    Mini golf

If you are spending any time in downtown Spokane, this should be on your list of places to stop, hands down! This is one of our favorite things to do when we come up from Arizona. First, the environment is just so fun and laid back. The staff are all great and really helpful. It's all ages before 8pm, so our teenagers love to hang out there before the night crowd comes in. We always come during the happy hour (M-F 3-6pm) to get the $12 pizzas that feed our crowd and the music has always been on point. Free water and tons of drinks to choose from. Take home pint glasses available for purchase as well as other merch. The mini golf and Duffleboard are both 9 hole games and the score cards you use for 5 players. The mini golf has fun obstacles and Duffleboard (combo of shuffleboard and golf) is a unique, fast paced good ole time. Wickets is a first to the flag game with 9 wickets (think croquet with golf balls and putters). Having the shorter hole courses helps things move along pretty quickly but also you could spend one hour or several just going back and playing all the games again. Perfect for the competitive types and the casual players. It's not as easy it might look. If you want to sit back at a table or booth and take in the offerings of the pub, chat, people watch, play a board game or cards, you can do that too. They also have nights were they host bingo and game night. You can also book space for a private event or large group. Highly recommend and sometimes you can even find them on Groupon. Side note: parking is either street parking at meters (free after 7pm on weekdays) or in one of the parking garages nearby. The meter parking is the cheaper bet and gives you 2 hours.

You had me at mini golf. A little-known secret about me - I'm excellent at mini golf. So, when my friends who were visiting from out of town came to visit Spokane, I suggested we do something active while we drank beer and Flatstick Pub seemed like the obvious choice. After grabbing a beer, we went to check-in for mini golf. A kid's birthday party had just started the course, so we were given a free round of duffleboard to keep us occupied until we could get on the course. I am however terrible at duffleboard. But it was still fun and I'm glad we tried it. Once it was our turn, we headed over the mini golf course and were able to play through pretty quickly. I think we only spent about an hour there because we had a dinner reservation to get to, but I would totally come back and hangout here. It's a fun environment and conveniently located in in downtown Spokane. Which also means that parking in one of the nearby lots might be a bit pricey, but you could always uber or grab one of the many lime scooters to get here too.

I'm into Flatstick and have made it a point to check out all of them. I am anxiously awaiting the opening of Tacoma and Redmond. This one ranks higher for me than Bellingham or Kirkland, it seems more like South Lake Union. This location was not open on my last drive thru, but this time it was priority number 1 on my stop off to Spokane. This place was busy on a Friday afternoon, but it's large and has some space to spread out. Like all Flatstick's it has an impressive tap list. It's in downtown Spokane and parking can be a bit tricky, but close to many things including Riverfront park. I really liked the mini golf course here, I love the hole that incorporated the Bloom's Day Run. We also made good use of the duffleboard course, I refused to leave until I had managed a hole in one on all 9. We also checked out the wickets game, but not sure if we truly played this correctly. I'm sad my friend declined to meet us for this amazing fun, if I was closer I would definitely bring more friends here to show it off.

PRETZEL PRETZEL PRETZEL!!! We were just walking around town and saw Flatstick Pub. We needed to burn an hour of time so we decided to check it out. While we didn't play any of the games there are several fun games for the kids and adults to enjoy. We had dinner plans in a couple of hours so we were just going to grab beers. But someone decided to get a pretzel and we all tried a bite and it was the best pretzel we had ever tasted and ordered two more! Definitely get the pretzel and enjoy one or more of the many local brews they offer. I tried a beer from No Li and eventually had to go check that brewery out!

My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary before our fancy dinner. He was in charge of the fancy dinner and I was in charge of happy hour. I chose this place to give us a little bit of fun before hand and it was such a good idea. The staff was amazing first of all - accommodating and really friendly. We did the mini golf and the shuffleboard and while I was terrible at both it was so fun. It was cool to see our whole city be setup on each of the courses. We only had drinks but they were tasty - a margarita and a mule! Very typical for us. We had a blast and the pictures are cute. Enjoy if you go and bring the whole family.

Bottom Line: what a great golf-themed sports pub that has a fun vibe and family friendly. While it's normally hard to please two completely separate demographics (college vs family), Flatstick does it with ease. It's a must try. Try this place if you are visiting downtown Spokane and you need a place to just chill on a Friday night or if you want to bring some of your out-of-town friends to sit down and catch up. There's plenty of seats for large groups and the open seating arrangements makes it ideal for large groups. There's a lot of TVs for those epic games you're trying to watch as a group and there's plenty of putt-putt games, shuffle boards, and mega-Jenga prices to keep the children entertained. The beer list and cocktail lists are epic. There's something for everyone and a nice Shirley Temple for the kiddos. The food menu is somewhat limited but there's enough bar food type items to keep everyone happy. Plus there's ice cream... which may or may not be a good idea to mix with your alcohol... unless it's Baileys. This place is a must try.

We were looking for something fun to do and found this cool place within walking distance of our hotel, Flatstick Pub. This is a really cool pub with a fun atmosphere and is themed around the sport of golf. The restaurant itself is very spacious and there is a whole section to play mini golf and "duffleboard" (a mix between mini golf and shuffleboard). The beer selection consists of locally sourced beers and it was a pretty wide variety to choose from. Since we didn't know what to get we decided to order a flight of beers to go along with our pizza that we ordered. The food and beer selections were great. After eating we went for a round of mini golf. We had an enjoyable time at Flatstick Pub. The restaurant, the food and the staff were great, and getting to play mini golf after dinner was a welcome treat. Great place to go with friends or even for a fun date night. Give them a try!

SUCH a fun time here! After a week skiing in Sandpoint, we were staying nearby and happened to walk by and holy good times. We had our two teenage sons with us and we loved the amazing service by literally everyone in the bar. This being our first time playing duffleboard, we weren't sure what to expect, but what a way to spend a chilly day after walking all over downtown Spokane. They are clear about no kiddos after 9 and no problem with that here...we had plenty of time to get round after round in and even caught a few games of bingo before heading out. It's a must try, especially during the day when you've got your kids with!

Every contact I've had with Grain Shed employees has been more than pleasant; they truly seem to enjoy working there, and take good care of their customers. I need to shout out to Toby and Audrey before I go on. They each provided 110% on customer service, being personable and making sure we left happy. On 2 separate trips to Spokane, I've visited the Grain Shed 3 and 4 times over the course of 3 days (yes, if you do the math, I went twice in 1 day, and the restaurant was NOT just around the corner!) Everything I've tried is delish, but in case you have to limit yourself, I highly recommend the OG, the beets and feta toast, the bread flight with sauces and cheese, the molasses ginger cookie, and maybe a chocolate croissant. I've heard their bread pudding and pumpkin pie (holiday special) are out of this world! I tried to get over to listen to their live music before leaving town, but still need to squeeze that into my schedule. Travelers: save space in your luggage for a loaf of bread. Sadly, no shipping at this time, but I'm waiting for it! This SoCal resident is officially The Grain Shed's #1 fan. I dare any of you to try to take away my title!

The Grain Shed does a farm to table model and is a bakery and brewery. I got a snack here along with a beer and left quite satisfied. And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish. Another beer that Steve and I tried was the INWPA which was a Pale Ale. It was also a nice light bodied beer which again hit the spot despite it being a different drinking session. Flavor characteristics in this beer is citrus, a yeastiness, hoppiness and a biscuity trait. Good beers and sandwiches and we are aiming for a return whenever we are in Spokane again.
