There are a lot of breakfast places in Winslow. Flatbed Ford Cafe, in my opinion is the best. We sat outside on a beautiful, albeit windy morning. Hang on to your napkins! The service was good but a little weird. One waitress was very rude, and didn't seem to want to be there. The 2nd one was fabulous, that's the only reason I kept 5 stars. My husband and I split an enormous chorizo burrito. The chorizo was crispy and so very good. The burrito was covered in red and green salsa and loaded with cheese. Our friends had breakfast enchiladas. Filled, covered in sauce with two fried eggs on top. They could have split theirs too. Parking on the street or the lot across the street. Loved it! read more

Nostalgic Restaurant with a Route 66 vibe, located across and just down the street From "The Corner" in Winslow Arizona. We had high expectations as we stopped in For lunch. Our server was great when we ordered, however after that it was up to the cook to bring out our food. We ordered chips and salsa and fried "hot" pickles as an appetizer however they did not arrive until we were half done with our sandwiches. The first set of pickles were burned and not edible the second set the cook brought out was good, but not spicy hot as noted in the menu. Chips were garlicky and tasty by them selves but the salsa was not very flavorful. I had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich which was okay flavor but it was chunks of beef, not shaved beef as I expected. We came here because the reviews were so good on yelp. Unfortunately it did not live up to its reputation. I ordered chicken fried steak with over easy eggs and home fries. The eggs were overcooked, and while the gravy was very good the chicken fried steak was so gristly it was inedible. The home fries were overcooked and hard. My husband had the southwestern skillet. His eggs were overcooked as well and the potatoes were not only overcooked but completely inedible. Overall, very disappointing. read more

The restaurant is located almost directly across the Standing on the Corner exhibit. The interior is nicely appointed with Route 66 paraphernalia. We entered the restaurant at Noon, a few tables were occupied, we were greeted and seated and had water delivered, we then ordered...and waited, and waited, and waited!! About 45-50 minutes later our food finally arrived. While the sandwiches were hot and tasty - definitely not worth that kind of wait. Incredible breakfast spot! Arizona locals but passing through on our way to Texas this morning and stopped in! Luckily the rush just died down bc it's fairly small so we were sat immediately and greeted by our waitress. I'm assuming the head chef came around to greet the regulars so you can tell it really gives warm, hometown vibes. He even greeted and chatted with us for a minute. Food was absolutely delicious. We ate here while on spring break, driving from the Grand Canyon to Albuquerque. Obviously Winslow is a cool place to go, and such a fine sight to see. The restaurant closed an hour earlier than the listed time but thankfully we were seated in time. There were only two employees, one BoH and the other FoH, and they did a great job taking care of the customers. The food was hot and fresh, and very tasty. I was concerned this would be a tourist trap. It wasn't... Certainly not at the early hour that I was in there with all the locals. But the locals (including a cop) indicate it's good food and a decent value. The staff is very friendly and the food is ample for the price. Just had a simple breakfast, but everything was properly prepared and came out in a timely manner. No issues whatsoever. Don't be dissuaded by the fact that it's named after a touristy spot on the same block. read more

We've had dinner here twice and I'm both occasions so we were able to get in between 4 and 5 PM. After 5 PM you really watch it get busy and then there will be a wait. Was in Winslow, Arizona to check off a bucket list item and wanted a decent brunch. This cafe was less than a 1/2 a block away from East Second Street on North Kingsley Avenue. Outdoor seating was available, but it was 96 Degrees, so decided to sit inside with the cooler atmosphere. We were immediately greeted by the server, she was friendly and accommodating, took our drink order. They only have canned soda and accommodated my change to coffee as the breakfast menu looked inviting. The server assured us that the gravy was good and we would not be disappointed. My wife ordered the Southern Breakfast with scrambled eggs, three slices of bacon, country potatoes, two biscuits smothered in country gravy. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly, the gravy and biscuits were delicious, the country potatoes were crispy on the outside with the nice soft baked potato center. All items went well with the gravy, but the bacon was slightly overcooked, a little too hard and crispy, but not burned. I ordered the country fried steak, especially since the menu stated it was hand battered, with hash browns, eggs over easy and sourdough toast. I have encountered way too many chicken fried steak that is a prepackaged frozen product. This chicken fried steak was one of the best ones I have had in a while and was definitely not a prepackaged frozen product. It was flavorful, tender and with just the right amount of breading. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash browns were nice and crispy. A good amount of country gravy covered the steak. All parts of the meal paired well together. I only wish the country gravy had been a sausage gravy, which would definitely boost the flavor of this meal. Two slices of sourdough toast came with two prepackaged jelly, one was grape and the other was mixed berry. The first cup of coffee was warm, but the following cups were hot. Server was fast to refill my coffee. The 1/2 and 1/2 creamer was in little containers along with sugar and sugar substitutes. The second and third cup of coffee was delicious with good flavor. Overall this was a great breakfast spot and I would definitely eat here again. read more

Went in for breakfast. We were glad we did. Each of us had the classic breakfast. Eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and toast. I asked for ALL bacon, cause that's how I roll . Wish was granted. What a local gem! First off, any place that serves breakfast at lunch wins my heart so things started off well in their favor. Their menu runs the gamut of diner selections so even a picky eater can find something to their liking. I ordered the juevos rancheros and they were amazing. The sauce was delish, the ranchero beans were yummy and I ordered the hash browns with sausage gravy. It came out piping hot, delicious and the home made flour tortilla was perfect. We researched a little before traveling through Winslow and found this place. It had good reviews and since we knew we would be passing through earlier in the morning, we could get breakfast. I decided on the Flatbed burrito (extra large burrito stuffed with eggs, potatoes, pork carnitas, no jalapeño, bell peppers and cheese) smothered enchilada style with green chili.
