Did not disappoint! We ordered the chicken and waffles, and the shrimp and grits platter and everything was full of flavor. The chicken wings were crispy and well-seasoned, paired perfectly with the fluffy waffles and syrup. The shrimp and grits were buttery and rich with just the right amount of seasoning, definitely hit the spot. The portions were generous and the food was hot and fresh when we got it. You can tell they care about what they're putting out. Definitely a great spot to grab some soulful breakfast down south. Looking forward to going back!

The service was like coming HOME...and I loved it. Literally felt like family and this was my first time here. Now for the food...I got the chicken and waffles, with grits and eggs and added sauteed onions. The chicken was NEXT LEVEL good...and the waffles came with powdered cinnamon I believe and was good without syrup. The sauteed onions were freaking EPIC a long with the grits. The eggs were about average...it wasn't bad...but it was world class...but eating the whole meal as a collective... simply AMAZING. My only gripe is that this food is so good, I wish they had an area to dine in but unfortunately it's takeout only. If you are in the area you HAVE to try them out... YOU'RE WELCOME

A pretty good place for southern breakfast/brunch. I had the chicken waffle, and was given a choice of belgian or regular waffle. I tried the belgian version, and gosh it was fluffy light and so delicious. The chicken is crispy on the outside and tender inside, though some pieces are overly salty. My husband ordered the pork chop and he didn't enjoy it as much, finding it too dry and tough. The price is very reasonable and the service friendly. I'm interested to be back to try their other dishes, especially the shrimp and grits.

I found this place thanks to Yelp, so please allow me to give back, in the form of this review. First, you need to understand that I hate brunch. I have the bottomless and the shitty takes on breakfast food but more expensive and I hate people who brunch. What I do love is breakfast. Simple, pure breakfast. No hot takes. No drunken girls wooing. Just people grabbing sustenance for their day without drama or sunglasses on their head. Flava's is almost the distillation of a perfect breakfast place. They close at noon, so you can't even get anything with "unch" in the title. They have a simple menu of proteins and eggs and sides. I got eggs, sausage and homefries. The eggs were good. The sausage was real big sausage that was not some weak small breakfast sausage. And the home fries were literally perfect. Far too many times, home fries are simply slices of potato with some crappy onion that sit on a grill for 2-4 minutes, which is long enough to get them slightly warm, but not long enough to crisp and this is a war crime. The home fries at Flava's were small tiny pieces of potato that were all perfectly crunchy and crisp. Like they cloned the best home fry and then shrunk it and made tons of them. This restaurant makes me want to petition Yelp to create a 6th star.

I was in the area getting my car fixed and was in the mood for a good breakfast. I'm not familiar with the area so I yelped it and thought I would give this place a chance. I'm so happy I did. The food was really good I got the chicken and waffles BOMB! The service was great. Loved the vibes and hospitality! The owner gave my husband and I a bible and shared his story. I was all smiles in there from the minute I walked in till I walked out. read more

Dropped in to check this place out. Very clean and fast service, staff was extremely friendly and made me feel at home. But now to the good stuff- food was delicious! So hard to find a good southern food place around here. Shrimp and grits were really good. Corn beef hash and you must order the bacon!!!!! Definitely worth it. This was one of the most amazing places to eat that I have ever been. I feel like the menu was very simplistic and the flavor was outstanding. There is an immediate feeling of welcome when you enter the building. I love the staff and the food that they prepare. The decorations and plaques are absolutely amazing to look over and read. I ended up grabbing the grits, corn beef hash, and over easy egg. I cannot say enough good things about them. The seasoning was perfect and I wanted to lick the plate clean. The cost was negligible and the value was outstanding. I am ready to go back and eat here again. If you're looking for an amazing breakfast with with good ambience, then this is where you need to visit. Don't be shy and come in and give it a try. read more

This place is meant for the drunkchies. Cheap food, delicious chicken, and great waffles. Honestly I wouldn't put wings together with waffles but stand alone they were special. The shrimp and grits were to die for. Great texture on the grits, not soupy at all and shrimp was not rubbery, great taste---creole sensation. I love soul food and this is the place to come to. read more

The customer service was terrific. We were greeted as we entered and the menu options were explained in detail. My husband got the chicken & waffles. It was TREMENDOUSLY DELICIOUS! The waffle was coated in a brown sugar dusting which gave it a great twist along with the saltiness of the chicken wings. No syrup needed. I had eggs and home fries which were surprisingly very flavorful. I would highly recommend Flava's! We'll be back if we visit Miami again. Just a headsup, the location might scare some away, but the food is worth it! read more

