The atmosphere was really enjoyable -- the space has a great vibe, the drinks were well made, and overall it feels like somewhere that could become a favorite spot downtown. The food was decent as well, though not especially memorable. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the positives. From the moment we walked in, we felt more like an inconvenience than welcomed guests. The host greeted us while remaining seated at the bar and simply told us to "sit anywhere," which immediately set an odd tone. When I asked for paper menus, I was told they only use QR codes. Normally that wouldn't be a huge issue, but the menu was around 15 pages long with tiny font, making it frustrating to navigate on a phone. Once our food arrived, we essentially never saw our server again. No check-ins, no refill offers, no asking if we wanted another round of drinks -- nothing. Meanwhile, staff members were gathered at the bar loudly talking among themselves and openly complaining about being there, which was uncomfortable to listen to as customers trying to enjoy a night out. Eventually, we had to walk up to the front bar ourselves just to pay our bill. That was the most disappointing part because the restaurant truly has the foundation to be excellent. The ambiance and drinks are already there, but hospitality matters just as much as the food. A little attentiveness and genuine customer service would have completely changed the experience. We absolutely would have ordered more drinks and likely stayed longer if anyone had checked on us. Hopefully management takes service more seriously, because this place could be great with the right staff culture and attention to guests.

Being an 80s kid, we used to say 'bad', but it actually meant 'good'. "That haircut is so bad" was…read moreactually a compliment. To avoid confusion, 'bad' turned to 'rad' (short for radical). Goat used to be bad...if a kid was the goat on the team, he was the worst player. Now, goat has turned to 'Greatest of all time' due to the acronym G.O.A.T. So when we went to dine at The Flying Goat in Spokane, the question on my mind is...will it be 2000's GOAT, or 1980's goat? The interior was pretty small but a unique layout of tables. I liked the darkness of the restaurant and the darker wood they use for accents and the bar. They also have a larger patio that is adorned with space heaters, umbrellas, and a wooden shady overhang...so no matter the weather you may be able to enjoy your meal outdoors. They also have a private event building that can seat a party. Our server was attentive and helpful. We did get there right when they opened for lunch, but that doesn't always equate to good and special attention. We ordered two of their artisan pizzas for our table of 3. The 'Fairview' was a must order and a huge hit. It used a heavy cream base and a house cheese blend. The toppings were house back bacon, gorgonzola sprinkles and pears...yes pears, which made this sucker pop! We also ordered a Lacrosse pizza- olive oil, fresh mozz, red peppers, italian sausage, pecorino and basil. This pizza was really light but packed a flavor punch as well. They have many other specialty pizzas on their menu that also sound amazing, ranging from yellow curry based to ones with snap peas, fried eggs, carrots and more. If artisan pizzas aren't your jam, they have sandwiches, salads, stews and more. To answer my original question...this place is the 2000s Goat...or very close to GOAT. Not my favorite all-time pizza place, but definitely in contention! Thanks Flying Goat for an amazing lunch!

I've been coming here for awhile, but no longer will be. For the past couple months I've noticed they've really decreased the amount of ID checking and verification which is allowing minors to become more recurrent. This feels extremely shady to me and I do not want to go to a bar allowing this type of behavior and will be telling close friends and family about this as well. Hopefully management resolves this issue soon, might even send in a tip so they can start busting down on this! Not acceptable. read more

Big points for that. We went with the pizza and were pleasantly surprised to find a solid gluten-free option, which was both appreciated and well executed. Since that's all we tried food-wise, I won't pretend to judge the full menu--but based on what we had, it's a strong start. The beer selection looked great with plenty of variety, and the whole vibe of the place is just fun. The miniature golf setup is a really cool touch and adds a unique, playful energy that makes this spot stand out from your typical pub. Everything about the experience was positive. I'm holding back that last star only because I want to come back and try more of the menu--which I'm pretty confident will be just as good. Definitely worth checking out.

The pizza came out while I was chowing down on the corn-dogs, but it was still hot when I finished the dogs and moved on to the main dish. The crust was a mix of thin and hand-tossed, not overtaking the pizza but thick enough to hold the toppings.
