We were visiting friends in Lynchburg and this is where we went for dinner on a Friday evening. There is a decent parking lot located right beside the restaurant. The service and food were excellent. The steak was very very good and the bacon appetizer is worth getting just for the variety of flavors. They also have a good and fresh salad bar for you to make your own salad. The indoor area was nicely done. This is an excellent location for a nice dinner out.

Bacon flight! Very tasty and filling

I'd never heard of this place until I was invite to dinner! It was tucked away in boonsboro with plenty of parking! The dress is casual despite the prices. I had reservations but the only thing available was a high top in the bar area, which was fine with us. Service was pretty good, very lax. The bacon appetizer was so fun! The chipotle peach, bourbon, and espresso were our favorites. The black pepper one tasted more salty than anything and the BBQ one I liked but my friend didn't. We ordered the ribeye , it came with a trip to the salad bar and two sides. I added mushrooms and onions to mine. Our server suggested a gin drink that had olive oil and vanilla. I was skeptical but it was delicious!

    Pretzel bites....ok

Fleming Mountain Grill is a very good restaurant. What's good: quality and quantity of food, service. What's not optimal: atmosphere, bathrooms and salad bar cross contamination. Service is very attentive. Wait staff / servers are quick to seat you, get your initial drinks, take your alcohol and appetizer order. Items are at your table quick and correct. Food wise, food was very good, good quality and quantity and hot when it arrived to our table. Appetizers were very good. The steak was good but pricey. We paid roughly $60 for a 1-inch cut and $80 for 1.5 inch cut. The cut was good, but didn't melt in my mouth. Good but I think it's a bit pricey for the quality and quantity. Other platters were good and everyone in our party was happy with their selection. Drinks are ok. Wine selection was ok. Limited selection of better selection. Bathrooms were out of soap. Trash was full. Salad additives were cross contaminated with other items. If you have food allergies, cross check items. Atmosphere was bland. More of a midwestern supper club atmosphere. Not bad, just different than what I expected. I recommend Fleming Mountain Grill. Just know you're going to pay a high price for a nice steak.

We love Fleming Mountain! We come here quite often and it never disappoints. The steaks are always wonderful! One of the coolest parts is that they cut the ribeye tableside, and the staff gives you a little background on the different cuts, which makes the experience feel extra special. The salad bar that comes with your entrée is also great -- always fresh with plenty of variety. The staff here is excellent -- friendly, attentive, and professional. The owner/manager often comes by the table to personally thank you for dining, which adds such a nice personal touch. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great steakhouse experience in Lynchburg!

    Blue haze mocktail

Upscale southern fusion cuisine at its finest! I ordered a purple haze mocktail and it was lovely and not too sweet. Next, we had the duck wonton appetizer and they were perfectly tender and umami, which is difficult to achieve in fusion dishes. Next was an incredible crab stuffed Mahi with a beautiful baked sweet potato and my mom had a superb chicken cordon bleu. Finally dessert was a shared slice of bourbon pecan pie.

We started with some wine and dirty martinis, both good. Kicked off the meal with scallops and their famous bacon sampler. We enjoyed the appetizers and liked the espresso bacon the best. Entrees included the small filet and a ribeye both with steamed broccoli. Broccoli was a little over cooked. The ribeye is sliced table-side and you choose the size you want. The "meat-master" was funny and we enjoyed his presentation. We opted for a trip around the old school salad bar, which was simple and nice. Steaks were very good. Only complaint would be that I added blue cheese crumbles to the top and it was covered, too much for me. Prices were in-line for what we received. So, we will be back, just next time I will ask for "lite" blue cheese.

    Berry mule

My husband took me to dinner here for my birthday and it was lovely. The salad bar had so many options and it was delicious. I had the Berry mule and it was very tasty. The service was great, everyone was so nice and I loved the "meat master" coming by the table showing the cut of meat and telling the story. The salmon with the spicy Asian glaze was amazing and the potatoes were sooo good and had a little spice. The only thing I didn't like was the green beans. It was really nice that they gave me a sundae for my birthday. I liked how cozy the dining room was.

Scallops and medallions and perfectly cooked Veggies and sweet potato with the yummy sweet butter!

