Located in a beautifully repurposed home in downtown Covington, this charming spot exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and promptly shown to our table in one of the restaurant's small but thoughtfully decorated dining rooms. We started with the house-made whipped ricotta at our server's suggestion. Lightly topped with rosemary honey and served with grilled ciabatta, it was absolutely delicious. For our entrées, my wife ordered the Chicken Molli while I chose the Pork Cheek Marsala. Both dishes were phenomenal. Unfortunately, we didn't save room for dessert, so I guess we'll just have to return, which I'm sure won't disappoint my wife in the slightest. When we received the bill we were both surprised because we had expected it to be significantly higher than it was based on the service and quality of the food. The attentive staff, inviting atmosphere, and excellent food all help make this place stand out. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Marcello's has an upscale, yet very comfortable, persona and excellent service that combined for an elegant dining experience. Before dinner cocktails were refreshing and we then enjoyed Caesar salad and tomato basil soup before our main courses of chicken parmigiana and chicken molli, both of which were tasty in a traditional way. A tasty cannoli followed up. My wife enjoyed a Pinot Grigio with dinner, and I a very full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, which was the chef's evening's special recommendation. Marcello's has our recommendation for a special night out.

Long…read moreafter moving away to various other places, I always made an effort to stop in to enjoy a great meal whenever I passed through the area. Initially, I ordered only the brucioloni ( braciole) as that is an Italian favorite rarely found in restaurants. But as the years went by, I checked out some of their other offerings, all expertly prepared. Veal chop, veal pane, lamb chops, and spaghetti aglio olio with homemade Italian sausages. You get a wonderful dinner salad, seemingly endless loaves of fresh baked Italian bread and depending on your order, other sides. Pasta portions are generous. Cocktails are great especially the sazerac, and there is a good variety of wines to choose from. Desserts are good too, especially the homemade. Service has always been good, from the bartender and maitre'd, down to whichever server you end up getting. Many employees have been working there a long time which is a testament to a well-run restaurant. During the course of the evening, Sal himself will likely stop by your table to ensure you are satisfied. The restaurant itself is classy, a white tablecloth kind of place where many patrons dress up for the occasion. But shorts are OK too. I highly recommend eating here when on the north shore. I've never left hungry or dissatisfied in any way.

We went to Rome two years ago and at at Alfredo's that claim to be the birth place of Alfredo sauce and we loved it. This was just as good. The noodles were delicious and fresh the sauce was very good too. The wife loved her artichoke. For our meal I had the Braciole first time ever and it was fantastic my wife had the veal lasagna and she loved it. The house salads were amazing flavor and we finished with ice cream with amaretto and cool whip and bourbon pecan pie with ice cream. So much food left over. A true Italian restaurant. Ashleigh not only had the low down on the best foods to order, but she kept up with our table of 5 like we were beloved family. Everything was sooooo good tonight. From the delicious appetizers, to the incredible salad (seriously, you have got to try this Creamy Italian), all the way to this badass softshell crab dish and the most chocolatey-chocolate cake I've had in recent memory. I lost most of notes for this meal, sadly, because it was super delicious and perfect. We did the 5 course meal menu item and I cannot wait to go back and do it again. Highly recommend an evening at Impastato's. And hey, ask for Ashleigh, get her opinions and smiles, and bask in the warmth of how well she'll care for you and your peeps.

But the true Yelper in me says I need to write it. I've been passing this place for some time and finally decided to go. It's a large place, simple decor and what appears to be a full bar. Our Server was nice, but had no idea about the items on the menu. I ordered the Chicken Marsala and she got confused about which dish it was and had no idea what came with the chicken. I finally asked if it was pasta and she said yes, so I didn't ask to change that side as I normally would have. My husband ordered a pizza. (Had I known then, what I know now I would have done the same) We were brought out the house made rolls and they looked amazing! They were warm and quite good. Later our food came out and the disappointment began. Let me start by saying the portions were large. I was quite surprised. But sadly the rest of my Marsala was not good. It was a stronger Marsala than usual I think and it literally tasted of black pepper. When I looked at it, I could literally see the large black pepper flakes throughout. The pasta was spaghetti in the brown Marsala sauce. But the chicken was the step too far for me. It has zero flavor, only made worst by the texture. I struggle to describe it, because I don't want to sound mean by using the word that comes to mind but I don't know how else to describe it. I guess the only other way to describe it is slick. The outside of the chicken literally has a slick feel to it. Like a greasy slippery feel /texture. It was like a raw oyster feel. I literally couldn't eat it and it made me feel ill to think about it. My husband said the pizza was "okay. No better than take out pizza." After I tried the chicken, We immediately paid and left. We ended up going to Canes and calling it a night. I gave them 2 Stars because of the Rolls and the "Okay" pizza.
