We found this place by accident while taking a walk across the Tower Bridge, and we're glad we did! The bartender, Stanley, was fantastic...pretty much gave us a beer tasting before we'd even got started. As with most places here, there's no air conditioning so in this hot London day (30°+C) they had the door and windows open which gave it a nice breeze and very comfortable. Stanley talked me into trying the Aspall cider and it was so very cool and refreshing (and he wasn't stingy on the pour either!). We got in before dinner service began so we chilled with our drinks (my bf settled on the Madrí lager...less hoppy than we typically find at home in the U.S.). I wanted the Moo PieMinister but, unfortunately, they were out of the ingredients so I ordered the bangers and mash instead and washed it down with a nice cold blood orange cider. My bf ordered the Cottage Pie. Both were delicious. We received outstanding, friendly service and the staff is exceptional. If you happen to be a Baltimore Ravens fan, they have memorabilia for you and cater to those fans when they're playing in London. I don't remember the names of the other two we met (owners/managers?) but they were very nice and chatted with us for a while. They had a steady flow of customers come and go while we were there but it was early yet so not crowded. read more