Their outside setup is very nice with tents for shade, comfortable plastic chairs with cup holders and fake grass a little ambience. Stock Bistro & Bar is a dream come true. Everytime I dine there I'm amazed how they've managed to convert Roanoke's historic Fire Station One into a Scandinavian and Nordic-inspired fine-dining restaurant. One in which is always a pleasure to dine there, from the moment you arrive and receive an elevated welcome, to the moment you retire and receive a heartfelt goodbye. Today I was welcomed at the Host's station by a friendly young lady, who after confirming my OpenTable reservation, asked me at what section of the restaurant did I want to seat. As I do at all my favorites restaurants, I have a preferred table at which I always dine at, if it's available. I explained that at the last table next to the windows and to the open kitchen. On my receipt it listed it as Table 7. Once there, my server, Caitlyn, came by and took my drink order. I requested a Mojito Mocktail and she had it prepared. To dine, I started out with a Wedge Salad, and as my main course I ordered my favorite, the Hanger Steak cooked medium-rare, and served with Bacon and Aged Gouda Fondue Hand Cut French Fries. The steak was cooked to perfection and served beautifully placed on the plate. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the high-quality of their food. For dessert, the "Grand Finale" of the meal, I ordered the Ableskivers. They were amazing; like sofisticated donut holes served with some kind of a fruit. The executive chef himself not only prepared them, but brought them to my table, and stayed for a while chatting with me. This gesture can only be seen in exclusive restaurants such as this one, and others such as Alexander's, OTH Chophouse & Oyster Bar, and at The Regency Room at the historic Hotel Roanoke. It is for flawless dining experiences like this one that I enjoy being a wholehearted yelper, and write reviews about them afterwards, to make people aware of the high-quality restaurants that we have in this Star City of Roanoke, Virginia. And for people to also enjoy these experiences and give the restaurants their total support.

This place is a win for flavor and atmosphere. Kaitlin was the bartender and she also waited on me. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Seating was flexible, I had the choice of outside back patio, inside at a table, or inside on a couch in the studio. I picked the couch and felt comfortable like at home. The whole place is very cool. I plan on staying here again for future work trips and will definitely try a lunch here sometime this week.

After having been selected as number 4 of Yelp's Top 50 most prolific Elites of 2025, a year when I also was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Photographer of the Year Award at their Yelpies 2025 Award Ceremony, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, and where last year I was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Yelper of the Year Award, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Stellina, in Downtown Roanoke, is a perfect example. Stellina (which means "Little Star" in Italian) is a secretly hidden little bar within the very popular Italian Restaurant Fortunato, but with its own entrance through a door on the right of the restaurant. Its only indication of its name is a small letter board behind one of its front windows, stating its name and hours of operation. This bar was constructed with reclaimed wood from the Old Crow distillery and opened in December of 2016. Since then its gain a reputation as the ideal spot for hand-crafted cocktails in a cozy and intimate atmosphere. It seats only about 20 people, with 7 at the bar. Not that long ago it gained recognition by being featured in the New York Post as one of the world's best small bars. All that I can tell you about this place doesn't do justice to the experience of visiting the place for the very first time. After stepping inside, I was mesmerized by the simple yet effective, elegance of the establishment, complimented by the beautifully dressed young lady, server/bartender. Her elegant style and mysterious personality contributed to the character and ambiance of this one-of-a-kind relaxing place. The very hospitable young lady welcomed me and handed me the drink menu, while asking me if I also planned to dine there. I answered in the affirmative and asked her if they had any Mocktails. To my surprise, she pointed out that one side of the Drinks Menu were all non-alcoholic drinks, including mocktails, bottled mocktails, wine by the glass, and beers. I ordered one of the mocktails and by the end of my meal, I think I must have tried a few. She then brought me Fortunato's menu, and I ordered the Fritto Misto as appetizer and the Pork Milanese as my main entrée. I enjoyed both course immensely. A lady employee brought me the food from Fortunato's Restaurant through a door that led to the restroom area of Fortunato's Restaurant, pass the kitchen. For dessert, that Which I consider the "Grand Finale" of a wonderful fine dining experience, I ordered their Tiramisu and Hot Chocolate. They were absolutely mouthwatering.
