When I received a denial the first time I was surprised and heartbroken, but Stephanie spoke to me directly and settled my nerves by explaining that sometimes the VA will do so. She explained the next steps and what might happen even at the supplemental claim stage. When I received denial #2 from the VA it was not a surprise as the VA had once again not reviewed my actual paperwork submitted. Stephanie stayed on top of things and explained what a Higher level review might look like, reassuring me to trust the process. It is very difficult to have consistency​ in your therapy​ when appointments​ are so limited with your counselor​. If you are a working individual or a student it makes it even more complicated. The guys at the front desk are polite and nice, but terrible at relaying​ messages; therefore is impossible to communicate directly with your counselor​ since you cannot have their email nor their direct line. I know these​ guys are overworked; they keep taking clients under very low staffing. I know low staffing is out​ of their control, but accepting more clients when they cannot keep up​ with the ones they have is not OK. I felt obligated to quit​ after having such a difficult time booking the ​appointment​​s and delaying my therapy; at times I felt worst having to relive it and dealing with it for two or three weeks until my next appointment​. I always felt in a rush, and not enough time to deal with all the mess in my head. They say many things that they cannot keep. Therefore, I felt, though their intentions might be honorable; they were more damaging​ to me than helpful​. But remember, everyone's experience is different.​

I reached out to Anaheim Housing Emergency Rental Assistance Program, for about 4 months i was moved to 3 different case workers. They determined I was not qualified because I could not prove finances were related to the epidemic. I persisted in trying to prove with different paperwork they requested and still claimed my finances were not caused by the epidemic I was a 56+K salary to 1600.00 a month. i explained this was the only time I was asking for help after serving my country, and yet people that couldn't prove their residency were given priority. They had the audacity to ignore my service. They quoted military service had nothing to do with qualifying. I was outraged. serving the constitution of the country they live in, it did not matter. As soon as BBB3 came across my need, they jumped right on it. Efficiently, rapidly, they took the time to provide me with other services for the future and will continue. They made me feel like family, right at the beginning you could feel it in their attitude. They really care, we are all a family.
