Came in and got sized/ did the gait analysis in preparation for my first half marathon. I specifically mentioned that a friend had shared I should buy a pair of shoes that were about half a size or even a full size larger because feet can swell/ blister when running long distances. I also had worn out my custom inserts and asked if the employee could help me find a replacement pair. He chose a few things for me and I bought them all that afternoon. After running in my new shoes/ inserts for about a month I determined they didn't quite feel right. I went back to the store to ask some questions. Interestingly the woman who helped me strongly recommended I get a full size larger. She also said she never would have sold me the inserts the first guy recommended because they disn't actually fit my foot correctly... I specifically came to this store to get help choosing the right shoes/ inserts for my body but that didn't happen at all. I could have picked out better equipment on my own, instead I got up sold on shoes and inserts that make my running feel worse. read more

Had a great experience at the Boulder Running Co. @ Cherry Creek! It was my first visit to the store and my expectations were exceeded. I was looking to try on a pair of Hoka One One running shoes so I could purchase them online (the Hoka website had a sale going on, so I wanted to order the right size). Brandon gave me his full and undivided attention in the shoe dept. He brought out the sizes I requested, was very knowledgeable about the company, the science of the shoe, and the sizes of the styles of various Hoka and how they change over the years - who would have thought!? I told him about the sale that was going online and he wasn't pushy about me purchasing them in the store at all. Brandon found me a pair in my size that were on sale for $60 - compare that to the $78 sale on the Hoka website and the average price of these shoes in store ($120-$160). I tried them on and was sold! I appreciated the time and dedication I received from Brandon and the fact that I was able to support a local store here in CO instead of purchasing them online. I joined their free rewards program (spend $200 and get $10 towards your next purchase I believe) too. They have a good selection of Smart Wool socks and some clothing that I also saw in the store. Buy from REI instead! BOULDER RUNNING COMPANY has a TERRIBLE return policy. I purchased a pair of trail running shoes about 5 weeks ago from Boulder Running Company in Cherry Creek (Denver). While I was...trail running...I caught a rock on the inside of my foot which cut a half-inch hole in the side of the shoe. Major bummer because I like the shoes, but oh well, I thought, I can certainly exchange this pair for a new pair since 1. I recently purchased them and 2. The retailer and manufacturer will stand by their product. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE!!! I called Boulder Running Company (Cherry Creek). I explained what happened and asked if I could exchange my pair for a new pair. The representative on the phone informed me that he does NOT GUARANTEE any product he sells, and that I can only return a product if he can sell it brand new to the next customer. (How in the world can someone sell a used shoe brand new even if worn across the parking lot, the shoe would have obvious discoloration on the bottom)???? He told me to contact the manufacturer. OK, well that's pretty terrible customer service from Boulder Running Company. So, I called the manufacturer, who informed me that a rock cutting a hole in their TRAIL running shoes is NOT COVERED under warranty, and I cannot return the shoe for any other reason because I did not purchase directly from the manufacturer. REI (rei.com) will accept returns on almost everything for any reason up to 1 full calendar year!! I will only be purchasing from REI in the future. Boulder Running Company lost my business and I hope this comment is great advice for everyone reading. Zero stars should be an option. read more

Disappointing experience. Stopped in today to see what the store had to offer. I'm a big fan of another locally-owned run store and wanted to see what else is available. Well, walked in the store, walked around, tried on shoes, looked at clothes, saw employees and they saw me. I was in the store about 30 minutes and not ONE person acknowledged me in any way! Not one. Certainly I can figure things out, but it was a very disappointing experience. Needless to say, I won't be back to spend my money. I will stay true to Runner's Roost; they have always acknowledged when I walk in the store and they are very personable. read more

No pretentiousness, just knowledgable help from good people. I am a not-thin walker and I was dreading going into a running store to buy new shoes from skinny athletic folks who I feared would judge me for being out of shape. I was greeted immediately, and after waiting no more than two minutes was helped by Mike, the assistant manager. He really knows his stuff. He set me up with new shoes, inserts, and socks -- which all made a big difference in getting rid of my shin splints and helped me stick to my workout routine. The shoes feel amazing. But more important to me was how well I was treated. How quickly I was helped, and how Mike found exactly the right shoes for my feet/gait, was just a bonus. I'll definitely go back. read more

