There are a lot of breakfast places in Winslow. Flatbed Ford Cafe, in my opinion is the best. We sat outside on a beautiful, albeit windy morning. Hang on to your napkins! The service was good but a little weird. One waitress was very rude, and didn't seem to want to be there. The 2nd one was fabulous, that's the only reason I kept 5 stars. My husband and I split an enormous chorizo burrito. The chorizo was crispy and so very good. The burrito was covered in red and green salsa and loaded with cheese. Our friends had breakfast enchiladas. Filled, covered in sauce with two fried eggs on top. They could have split theirs too. Parking on the street or the lot across the street. Loved it! read more

The wait time to order was extremely long especially considering we were the only 2 at the restaurant. We eventually ordered I chose Huevos rancheros. What I got was two corn tortillas not even lightly fried on a plate with tons of cheese a little salsa de verde and egg on top. My friend ordered a special "loaded breakfast fries" he didn't like it. Our server was great when we ordered, however after that it was up to the cook to bring out our food. We ordered chips and salsa and fried "hot" pickles as an appetizer however they did not arrive until we were half done with our sandwiches. The first set of pickles were burned and not edible the second set the cook brought out was good, but not spicy hot as noted in the menu. Chips were garlicky and tasty by them selves but the salsa was not very flavorful. I had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich which was okay flavor but it was chunks of beef, not shaved beef as I expected. Now for the good stuff: the bacon? Absolute perfection. Crispy, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. And the home-fried potatoes? Crunchy, golden, and packed with flavor--total win. Was in Winslow, Arizona to check off a bucket list item and wanted a decent brunch. This cafe was less than a 1/2 a block away from East Second Street on North Kingsley Avenue. Outdoor seating was available, but it was 96 Degrees, so decided to sit inside with the cooler atmosphere. We were immediately greeted by the server, she was friendly and accommodating, took our drink order. They only have canned soda and accommodated my change to coffee as the breakfast menu looked inviting. The server assured us that the gravy was good and we would not be disappointed. My wife ordered the Southern Breakfast with scrambled eggs, three slices of bacon, country potatoes, two biscuits smothered in country gravy. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly, the gravy and biscuits were delicious, the country potatoes were crispy on the outside with the nice soft baked potato center. All items went well with the gravy, but the bacon was slightly overcooked, a little too hard and crispy, but not burned. I ordered the country fried steak, especially since the menu stated it was hand battered, with hash browns, eggs over easy and sourdough toast. I have encountered way too many chicken fried steak that is a prepackaged frozen product. This chicken fried steak was one of the best ones I have had in a while and was definitely not a prepackaged frozen product. It was flavorful, tender and with just the right amount of breading. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash browns were nice and crispy. A good amount of country gravy covered the steak. All parts of the meal paired well together. I only wish the country gravy had been a sausage gravy, which would definitely boost the flavor of this meal. Two slices of sourdough toast came with two prepackaged jelly, one was grape and the other was mixed berry. The first cup of coffee was warm, but the following cups were hot. Server was fast to refill my coffee. The 1/2 and 1/2 creamer was in little containers along with sugar and sugar substitutes. The second and third cup of coffee was delicious with good flavor. Luckily the rush just died down bc it's fairly small so we were sat immediately and greeted by our waitress. I was concerned this would be a tourist trap. It wasn't... Certainly not at the early hour that I was in there with all the locals. But the locals (including a cop) indicate it's good food and a decent value. The staff is very friendly and the food is ample for the price. Just had a simple breakfast, but everything was properly prepared and came out in a timely manner. No issues whatsoever. We ate here while on spring break, driving from the Grand Canyon to Albuquerque. Obviously Winslow is a cool place to go, and such a fine sight to see. The restaurant closed an hour earlier than the listed time but thankfully we were seated in time. There were only two employees, one BoH and the other FoH, and they did a great job taking care of the customers. The food was hot and fresh, and very tasty. We've had dinner here twice and I'm both occasions so we were able to get in between 4 and 5 PM. After 5 PM you really watch it get busy and then there will be a wait. Whirlwind failed business trip turned into a mini vacation that brought me to Winslow and ultimately, Flatbed Ford Cafe for a delicious Sunday breakfast. We researched a little before traveling through Winslow and found this place. It had good reviews and since we knew we would be passing through earlier in the morning, we could get breakfast. Besides, we love the reference to the famous Eagles song! We arrived a little after 10am. It was pretty busy with what appeared to be a lot of locals. There were a few seats available and we were seated right away, offered drinks and provided menus. The inside is very cute and comfortable with a down home, cozy feel. Everything on the menu sounded yummy! My wife chose the Southwest omelet (3 eggs, bacon , no jalapeño, tomato, onion and cheese) with home style potatoes and wheat toast. I decided on the Flatbed burrito (extra large burrito stuffed with eggs, potatoes, pork carnitas, no jalapeño, bell peppers and cheese) smothered enchilada style with green chili. Our entrees arrived in a timely fashion, looked really good and tasted great. We would highly recommend to others if you are in Winslow. My beef is I have been traveling cross country and was treating myself out to what I thought would be a nice quiet breakfast and catch up on my travel journal. Quiet was not what I got! The only people that were in here were older people and yet they are playing music like "Rape Me" by Nirvana (had to Shazam it because I didn't even believe what I was hearing. Read the room people,old people don't come to a diner to hear this. It really ruined my experience. I would not come back because of this alone. The portions here could possibly fill the flatbed of a Ford! If you're looking for reasonably priced, hearty fare for the most important meal of the day, look no further. We got a few orders to go. Everything was securely packaged in Styrofoam containers. I had the flatbed burrito. With the burrito it is made enchilada style with your choice of sauce and I was happy that they could make it Xmas style with red and green sauce. It was such a delicious looking breakfast when I opened up my container! The sauce was neatly poured over both sides of the burrito, and was oh so good. The burrito itself was well seasoned with generous portions of potatoes, carnitas, eggs, jalapenos, bell peppers and cheese. Good stuff!
