Wow, that was nice surprise for me as the only real tennis store I have been to in the past 10 yrs is holabird in baltimore. I had to check out tennistopia, and I do remember their ads on the back of tennis magazines like 6 or 7 yrs ago. First impression, it's clean, very modern, bright, and organized. I like the looks of it. No one came up to me and harass me, I like that. Quickly I realized they do not carry a lot of products or brands. I noticed they mostly carry babolat and wilson racquets, some head and prince. If I was looking for PK, volkl, asics, gamma racquets, I would be out of luck here. Still for the major brands, they have mostly the pro series. Shoes wise, the same thing there as well, mostly player's model. I don't buy crazy overpriced nylon shirts and shorts, so I did not noticed much of their selections. What I like is that this store is a fresh breeze of air from holabird, friendly staff, well organize. They don't have a crazy owner who runs up to me and harass me like holabird. They have a decent lot of used racquet for sale. Their sales selection have really steep discount. What I am not a fan of is the limited selections on racquet and shoes models. Their stringing price is pretty high. Maybe it's the rich MoCo where $22 for labor is the norm, compared to us poor baltimorean who are expecting $12-16. Good thing I string my own...

Appointments are greatly recommended as Joe helps one customer at a time and does take her time to work with each customer. The store has a wide range of shoes/footwear with various levels of support. Joe was very patient with me and explained all the different options that would work best for me. She also had me try on a few different options until I was able to find the shoe that work best for me. Overall, definitely a place to go to if you are looking for shoes/ footwear with the right support for your feet!

I visited the store with intention to get help finding a suitable work shoes for my problem (flat foot, planter fasciitis, and small bunions) feet. Grayling warmly greeted me immediately as I entered. I informed him the purpose of my visit. First he measured my foot on a speciality digital foot machine. Then helped with picking out several pairs of shoes to try on. My options are limited due to restrictions we are allowed to wear with our company uniform. The ones he selected was perfect for comfort and meets company standards; however we both agreed they were basic but not stylish. Grayling was so patient and helpful during the lengthy time I was there trying to find something. He's super knowledgeable about feet and gave me a few helpful pointers to get the maximum comfort from my shoes. Wonderful first time experience and won't be the last. I was disappointed that I just didn't find anything that day cause I really wanted to purchase something from him. Highly recommend this location! Note - Grayling suggested checking out the Rockville location as they have more selections and stylish options due to the location. It was a totally opposite customer service experience. Didn't get her name but I believe she maybe the owner. Tall brown skin full figure mature women that was so RUDE. She refused to help me in selecting shoes or trying anything on. Only told me (in the most rude manner) " I can come back in two days cause they just got shipment but she's not putting it out, her husband will do it". We are generally so used to expecting the robotic layout of a regular multi-store business, that this store seems disorganized when you come here. I mean this in a nice way! Stay there for a few minutes and then you can see the method in the "madness". Everything was easy to find and we were able to get help when we needed it. The selection is quite good for all categories and we were able to get swim gear for our kids. We also got swim goggles too :) The prices here are not Amazon prices, and they do not match Amazon price too. But, we were able to try the gear on before buying and also did get advice on what the right gear is for our needs. Having said that, just like any small mom and pop business goes, trying to speak with them over the phone took a few phone calls but we were eventually able to speak with someone at the end. Limited Parking is available behind the store. Good local option for swim gear!

You won't find cheap rowers, bikes, barbells or squat racks here that won't last for a few months. I wish I knew about McCarty Fitness Supply sooner before I bought other brands online, I would have set up my home gym faster at a more affordable rate, but I'm glad I found out as soon as I did. They are higher priced than the Forever 21 accessory shop downstairs, but some of the Aldo items are of better quality. To prevent stealing, they put guards on the display hooks, so if you want to see something, you have to ask a sales attendant for help. The staff is helpful, but often its a teeny-bopper who would rather keep talking to their friend than help, but they always accommodate.
