This evening I had the pleasure of dining at Stellina with a friend. We arrived at Fortunato around 6 PM without making a reservation, with the full intention of waiting for a table to be available at the restaurant. However a waitress just happened to be walking by as we were talking with the hostess, telling us there was a table available at Stellina, the cocktail bar attached to Fotunto, where we had originally intended to dine. We were informed it would be the same dinner menu, but a different cocktail menu, which was fine with us, so we took the table. At Stellina, we were quickly seated at a 4-top table by a window and perused the drink menu. We easily decided which drinks and food we wanted and placed our order with our waiter, a nice young man. The room was decorated with Christmas lights and otherwise low lighting, creating an intimate atmosphere. I ordered a gin based drink called "the obituary." It was had floral notes and was served with 3 olives as a garnish. I also sampled my friend's drink, which was vodka and cranberry based. It was sweeter than my drink but tasty in its own way. My companion and I ordered bread as an appetizer. The bread was served with herbed butter and oil and was quite tasty. By the time our food arrived we had eaten almost all of it. I ordered the "Bucatini all'Arrabiatta," Bucatini Pasta, Spicy Tomato Sauce with Calabrian Chiles, Stracciatella & Pecorino Romano. The spice on the first bite was a bit overwhelming, but I quickly adjusted. My dish was extremely satisfying and worth the $17 price tag. I also sampled my friends dish of Lumache al Forno, Baked Three Cheese & Spinach Stuffed Shells with Tomato Sauce which was also quite good. Throughout the meal, the waitstaff checked in with us multiple times to ensure we were satisfied with our dining experience. Towards the end of our dining experience, a waitress offered to remove some plates from our table and we requested the check. Before we left, we visited the women's restroom which had two clean stalls and one sink. On our way out the hostess wished us a good rest of our night. I would recommend Stellina to anyone looking for an upscale Italian dining experience in the Roanoke area. The atmosphere and food quality are worth every penny.

Stellina's is the latest addition to mixed drink bars in Roanoke, VA The bar features a small counter and very trendy beverages from their "The Cheeky Nips" menu. Frankly I order off menus when Jacquie is tending bar; she is a master! Next to Fortunato's, this place is where you need to go after having a decent meal or too many beers at Jack Brown's. Music bitchin in to the conversation as a modern beat. Spoon is playing their Rainy Taxi while I drink this mystery concoction of bourbon, orange and beyond. All and all, Roanoke has another winner.

Cocktails. The square is pineapple that was dipped in apple-smoked sugar and bruleed with a blowtorch.

Loved this little "speakeasy" bar. Very small and intimate, dark lighting. This is a great date night or after-dinner drinks kind of place. The bartenders here are extremely talented and put care into each and every drink, even drinks that aren't on their specialty menu. I even came in once with a group and didn't order a drink because I was DD and the bartender was super friendly about it, asked if I at least wanted a water or non-alcoholic beverage to sip on.

The food is amazing, the drinks are to die for. The octopus, the shrimp and the risotto balls we ordered were delicious. The mixologist really knows how to make all kind of amazing drinks. Ask for the one with the flambé pineapple, his old fashions are on point and that whiskey sour Thanks Loui! Loved loved loved everything there. Do yourself a favor and stop to get good food, good drinks and just make sure you bring good company

Apparently a hidden gem cause none of the local had heard of it. Delicious drinks in a great atmosphere.

They were full of flavor and moist. The Khachapuri was also good but the bread was stuck to the parchment paper it was baked on pretty hard. In my opinion, it needed a touch of garlic but still good. It was nice to drop by for a little to have some cocktails but wish there was more on the menu.

We had: -deviled eggs (good but the filling was too solid and cold...I like the yellow to be a little creamier and light); -fried cauliflower-the star of the show; it tasted almost like a sweet Korean fried chicken; -Butternut squash salad- also delicious, with nicely roasted butternut squash chunks and a really good dressing; -Pimento cheese dip- excellent dip served with toast. Pimento cheese isn't much of a thing in NYC where I live so I've been trying it every time I see it in Roanoke. We really liked everything we had and the service was so nice. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that it would be appropriate this year to go back to this restaurant and write a follow-up review, since my initial review was one of my reviews that contributed to me obtaining this highly esteemed Award. I arrived on a Thursday evening with a 6:15pm reservation which I'm glad I had made because later I found out that this place gets to be a full house on Thursdays. A young lady host greeted and welcomed me at the Host's station as soon as I arrived. She checked my reservation and had my table all ready for me. Located in the middle of this very popular Restaurant Bar, gave me a nice view of the entire place, and with a light high above I had a perfect lighting to photograph my drink and food as part of my review of the place. My server Jillian arrived soon after I was seated. She had a wonderful personality and welcomed me with a friendly smile and very pleasant attitude. After answering me some questions about their Mocktails, I ended up ordering their Raspberry Burro. For dinner I ordered their BBQ Bacon Chicken Kababs with a side of their special fries and a salad. While I was waiting for my food to arrive I observed the place quickly filling up and I found out that tonight was Music Bingo and Live Music at 9:30pm with no cover charge. It brought me back to my college days in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, where the night life was a thing to look forward to. Suddenly I discovered the key of Martin's popularity and the important role it plays in contributing to making the City of Roanoke a Star City indeed. I enjoyed my drink and the Chicken Kababs with the side of special fries were amazingly delicious, as well as the salad. They have a good variety of quality items on their menu and their chefs amazingly deliver. I invite you to read my first review where I celebrate their Cuban Sandwich and Slaw, and view my photographs that accompany my review. What a night. Besides the food, I enjoyed playing the Music Bingo, which one of the card titles was The 1970's. One of the best years of my life, when I attended High School in San Juan, Puerto Rico and College in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts. During that time I also won a Saltwater Fishing Tournament at the young age of 17 by catching a 405 pound Blue Marlin off the coast of Isla Verde, Puerto Rico. It was the best of times for me. My server Jillian provided exceptional customer service, checking on me at the appropriate times. For dessert I ordered their Glazed Doughnut Bread Pudding, and it was so good, I can't wait to return to have it again. What an extraordinary dining experience I had that night. I highly recommend this restaurant and bar for when you feel like having a good time, alone or with family and good friends. I promise you will be able to sabor what a Five Star review is all about, and experience for yourselves why Martin's is one of the City of Roanoke's most precious gems.
