Poor surgical outcome for my shoulder surgury. His bedside manner is lacking compared to other physicians.

We came in for a broken ankle, but it was treated as if it were not a serious issue. An MRI was necessary for the next step in treatment, yet the request was not submitted to the insurance in a timely manner. We had to repeatedly follow up and push the office just to get the request sent. In the meantime, we were left waiting in pain without proper support or protection while waiting for the MRI to be scheduled and completed. Even after the MRI was completed and the report was sent to the doctor's office the next day, no one contacted us to schedule a follow-up appointment or begin treatment. Isn't the office supposed to monitor this and follow up with patients to move treatment forward? Overall, this was a very frustrating and upsetting experience.

After a simple consultation and X-ray, I was diagnosed with the need for an ankle brace and physical therapy. Due to my busy schedule, I purchased the ankle brace first and wore it for a few days, but my ankle hurt even more than before, and I developed a large blister near my inner ankle bone. After wearing it twice, I had to stop using it. When I called the office to request a return, I was told that returns were not possible for used products. I accepted this and didn't argue further. However, I felt extremely unfair when I received the bill. An ankle brace that can be bought on Amazon for $33 was billed at $300, and despite paying an $80 copay at the office visit, I still had to cover an additional $110. In total, I ended up paying $190 plus the insurance-covered amount. To sum up, I paid $680 in total and ended up with more ankle pain. No matter how capitalistic the society is, a doctor's primary job is to treat patients, not to be a merchant.

Once I was taken back to an exam room, I was in there for an hour and fifteen minutes. I was not seen by a nurse or Dr. Miller during this over two hour period. NO ONE came to let me know when or if I'd be seen. No one came to take my vitals or let me know anything. Every time I looked out the door to find anyone to see what the major delay was, the hall was empty. I have degenerative disc disease in my low back. By sitting on their less than comfortable chairs for well over two hours. I couldn't take the pain anymore so I had to leave. I do NOT recommend this facility or Dr. Miller at all. They don't seem to care how long they leave patients waiting. I'm sure many patients are in pain just waiting unreasonably long hours just to see a doctor. It's down right shameful!. If I could have the option of selecting 0 stars, I would.

This doctor and the practice as a whole literally cares more about money than treating patients in my opinion. Do not even bother seeing anyone here if you're having issues with pain because you will be treated like a drug seeker(there's a sign warning patients of opiate addiction). They will already assume that you are a drug addict just because they've had patients in the past who became addicted to medications that they prescribed for pain. This insulting because not all patients or people for that matter with legitimate pain issues are drug seekers or become addicted to pain medication. Also, do not see this doctor or any other doctor here unless you can afford to pay your out of pocket deductible upfront and most likely all at once. You will have to pay whatever amount of your deductible you have not met all at once!!!! You will not be billed later. I have very good insurance with a $1,500 deductible which is on the low end as far as deductibles go and I was still billed $200 after having cortisone injections in my wrists for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Even after the insurance company paid the $1,600 that they billed. The crazy thing is the injections were not even done properly with an anesthetic so I'm not even sure why the bill was so high. Their billing person and receptionists are rude and disrespectful and you will be given the runaround over insurance and financial issues before you can even see the doctor. I have never seen this before anywhere else. Usually I just pay my copay($25) and get a bill in the mail. What's the point of having insurance if you cannot even use it? I wish I saw someone else sooner and saved myself the headache and stress on top of the pain I was already in as a result of my condition. If you have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, do not even bother with this doctor or Town Center Orthopedics. They do not offer the Endoscopic Release Surgery and only the traditional release one, which is more painful and requires a longer recovery period and they don't do a very good job of explaining it to you. Most likely because they DO NOT care. Their own PA said they do 6 or 7 of these a day so to them it is just about getting as many patients as possible and making a profit, which is disgusting. They made it seem like it was like having your wisdom tooth pulled and that the recovery period was shorts It just is not true because it is a painful procedure, leaves a scar, takes months for recovery, and they will only address the pain for a week with a weak prescription pain medicine called Norco. Norco! A week! You're likely to get a more powerful prescription for a less painful procedure like having your wisdom teeth pulled. Dr. Miller seems nice but does not care at all about your input and his PA is always in the room typing up everything that is said which is not only distracting but also makes you feel uncomfortable to ask the doctor anything. Needless to say, I'm glad I won't be going back for any further treatment and will look for another doctor who actually understands patients and their concerns. In short, this place is a joke and if you care at all about your health, value your self-respect, and looking for a respectful patient doctor experience then you owe it to yourself to AVOID Town Center Orthopedics like the plague. There are far too many Orthopedic practices and Orthopedic Surgeons in the Washington D.C. Area to choose from that offer cutting edge treatments and will care for you and your health issues rather than just seeing you as a walking bank account or assuming that you're a drug addict! I have never been more disgusted with a doctor's office or been treated so negatively by a doctor as I have by Dr. Miller and his staff. I hope my review helps other people make informed decisions and to know what they will likely experience seeking care from this place.

I was a skeptic as i began my recovery with them after being in a boot and unable to walk on it for two months. Walked in for my first apt in a boot nearly 3 months ago and now i'm out of the boot and getting very close to full mobility in my ankle, ALL BECAUSE of THEM!!! Their knowledge, support, encouragement and true commitment to help me, allowed me to heal better, faster and more completely than would have EVER happened without them. I have heard awful stories about physical therapists that friends have gone to so i didn't have much faith in the process, but i got REALLY lucky when i picked this practice. Rob is my Doctor there, and he, along with Melissa and Kellie, as therapists, have worked together to solve my recovery issues. It is ALL because of them that i will have a full and complete recovery with full mobility. As a 59 year old that has been very active my entire life, a full recovery was critical to me and my quality of life. I trusted them enough to do whatever it took to heal my injury and was consistent in the home assignments I was given. If anyone reading this has a current or old injury and you want to fully recover, THIS is the place to do it. Its a large, well lit, fully equipped facility. Ijust cannot thank and praise them enough!!!

This place was recommended by a PT from another organization where scheduling had become difficult…read more My teenage kid had ACL surgery and was three weeks post-op when we came here. As a travel athlete, the goal of rehab is not only healing but returning to peak performance. The first PT who assessed my kid was not friendly - I would probably say she was a bit condescending, and made us feel bad for allowing knee bending exercises, something both the surgeon and the previous PT had encouraged. She instructed us to stop all bending exercises, including heel slides, until further notice. When she sarcastically asked my kid to lift a straight leg and immediately pointed out the inability to do so, my kid explained that the foot was stuck on the table base. No chance to let her try again, PT moved on to whatever was next on her list of things to do. Despite nothing appearing abnormal in recovery, the PT dismissed our explanations and remained condescending throughout. I simply said we'd email the doctor's protocol to her rather than argue. We later learned from the second PT - not from scheduling, check-in, or even the first PT herself - that the initial PT was leaving in a couple of weeks as she was a traveling PT, and we'd be reassigned to someone else. Given that ACL rehab typically lasts 7-12 months (a timeframe she herself confirmed), it was disappointing that this wasn't disclosed upfront. It reflected a lack of continuity and care for the patient experience. The second PT was much kinder and even seemed surprised by the "no bending" instruction. He gave my kid very basic quad engagement exercises on the table with light stretching. However, he was clearly managing multiple patients at once, leaving my kid waiting between exercises. The appointment also ran to about 80 minutes, despite being told it would last an hour, and only ended because I mentioned we had to get to school. Afterward, I contacted the doctor, who advised us to stop going there immediately since not bending the knee could harm recovery. I would not recommend this place, especially for young athletes.
