Terrible drink, returned and taken off the bill.
Jim J.

Great room with many historic items displayed. Our server, Forest, was fantastic: professional, very competent, and helpful. I order the shrimp with pappardelle pasta. We also shared an app of stuffed squash blossoms. The app was superb! Tender batter fried squash blossoms stuffed with a sweet corn filling served on a green chili-sweet cone relish. The pasta dish had 5 large, plump, perfectly cooked shrimp served with wide noodle pasta with a corn, chili, cream sauce. Excellent across the board. My table mates had bacon wrapped filet. Bison short ribs. One drink was poor and we sent it back with no issue. Would come back for sure. $$$

We ate dinner and breakfast at this restaurant. I felt dinner was far superior to breakfast. I had the shrimp papperdelle pasta for dinner and it was very good. I paired it with the galaxy whisky cocktail which was superb! Breakfast was okay. The coffee tasted extremely burnt and the eggs for the omelette were rubbery. The wait staff was wonderful and very attentive. The dining room was decorated well, and very quiet.

Roast beef was seriously the most tender I've ever had.

With seating spread out across the restaurant and lobby for dining, every seat has something amazing to look at. Part museum and part dining, the space is beautiful. The food was really good. Service was attentive.

We were staying at the La Posada and this is the hotel restaurant and bar. We had a cocktail at the bar. It was a great experience. We had 7 pm reservations at the hotel restaurant. The Turquoise Room. The service was outstanding the food was fabulous. We started with "soup" of creamy corn and black beans with a spicy chile cream. I can't even describe how good it was. My friend and I split Pork Osso Buco. Split. We couldn't finish it. My husband had the special sea bass and raved. My friend's husband thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp with pappardelle pasta. Although he doesn't like having to remove the tails himself. I mean, who does? It was nice to go back to our room after such a great meal and not have to drive. Outstanding experience.

Walking into the Turquoise Room hits different. It's like stepping into an Arts & Crafts/Mission-style museum, except the food is the main exhibit. Hanging tapestries, turquoise-painted beams, solid wood furniture that looks like it's been holding court since the Harvey Girls ran this place. The atmosphere is something you feel before you can put words to it. And then the food comes out. Really, the combination of ingredients they're working with, the plating, the whole presentation -- this kitchen is doing real work. The flavors are layered, balanced, no shortcuts. Service matched the food, step for step. Attentive, unhurried, like they wanted you there. Here's the thing people need to understand: this isn't "good for a small town." This place goes heads up with any big-city restaurant, LA, Phoenix, Chicago, wherever. That's not hype, that's just facts. The Turquoise Room is operating on a whole different frequency than what you'd expect off the 40 in Winslow, Arizona.

Los Angeles RoadTrip Ep. 14 "Seven generations from a dirt road corn crop.. Boots ain't ever seen easy street Where a skeeter gets slapped 'bout as fast a star drops.. Roots run deep in this family tree.. We dropped in at Winslow AZ's historic charming Hotel La Posada. Opened in 1930, La Posada Hotel was the "crown jewel" of the Santa Fe Railway and the renowned Fred Harvey Company. Walking around the Hotel are beautiful native pictures/gallery by their local owner Artist.. We settled in for late Lunch at their "Turquoise Room" restaurant. Its large dining area is inviting and comfortable. The Lass drank a glass of "Lemon Drop Martini".. The Lad, drank a glass of "Espresso Martini" Both drinks tried hard to satisfy us..:) We shared, "Clear Creek Calamari" fried and served with chipotle aioli.. and.. "66 Roastbeef" 1/2 LB of certified ground Angus chuck, fire grilled and served on a brioche bun with red onions, lettuce, tomato, and a side of chipotle aioli dip.. with...yes fresh cut fries. Such a wonderful place with marvelous history! We really enjoyed our lunch. Soup and Small Southwest Salad with Pumpkin Seeds, Crispy Pork Carnitas (Best ever), and Giant Burger.

Arizona Vegetable Platter

We stayed at the LaPosada last week. The Turquoise Room and Martini Lounge added to the whole experience. The Lounge has a nice happy hour and we enjoyed a drink and light snacks before dinner, followed by a trip outside to enjoy the railroad action. Dinner was excellent in the Turquoise Room. My husband had the filet and I enjoyed the Arizona Vegetable Platter. So many delicious items to sample! Definitely a special entree!

