Did not disappoint! We ordered the chicken and waffles, and the shrimp and grits platter and everything was full of flavor. The chicken wings were crispy and well-seasoned, paired perfectly with the fluffy waffles and syrup. The shrimp and grits were buttery and rich with just the right amount of seasoning, definitely hit the spot. The portions were generous and the food was hot and fresh when we got it. You can tell they care about what they're putting out. Definitely a great spot to grab some soulful breakfast down south. Looking forward to going back!

The customer service was everything and the food was so good but that Arnold Palmer was 10/10

The service was like coming HOME...and I loved it. Literally felt like family and this was my first time here. Now for the food...I got the chicken and waffles, with grits and eggs and added sauteed onions. The chicken was NEXT LEVEL good...and the waffles came with powdered cinnamon I believe and was good without syrup. The sauteed onions were freaking EPIC a long with the grits. The eggs were about average...it wasn't bad...but it was world class...but eating the whole meal as a collective... simply AMAZING. My only gripe is that this food is so good, I wish they had an area to dine in but unfortunately it's takeout only. If you are in the area you HAVE to try them out... YOU'RE WELCOME

Fried pork chop w home fries and eggs

A pretty good place for southern breakfast/brunch. I had the chicken waffle, and was given a choice of belgian or regular waffle. I tried the belgian version, and gosh it was fluffy light and so delicious. The chicken is crispy on the outside and tender inside, though some pieces are overly salty. My husband ordered the pork chop and he didn't enjoy it as much, finding it too dry and tough. The price is very reasonable and the service friendly. I'm interested to be back to try their other dishes, especially the shrimp and grits.

The shrimp and grits were absolutely AMAZING‼ No matter where you're coming from it's worth the trip‍

Great food! The service is always fast and a welcoming environment. Easy to find and and parking is abundant.

The most perfect home fries in the universe.

I found this place thanks to Yelp, so please allow me to give back, in the form of this review. First, you need to understand that I hate brunch. I have the bottomless and the shitty takes on breakfast food but more expensive and I hate people who brunch. What I do love is breakfast. Simple, pure breakfast. No hot takes. No drunken girls wooing. Just people grabbing sustenance for their day without drama or sunglasses on their head. Flava's is almost the distillation of a perfect breakfast place. They close at noon, so you can't even get anything with "unch" in the title. They have a simple menu of proteins and eggs and sides. I got eggs, sausage and homefries. The eggs were good. The sausage was real big sausage that was not some weak small breakfast sausage. And the home fries were literally perfect. Far too many times, home fries are simply slices of potato with some crappy onion that sit on a grill for 2-4 minutes, which is long enough to get them slightly warm, but not long enough to crisp and this is a war crime. The home fries at Flava's were small tiny pieces of potato that were all perfectly crunchy and crisp. Like they cloned the best home fry and then shrunk it and made tons of them. This restaurant makes me want to petition Yelp to create a 6th star.

Went here and it was suppose to be open and it wasn't. In a sketchy neighborhood and looked like a dump.

Such a fun night out spot. Food wise, the oxtail mac and cheese was INSANE. Easily my favorite thing we ordered. The fried chicken was also so good and I honestly wish we ordered more. Cornbread was another favorite. I'm not really a collard greens person so they weren't for me, but everyone else loved them. The dessert had a little too much going on for my taste, but our waiter did warn us beforehand lol. Service was amazing. The music was great, putting the audience in a good mood, ready for an eventful Friday night. I was hoping to enjoy a meal, but I was highly disappointed. Let's get into the details: Apps: Oysters- I wasn't a huge fan of the Coco Passion mignonette; it had a subtle flavor and missed the brininess of the oyster. The house-made hot sauce definitely made it more flavorful, adding spice and acid. Also, why weren't they chilling on ice? Rating 3/5. Conch Fritters: Fried, fluffy, and tasty. It was also paired with a dipping sauce to add a little bit of twang and spice. Rating: 3.5/5 Entree's: Jerk NY Strip- I would never qualify that as a jerk sauce; there was no spice, it was more like a sweet chutney sauce that smothered the steak. The steak looked and tasted like it was boiled, with no sear. The rice was crunchy and a little undercooked. It reminded me of the scrapings from the bottom of a large pot of rice. The plantain needed to be cooked a bit longer; they were really firm. Rating: 1/5 Cornbread crusted snapper- The fish was fried well, but it was underseasoned. You could tell they didn't season the fish fry batter. A bit of salt sprinkled after the cook would go a long way. The beans were tender and also a bit underseasoned, but the dish was very light. Rating 3/5 Oxtail Mac and Cheese- That was more of a safer and tastier option, but I'm not sure why a lot of the sauces are so sweet. The mac and cheese was cheesy and creamy with tender, shredded bits of oxtail. Rating: 4/5 I would come back for drinks and live music, but I will definitely skip dinner.
