I had to wait while they prepped it. It was very tasty. Not a lot of ackee, but that is to be understood. Still tasty. While I was waiting, there was a steady stream of customers coming in. People were ordering Ox Tail, Jerk Pork, and the soup of the day Pumpkin Beef. I wanted to also try the Pumpkin Beef Soup, available only on Saturday, but as it was almost 5:00pm most of it was already gone. Regae music was playing while the chef and the two people taking care of the customers were working. The facility is nothing fancy, selling food that tastes homemade and carrying goods from Jamaica. The people are friendly and the prices seem to be on point with other Jamaican restaurants in South Florida. You can eat there, as there are a few tables and a couple of customers were enjoying their meal when I got there. I chose to take my food home. I am sure I will be going back to try other food. The menu is pretty much the same each day, with daily special soups and entrees. Bonus, they have vegetarian options for the entrees.

Drove a short distance to a lot next to Dollar General where simple tables, a a couple of vehicles, a pop up tent, and a smoker turn into a stellar culinary emporium. There are only two things on the menu, ribs and chicken. Two sauces, sweet bbq and Jamaican jerk. We decided to try both. With a mixture of the two sauces. Two small orders ran $35 but, despite the designation "small," these are HUGE portions. But size dirs not matter if the taste is lacking. But the ribs and the chicken were both exquisitely flavorful. The iwner Elbert gave us a nice little portion to taste while he packed up our order. These hot off the grill ribs were seasoned with a marvelous tasting rub and were delicious with and without sauce. The chicken was surprisingly moist and extremely tasty. Both entrees came with bread but no side dishes are offered. I must say that if sides were offered and some tables set up so that the whole meal could be eaten hot off the grill, Elways Smokehouse would rival enen the very best of barbecue. For now, I see it as the best barbecue takeout in the area. Enjoy!
