As a result of the surgery I experienced a septic staph aureus infection of the blood stream. The infection was induced in the surgery . I was readmitted to the hospital through the ER where a second surgery was necessary to ":wash out": the original site. I was in the hospital for another 5 days with high dose intravenous anti biotics . The antibiotics were continued at home for 6 weeks. But again the infection came back after the antibiotic therapy at home ended,. Again back in the hospital for another 5 days and another "wash out ": surgery followed by IV antibiotics which continued for several months. Now in 2025 I learn that the base of the fusion did not fuse to the bone. It came loose. Now I have to go back for a fusion "revision" surgery with a year of recovery. A horrible experience that continues .

Dr. K performed my knee surgery and has been a great ortho doc for follow-up and future options for my other knee (my legs aren't straight (genetics)). His super knowledgable and does not recommend unnecessary tests, surgery, meds, etc. He will even go so far as to recommend physical therapy before advising on injections, surgery, etc. He also asks what you prefer and gives the options/possible outcomes with those options. He listens and gives his professional medical option after he hears what's going on with you. He also performed a rotator cuff surgery on my shoulder. Excellent bedside manners, explains everything, doesn't talk over you and follows up with you.

He was rude and made assumptions about my activities without checking to confirm. My treatment plan was 2 handouts with stretches. I asked if someone would show me any of them and they explicitly said no. But I could call with questions. Additionally, I expressed that I had pain in my ankle and hip. Past physical therapists said the hip pain was because of compensation from my ankle. Dr Stein it likely was something different but gave no recommendations for how to address it independently. Just come back in a month if it still bothers you. Stay away!

I had a right Hip Arthroscopy for FAI with Labrum Reconstruction on 4-19-2024. Immediately after surgery my hip pain was gone and the recovery was a breeze. I do not know if I am the exception but I was walking without crutches by day 11-12 without any issues. I Had hip labrum reconstructive surgery with Dr. Wolffe, and for over a year he insisted that the…read moreongoing pain in my hip was due to inflammation. I went back to him every 2 to 3 months for that year explaining to him that I was diligent with my physical therapy and taking the medication he told me to take, and yet the hip wasn't getting any better. But He continued to insist it was ongoing inflammation for over a year. Since he wasn't willing to consider what else it might be or offer any other solutions to help me, I went out and got a second opinion. So I saw another surgeon, and after he operated on me, he determined that I had extensive scarring inside my hip binding the hip flexor muscles to the hip capsule. After he removed all the scar tissue from my hip, it was much better and pain free. Dr. Wolff refused to consider that anything else may be going on, and so he wasn't able to help me. While a nice man, I found that he was rushed during our appointments and he wasn't always in the moment. So I don't feel he was always listening to what I had to say. Regardless, him continuing to insist my pain was due to inflammation for an entire year wasn't really him thinking about what else the problem might be or to consider other solutions.

I previously had the same surgery on my right foot with a different orthopedic surgeon, and the recovery was extremely long and painful. Because of that experience, I was honestly nervous going into this procedure. However, Dr. Schipper completely changed my expectations. I experienced minimal pain and very little swelling, and the healing process was fast and smooth. The incision work was excellent -- only three small incisions that healed beautifully. The difference in recovery compared to my prior surgery was night and day. Dr. Schipper is not only highly skilled but also very kind and reassuring. He takes time to explain everything and makes you feel prepared and comfortable before surgery. The office staff is also wonderful -- responsive, organized, and supportive throughout the entire process. You can truly tell he is very experienced in this procedure. Prior to the procedures, I could not walk due to the intense arthritic pain in both of my hips. I was very active prior to my arthritic hip pain and now after the surgeries, I am able to work out again at the same 6 days /week 100% intensity level. I have not had 1 second of pain or discomfort! The practice appears to me to be a well-oiled office. Doctors work well with physical therapists. Surgery is surgery. There is pain involved. But if you need surgery, I recommend Dr . Nov 2021 - Bike accident resulting in "skier's thumb" aka torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL). I…read moresaw a MedStar orthopedist in Jan/Feb who X-rayed it said it was torn but would heal. It didn't get better, so I saw Dr. Pan (OrthoVirginia) in April 2022. She ordered an MRI, said my ligament was string-thin, and strongly recommended surgery asap. This would've been expensive and inconvenient, so I visited WOSM in June 2022 for a 3rd opinion. Dr. Barth explained that the MRI showed my ligament is fine (acknowledging that the joint was still a little swollen and achy), and for some reason UCL injuries can take a year to fully recover. He said we could revisit surgery that fall if it's still problematic. I almost teared up with relief that I could avoid surgery (and that he was not a profit-seeking surgeon). Patience paid off, as I now have full strength, range of motion, and only occasional sensitivity at the extremes. I suspect lingering issues would have been worse if I had surgery.

I chose another pain center, National Spine and Pain, in the same area. During three visits I have never met the doctor, although visit records claimed that I had. The office experience was impersonal, waiting then rushing through the appointment. A neurologist diagnosed injuries requiring neck spinal fusion surgery. It stabilized my neck but left me with chronic pain. This time, I was able to make timely with ROSM. Each of my three visits so far have been directly with Dr. Imran Siddiqui, with assistance from attentive PAs. Dr. Siddiqui's manner is holistic and empathetic towards my pain. His approach itself reduced my anxiety. His careful diagnosis and treatment of my neck pain has produced results. The communication between me and the office via the patient portal is very efficient. I get a response from the receptionist Miss. Kaitlyn Lee within 24 hours. She also replies promptly to emails. Most practices take days to respond and sometimes require repeat requests. Kaitlyn is very personable and helpful for all patients there. Finally, I have never met any medical assistants who are as kind and understanding as Chawdry. I told him that he seems born to be a medical professional. He checked on me several times in a very caring way while I was waiting to see Dr. Siddiqui to make sure I was okay. He apologized for wait, even though it wasn't long. It was the opposite of my experience with the National Spine and Pain Center, where no one checked on me even though I was waiting for a long time. Whenever I visit ROSM, I feel that my health and wellbeing matter to each of the people in the office. Not only the doctor but also the staff members of ROSM empathy and care for the patient in their medical practices. I wish all other medical professionals would visit ROSM and learn from them how to manage a caring practice.

I had an appointment with Dr. John Ferrell on September 12, 2024, at the ROSM Washington, DC office…read morebut left before seeing him because I was not seen in a timely manner and left after an inappropriate time to wait. This is the second time I have experienced this problem with ROSM including previously in July with another doctor in the practice. Both times I was taken to an examining room in a timely manner and was left to wait in the room. After over 30 minutes, I left the room and spoke to one of the staff to ask if there was a problem. Both times I was told that the doctor was with another patient and would be in to see me in a while. My first complaint, therefore, is that it is not the patient's responsibility to determine why there is a delay. The doctor should instruct his/her staff to let the patient know that there is a delay and what are the patient's alternatives. Both times the staff person apologized for which I appreciate their apologies. An apology by a staff person, however, does not indicate that there will be any change in how waiting patients are informed of delays. On September 12, 2024, the staff person told me that the doctor was in a room with no clock, which is not an excuse but demonstrates poor planning by the doctor. Therefore, my second complaint is that the ROSM Washington, DC office is poorly managed and fails to properly plan appointment times for patients. I will not be returning to this practice for any reason.