I have been power walking about 5 miles a day during the stay at home and regulation in place for Denver. As an older guy I was doing a lot of miles and my feet were killing me! My Family are runners and told me my shoes were all wrong and I needed to back off the mileage I was doing until I can go get some pro advice on what kind of shoes to buy. I went to the Boulder Running Company in Cherry Creek (I think day one of them re-opening) and can't say enough great things about them and the way they are handling customers due to COVID. Social distance entry to the store,disinfecting, PPE gear on employees, the pandemic never crossed my mind shopping there. Importantly, the Professional that helpded me with my shoes, Josha was amazing. He knew the products, suggested the best ones to correct all my issues and my first walk after the purchase was pain free for the first time in a long time. This kid was amazing! Worst experience online shopping ever. Ordered a pair of shoes that should have come in 10 days. I never got a tracking email so when I still didn't have them 2 weeks later I emailed the customer service and was told that it was backordered but no one had bothered to let me know that. I was not given the option of choosing another pair of shoes, instead, I was told I was going to see a refund in 3-5 business days. So when it still wasn't there 12 days later, I again had to email them to get it. So frustrating!! read more

I have always had good experiences with the BRC in Littleton and Boulder, but have not had good experiences here. I find the staff to be extremely disorganized, and they never seem to know what's going on! It took me three trips to the store and 4 phone calls to pick up a pair of running shoes that I ordered. I don't know if they need more time or more training, but I won't be back to the BRC in Cherry Creek anytime soon. read more

Unfortunately there are no stores anywhere close to me, so I have to do my purchasing online. I say UNFORTUNATELY for a reason ! Commonly they only ship HALF your order due to inventory (or lack of ) that is not updated online when you order. Secondly, anytime you need customer service, they either will not respond to the emails or if you DO have the have the 15-30 minutes to wait on hold for someone, they inevitably tell you that they will call you back within 24 hours with a resolution and they DO NOT call back. I have ordered NUMEROUS times from them and 50 % of the orders go through fine, the other 50 % are a major time waster trying to reach them and get them to handle it in an efficient and timely manner. I REALLY want to continue to order through Boulder Running Company and Jackrabbit.com, but I am not sure if the hassle and website inventory issues that you have to call back and get a refund on makes up for the large selection of items they have. May or may not give them one more chance.... I currently am working with them through an issue with an order and a week ago when I called, I was to get a phone call back within 24 hours with a remedy to the issue and I have YET to hear back from them. I emailed them instead of calling back and being on hold waiting for a rep for 15-30 minutes and of course, its been three days now and they have not responded to my email. I now have an unrectified issue and refunds that need to be handled and cant get them to contact me back, and I don't think I want to waste another 15-30 minutes of my life on a third attempt to get this handled ........frustrating read more

The employee helping me (Adam) was patient and thorough, talked me through a wide variety of choices for my needs, and matched me up with the best pair for me (despite it being one of the less expensive ones - they don't try to upsell you just to unload expensive shoes). Just used the Stride Lab (which they are currently offer a free 30 min eval) and it was awesome! They could tell a slight difference in my left leg vs my right leg, which is probably due to guarding that leg a little from my previous plantar fasciitis problems. Super cool and amazing service! I was looking forward to checking out the Cherry Creek location of Boulder Running Company after having such great experiences at other locations and took my boyfriend along to show him service they provide. Both of the sales staff that helped each of us really provided us no good advice and were quite apathetic about anything we asked. One of them just suggested going to sale rack. I ended up just picking a pair and just testing them out with out the assistance of anyone. One of the sales staff was even texting on their phone while they were talking to us. The store was hardly busy and everyone seemed quite checked out. Perhaps its better to go when its not toward the end of the day. read more

This one guy acted like an expert but he is not. My wife came in looking for a shoe and the guy was totally mansplaining away anything she was interested in. "You can't wear Nikes because you wore Nikes once and you got plantar fasciitis. A lot of people come in with injuries while wearing Nikes." First of all, that's a fallacy because your personal experience is not a substitute for actual evidence. But further, don't tell her that she can't have the shoe she wants (and that is for sale there) because of some systematic bias you have. Then she picked out a shoe from Asics and he says "nope, you can't have that either" without any reason. There was no foot assessment, no evaluation, no exam, and then he wants to pretend like he's some sort of physical therapist with his absolute recommendations. Buyer beware. Because the price point of most shoes here start at $120 and my suspicion is the store justifies this price through their "expert opinion." read more

Good selection and seemingly well informed salespeople to help you purchase the correct shoe and fit for you. I gave my sales associate a pass when he completely disregarded what I asked for and instead brought products he thought were best, I also gave him a pass as it was probably not of his own doing that he had the personality of a door knob. BUT, when he ripped the insoles box I was reading out of my hand and told me I did not need them as he slammed them down on the counter, I decided it was time to walk away. I kept my cool, courteously stated that I was going to walk away from the decision today, and he then stormed away muttering "I'm sorry we couldn't help you". I found out later that day that the company had been purchase by Finish Line; I can't tell if the Finish Line corporate culture has corrupt the small company or perhaps the new parent company's customer service ideals have yet to make it the new acquisition.
