mac and cheese because it definitely left a lot to be desired. It lacked in flavor and cheese. What a huge disappointment. Luckily, my medium rare steak was cooked perfectly, seasoned to perfection and melted in my mouth, therefore, I will not deduct a star for the bland mac and cheese. My boyfriend ordered the blackened chicken fettuccine which did not disappoint. He also received a complimentary cheesecake for his birthday. I would definitely recommend Flint. Wanted breakfast so I looked this place up on Yelp. I saw a few things that looked good so I walked on over and I was sat immediately at the bar. The waitress behind the bar got me a water and gave me time to look over the menu. I decided on the chicken fried steak and when it showed up a few minutes later I knew I made the right choice! The food covered the entire plate and was massive! When I had my first bite it was true love, the food was so good. I can eat a lot, and I struggled to finish my meal, there was so much food. I was really excited to try Flint because I've heard really great things about this establishment, unfortunately, my experience was not the best. It took about 25 minutes, even receive our bar drinks and even after that our server took so long to get our food order. We both wanted to order the shrimp and grits just for our server then tell us that they're out of it which is something I figured you'd start off by saying first so we had to choose a completely different food option. I had to ask our server to please give us refills twice. Which for fine dining I wouldn't even expect to have to ask. The food was good and the vibes were nice. There was someone playing the piano. We were traveling through on a cross country road trip looking for a good Thanksgiving dinner and nice place to stay and we found it at Flint and the Colcord. We were pretty sad to find out that they were out of the very clearly Thanksgiving items like butternut squash soup and cornbread dressing and mixing up our dessert order but this place was slammed.