Looking for something different? This place caught my eye as I was scrolling through breakfast places close to home. Had the salmon croquette and the chicken and waffles. Everything was delicious. I just left here with a take out order for my aunt and man it was so good, I'm going back. I ordered the chicken and waffles and got a Belgian waffle. The waffle smelled like cake and taste like heaven. The order wasn't for me, but I ate most of it. The chicken was so seasoned and perfect we almost fought for the last piece. My aunt got the liver and grits and she enjoyed it. It was seasoned perfectly and the grits had taste, which is rare because most places just serve bland grits where you have to season yourself. I'll definitely going back. The staff was amazing and attentive. It felt like Cheers, they knew the regulars' names and orders. Great job! read more

So first of all the location gives you the vibe and feeling you are in a real southers style local type restaurant where they greet you with open arm. And thatis exactly how i was welcomed, never have i walked into a restaurant where the staff greets you with a handshake and "Good Morning sir". The chemistry the staff shows towards one another is a thing of beauty, while they weren't waiting on anyone (it was a slow morning with 1 take-out [me] and 2 tables seated) they were dancing and clowning around as if they have been friends all their lives, which is something i enjoy seeing specially from a place serving food. If a person is happy and cooking, guaranteed you're eating good. The food..... oh the food i had the shrimp and grits with eggs, toast and a side of salmon. I'm sure i ate with my eyes but not an ounce of regret runs through my body. The shrimp had a small kick to it but I'm a fan of spicy and hot and even if you aren't too fond of spicy I'm sure it managable. I really couldn't wait and slightly burnt my mouth with the hot grits but it was too good to even stop and let it cool and I'm not even mad at that. Definitely be back soon! read more

Thank God I found this place down south in Miami ! I read the yelp reviews and yes... it lives up to the hype! I was one of the first customers today. The service was great. I went with the chicken and waffles. I've had it in Texas,and it was ok... I must say the dish was totally divine! I went with the Belgians. They were the best Belgian waffles I've ever had...the right amount of crunch and texture. The fried chicken was just about good as my late mother's! I used a small amount of syrup because the flavor of the waffle was so good! I highly recommend this place. I will be back for more! They really have the flava! read more

The service is horrible they took 20 minutes to make my Belgian waffle after making waffles for other customers who came after me. Also they gave me food without my utensils my eggs were also really slimy and runny. If your going to eat here make sure to call and order food and just pick it up do not dine in...!!! The drive thru was kinda short today but it is usually packed so be prepared to wait. I ordered the large jumbo shrimp and fries combo. It was $22. The shrimp was really good. I requested lemon pepper seasoning on top, they didn't give a lot of seasoning but it was still good. To my knowledge people are purchasing or ordering based on the price they see not guessing what the price could be after you ring up. At no time did the person at the register tell you the price changed. The manager was also not helpful even after I stated that they should go out and put a note for customers that the prices have changed. The service was poor and Customer Service was a 0. Basically they didn't care and that could be based on the neighborhood's clientele. Which should not be the case. People are spending money and should be provide with the optimal service and correct pricing regardless.

I went with my wife to have brunch on a Friday morning and the staff was very friendly. Quite a large place that has a coffee shop vibe but also serves hot food. I had Fried Porkchop that was amazing. My wife had the Salmon Croquettes and it was so good and very delicious food as well. The menu was great and they have plenty of options. Great breakfast. No complaints whatsoever. I didn't get exactly what I ordered, but I'm not one to complain as what I did receive was just as good. They have a great menu and has delightful options for a breakfast meal. Well-created waffle and egg, very perfect for breakfast. The portion was good. Great food. We got a seat quickly and the next table so we felt totally comfortable. We had a great breakfast this morning. The service was nice, didn't have to wait on a late Sunday morning. I had the Salmon Croquettes and Fried pork chop. I thought I would only be able to eat half, but I managed the whole thing. Only had black coffee a so can't comment on the beverage choices. Great food! Greater portions! The staff was super friendly. The service was quick. And the place had a really good warm vibe. They have a delightful menu and breakfast meals have great options. We ordered the Chicken and waffles breakfast and the Salmon Croquettes, with a side of scrambled eggs. Pairing with a cup of coffee and it was an amazing meal. I love this place so much. Had a great brunch here. The place looks nice, it's neat and I love their food. I've been visiting this place for quite some time now.
