This is one of the best restaurants we have visited in London for fresh fish. It's so good we go…read moreback every time we visit! The restaurant is in a cute little spot with a few other restaurants. Great vibe with indoor and some outdoor seating The fresh fish and wine pairings are outstanding. We started with sea scallops which melted in your mouth. So good! Then we got a bottle of white wine with fish pairings (they had 8 local options the night we visited). I had the sea bass, and my husband had the trout. So good that I picked that sea bass apart all the way to the bone, which is saying a lot given that it was a very meaty, generous portion already. I tasted the trout, and it was equally amazing. Very impressive and fresh! I wish we could've actually tried some dessert because others around us looked very happy, but we were so full it didn't make sense. If you like fish, go out of your way and stop here! You won't regret it.

It was so flavorful and almost had a meat-like texture, wrapped perfectly in the crisp phyllo dough. My partner went for the lamb roast, featuring tender, juicy pieces of lamb that tasted fantastic. We also enjoyed some pigs in a blanket and a side of stuffing. There was so much food that we shared our pigs in a blanket with the lovely ladies at the next table. If I could suggest one thing, it would be to ask for the gravy on the side of the stuffing so it doesn't get overwhelmed.

Excellent pub food and Excellent drinks! Stanley, the bar wizard, was a great guide to all about…read morethis fine pub! He introduced us to the owner who was quite the interesting and charming lady! The decor is great! The food is fantastic ( I loved the Moo Pieminister Pie!) The drink selection was wide, seasonable, and with Stanley taking time to let us taste many, it made it a 6 star experience! If you are a US NFL fan, do expect to this to be popular with Raven fans. There even is a Raven's pro helmet inside! This is where to go for great drinks and food!

We found this place by accident while taking a walk across the Tower Bridge, and we're glad we did!…read moreThe bartender, Stanley, was fantastic...pretty much gave us a beer tasting before we'd even got started. As with most places here, there's no air conditioning so in this hot London day (30°+C) they had the door and windows open which gave it a nice breeze and very comfortable. Stanley talked me into trying the Aspall cider and it was so very cool and refreshing (and he wasn't stingy on the pour either!). We got in before dinner service began so we chilled with our drinks (my bf settled on the Madrí lager...less hoppy than we typically find at home in the U.S.). I wanted the Moo PieMinister but, unfortunately, they were out of the ingredients so I ordered the bangers and mash instead and washed it down with a nice cold blood orange cider. My bf ordered the Cottage Pie. Both were delicious. We received outstanding, friendly service and the staff is exceptional. If you happen to be a Baltimore Ravens fan, they have memorabilia for you and cater to those fans when they're playing in London. I don't remember the names of the other two we met (owners/managers?) but they were very nice and chatted with us for a while. They had a steady flow of customers come and go while we were there but it was early yet so not crowded.

Pros: Location is wonderful. Very centrally located via bus…read moreor train. Ambiance is like your first time visiting Disney World. Whimsy and discovery as you get lost around all the different corners. It's a lot of fun. Service is great, as well. Very friendly stall operators, and they have a lot more alternatives than we do in America. Non-dairy, vegan, allergy-free everywhere you do, and they taste pretty good, too. Food is exquisite. It has to be. There is so much competition all around, if a stall doesn't offer amazing food, I imagine they'd get kicked out very quickly. Cons: No cons really. The prices are even usually reasonable. Tips: Don't eat until you arrive. Be very hungry, share lots of things with lots of people. Try everything.

Borough Market is an absolute food lover's paradise. You can find just about anything you may be…read morecraving. Sandwiches, tacos, seafood, mac and cheese, paella, fresh fruits and more. It was easily one of my favorite spots to have the pleasure of visiting! The main highlight for me was The Black Pig. Their slow-roasted pork sandwiches are unbelievable. Both the honey and spicy sandwiches were delicious but very different. The spicy sandwich had pesto and that went well with the pork and veggies. The honey version was more savory, but still amazing. Both sandwiches had a nice hint of smoky flavor which was nice. The fresh parm was killer. Beyond the Black Pig, the whole market is packed with delicious pulls. Things like artisanal bread, incredible chocolate, and several vendors with great coffee. There was jackfruit on site and that was a treat! it's just a fantastic place to wander around and eat your way through. I recommend starting early to beat the crowds and skipping breakfast.

Well, well, well…read more Village East is no more. Long live Loyal Tavern, the new prince of Bermondsey! We've only been for brunch, which was fabulous: generous full English with sausage, bacon, black pudding, two perfectly fried eggs, and toast; ham Benedict; streaky bacon; and eggs bread with half a caramelized banana and salted caramel ice cream for dessert. Service was excellent and attentive. The seating in the back is a little tight; seats along the middle will get bumped by every server and diner who pass by. The view is of a back alley. But that food! We only wish we had found it sooner so we could have eaten there more often. Prices seem quite low for the quality of the food. Highly recommended, well worth a trip to Bermondsey from anywhere in London.

This spot has a lot of potential, but three stars because I feel it has a bit of work to get there…read more We ordered the turnip hummus with truffle and flatbread. The hummus was wonderful, very smooth and silky, however there was not nearly enough flatbread for the hummus given. It was inevitable that we would have to ask for more flatbread, would have just been nice if it came with more pieces, at least 4 (came with 2). The blackened cauliflower was what I was most excited about, but while the tahini sauce was lovely, the cauliflower was just a tad above room temperature and not cooked enough. I ordered the celeriac option and the staff was super nice about accommodating my vegan diet; however, the kitchen forgot to leave out the egg and I pierced it by accident. Not great. The veggie broth in the dish was delicious, but celeriac was kind of dead, drenched in it. Would have also been nice for the dish to have a grain or bean for some substance. We had the brownie and banana bread for dessert. The brownie was nice as it was warm out of the oven - the banana bread was pretty disappointing and the pistachio cream on it was way too dense. Again, a lot of potential, but a lot to work on before getting to 4 stars in my books.
