The only thing I liked about my meal was the baked mac & cheese, which I thought would be gross, but actually turned out to be OK the garlic bread that came with me was awful. I liked my chicken tenders from lunchtime from a gas station better than the meal I had a Denny's tonight. Service: polite and quick however, the cooks in the kitchen are slow as hell! I was just served a waffle that was so hard you could've mistaken it for a hockey puck. I'm not kidding. Next time make one from scratch instead of serve me one from yesterday. I swear. All I wanted was a nice fluffy waffle. Get your shit together dennys!! How can you screw up a waffle? I drive this route all the time and I can't come back now. Entrance Doors were smeared with what looks like weeks worth of finger prints. Has it ever been clean. First off, the service was absolutely amazing! Fast, friendly, and spot on. Ambiance-wise, this is part of a Flying J truck stop which is being remodeled currently (March 2024) and is a bit cluttered & messy. The Denny's itself was much cleaner, The food left something to be desired... Couldn't order anything baked or that required the oven, as the oven was broken. I had the Crazy Spicy Sicilian Skillet. It was lacking in flavor a bit. Something I order every couple of months in Denny's, and always enjoy... this one was just ho-hum, and frankly didn't look great when it arrived. My son had the chicken tenders. All were overcooked to a medium brown instead of golden, but they were still edible. My wife's iced tea looked off / expired in color, and certainly tasted bad. Apparently they thought iced tea has an 8-hour hold time (per the waitress that had checked it at start of shift? It's a Denny's.... in a truck stop. Great waitstaff, lackluster food, but I'll try them again next time I am up that way in case it's a one-off, since this was my 1st time at that particular Denny's. read more

Came in around 10am on a Monday, table for one. The place was pretty empty, only 2 or 3 other tables taken up. Diane was very nice and attentive but I never got silverware and had to track her down for some. Sirloin and eggs was ok - the steak was cooked medium rare how I requested and tasted good. The eggs were awful. Ordered sunny side up they came out out over easy with runny whites. Ordered wheat toast and got white. Hash browns weren't crispy at all. I worked in the service industry for over 15 years and would never bring a plate like that to a table. I didn't ask for a remake because I was pressed for time but Diane was nice, so I'm sure she would've done it for me if I'd asked. read more

Asked for silverweare a few times. Broccoli was cold. Potatoes were over cooked. No sauce on the meat just on plate. You had to rub your food in the sauce for flavor. Chicken fried steak had no flavor. Charged for things we did not receive. We ordered them but did not get them. We even pointed that out. Had to put your feet on bottom of table so you could cut your meat as it wobbled really bad. All we head was chefs first day she tried her best. Should have had someone helping in that case. Great place to eat! Three of us had a meal here last Friday. It sure was enjoyable to eat inside if a restaurant! Being from California where we are under strict lock down, eating inside was very welcomed. We all ordered the lumberjack breakfast, Eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, hash browns, toast and pancakes! The manger Jennifer sprung into action! She went above and beyond and redid and cooked our meals to perfection! Being under staffed and busy can be frustrating, I know because I used to work in the restaurant industry. So I am pleased to know that there's still amazing management,and the off duty manger Becca was extremely attentive, friendly, she greeted me and hubby with a warm smile and seated us promptly. My server Kandra was inviting and pleasant while remaining completely aware of her section and when she was tending to other patrons made it a point to at the very least make eye contact and acknowledge her other guests w/ the I'll be right there look. Ms. Kandra kept the hot coffee coming and appeared sincere when dealing with the customers in her section. Everyone was polite and welcoming and appeared to work extremely well as a team. I was in and out in no time and likely spent more time writing this review of their service than it took to prepare and finish my French toast slam; compliments to the chef as well! I understand Winslow is a slow paced town but the service at this Denny's is way slower! We got placed at a table very quickly, after that we waited about 20 min with nobody showing up to take our drink order. I had to walk to another server and let them know we haven't been tended to yet. The server came and got our drink order. We decided to order our food as well and waited about another twenty minutes when another server showed up and said he was taking over for the previous server. We then waited another twenty minutes with no server showing up. We decided to let the server know that it was taking too long which was not their fault but who ever the cook was was certainly not being quick about getting orders out. We left with no food. We came in to eat lunch at 3:14pm on Sat Jan 30th. After waiting for 6.5mins we finally had James greet us and take us to our table. His name tag had Shift Lead on there so we immediately were impressed. We took 3mins to browse the menu and knew what we wanted by 3:24pm. We looked around for our server and there were manyh servers walking by but none of them were out server. It wasn't until 3:32pm that we were greeted by our server, and lo and behold it's James again! We then ordered our drinks and our food with him. He did a great job trying to upsell us on drinks and menu items, this was expected as he was a team lead. With my serving background I automatically knew he was a senior sever and knew what he was doing and my dining experience was about to become better. I wish I was right, but James went on to disappoint us as we saw him walking around twiddling his thumbs and not bringing us our drinks. At 3:37, we finally flagged down another server and decided to ask for our drinks. A few moments later, James returns with our drinks and apologizes for the apology and drops off the drinks. He ran away so quickly and didn't show up at our table until later. I had asked for a water no ice as I am having dental work done and this water is full of ice, by this point I am not enjoying this experience. I make eye contact with who seems like the manager at this point. She is wearing a blue shirt that has sauce all over it, probably from working the window. She is busy yelling at her staff, creating an unpleasant experience for the guests.. No wonder the staff is sub-par, look at how management behaves. 3:57pm finally comes around and my man James comes to refill her Dr. Pepper and I make him aware of me wanting a water with no ice and he immediately fulfills my request while telling us politely that food is "on it way." LOL! Our food finally arrived at 4:05pm and it wasn't even that great. The beyond burger had a cold center, the eggs tasted like plastic, and the zucchini was not seasoned and over oily. All in all I'm glad we could catch James just before his break, if James worked for me he would not have a job, much less be a shift lead. I'm glad Dennys has made such wonderful choices with their staff! :) 4:19pm I make it over to the cashier. There are already two people waiting to be attended to and are getting impatient. James who said he would meet me up here is nowhere to be found. Lol 4:23 comes around and someone finally comes up here and helps us. After attending to the people on front of me in line (2 people) I finally pay my $29.83 tab. What an experience! Oh and Christine, I would never let a guest that spent an hour in your restaurant with such horrible service pay the tab, such great customer care that I had to also pay for this ordeal. I would give this place a 1 star for service but 2 for good food. I really was debating on whether or not I should leave a comment but I think it should be said, I couldn't get the name, but he is a light skin man with a very bad attitude that can be noticed from a mile away. My dad came in to get seats first, so I'm guessing the light skin man greeted my dad, while I came about 10 mins after, so I didn't know that vibes yet. So when I come and sit at the booth with my dad, the waiter comes and starts to take our order, I then noticed the negative energy and attitude right away from him. He brings us our first order of soups and my dad asked him a few times if they had soup spoons instead of tea spoon for our soup, then the waiter starts talking to my dad like he's dumb, then brings two different spoons (that weren't the soup spoon) and displays it in his hands to my dad (and stupidly asks my dad in a very mean tone) are these the spoons? My dad kindly says no. So after a few more of orders and few more of his attitudes, our last order was my dads two ice cream scoops, and when the waiter brings the ice cream and dozes away , my dad picks up the spoon that came with the ice cream, and what do you know, it's the soup spoon. We asked another waiter if our original waiter knew what a soup spoon was, and explain to her the situation. She then comes back and apologizes basically for him and says that he is sorry. lol we don't see him anymore after that. So three things I do want to point out from this experience, 1. be aware and mentally prepared of a light skin coward who's attitude is worst than a women's. 2. Not all of the waiters are mean here. And 3. Their food is not that bad, so I'll give em that part ( a thumbs up ). The staff was pleasant. We had to wait quite awhile to be seated. We were about to leave. There were only 7 tables occupied. Understaffed. Ordered eggs over medium. They came with yolk and whites very runny and undercooked. Waitress was nice and apologetic. We told her to make them over hard, just in case. They came back over easy, just a little more cooked than before. We ate them. Blueberry pancakes were raw in the middle. We ate them and did not tell the waitress. Had to wait at cashier to pay. Management needs to hire more people or at least be on site to assist. Just passing through but there are plenty of other places nearby. Don't stop here. I will add this is the 3rd morning we have eaten at Denny's on our trip and this was the only marginal one. read more