The Turquoise Room was a terrific experience. We had a terrific late lunch. The specialty soup was so delicious and so were our entrees. The staff was welcoming and ambiance was so fun. It was like stepping back in time. I highly recommend it.

We had margs and snackies at the bar for happy hour. I loved my prickly pear spicy marg with a Tajin rim. We relaxed (aka multiple luggage rack trips with all of the valuables from your trunk), walked the property a bit and later came back for dinner. Our meal was fantastic! My southwest Caesar and signature soup were so satisfying. I adore the creative concept of the soup, so clever and scrumptious. Service was excellent at the bar and in the restaurant. The Turquoise Room truly makes the stay at La Posada a perfect one.

Complimentary Corn Bread; Prickly Pear Lemonade

History: The Fred Harvey Restaurant group had dining rooms at major railway stations through out the U. S. There still exists a former Harvey restaurant at the Los Ángeles Union Station. From 1930 to 1957 a Harvey restaurant at La Posada Hotel ruled the Winslow culinary scene until the decline of passenger rail travel. In 1961 Santa Fe Railroad gutted the Posada Hotel to make a regional office. In 1997 Allan Affeldt & Tina Mion acquired La Posada from the Santa Fe Railway and restored the La Posada Hotel & the dining room calling it the Turquoise Room in honor of the Santa Fe Super Chief trains running from L.A. to Chicago. The most sumptuous dining car was called, of course, The Turquoise Room. The dining room has windows facing the railroad tracks so trains, mainly freight, can be seen passing by all the time to remind us it is a railroad station. The interior has a pleasing Spanish Colonial or Mexican theme that plays throughout the hotel. I was fortunate to be in the presence of some former Harvey Girls who were waitresses back in the 1950's along with others who were reenacters and wanted to carry on the tradition. Their white smock apron-dress and black, long sleeve inner dress give them a very distinctive almost New England Puritan look. 1) Complimentary Corn Bread: Honey sticky browned top, light golden, moist yet pleasantly gritty, crumbly cake. Slight buttery undertone. 2) Arizona Grown Salad Bowl: It's humongous! Enough for almost 2 people. a) Crunchy, al dente, fresh tasting, fibrous, slightly bitter, long green beans b) Fibrous sweet & bitter, crunchy yet moist golden beet "spaghetti". c) Carrot String: Fibrous, sweet with that medicinal funk. d) Jícama: Crunchy, juicy napped in sweet vinegar. e) Green & Red Kale: Unusual bitter tonic with roughage f) Sweet, airy air popped corn. g) Dried leathery sweet-sour Cranberry h) Starchy, light steamed quinoa braised in a light broth. i) Shiny fried green Kale chip with a nice toasty, Umani. j) Dry textured Tepary beans that also has nuttiness & bitterness. k) Garden mix of soft greens l) Corn Salad of chopped tomato, green bell, red onion, Pasilla chile. m) Avocado: Perfectly ripe, buttery, soft Lemon Tahini Salad Dressing: Nice nutty sesame toastiness from the tahini, citrus gastrique & scent. Thick to coat all the ingredients. 1-2a) Prickly Pear Lemonade: The prickly pear adds a slightly musky fruitiness and a pretty purple pink hue to a rather sweet & lemony concoction. 3) Fred Harvey Pie: Seasonal fruit was fresh strawberry & apple with a nice sugary glaze and was cooked just long enough to soften the fruit but retain a vivid colour. Crust is drier, flaky with a sprinkling of confectioners' snow white sugar powder. Vanilla Gelato. This refreshing, light totally vegan salad revived me on a return road trip from Dallas to see the Total Solar Eclipse to hometown Los Ángeles. 4 stars

This location and restaurant is beautiful. The service is pleasant. The crispy pork carnitas phenomenal. The only draw back is the drink costs and rules about refills for iced tea. They do have seating with great views of the trains passing by the hotel/restaurant

Though it was a little slow our waitress was kind and kept us posted. She took our order for drinks and came back for our orders. She came back with garlic bread, which was tasty and then took our orders. Noah went for a pepperoni pizza. Noemi was looking for spaghetti and meatballs...she was asked if she wanted a half portion, and she went with it (only one meatball though). Liz ordered the traditional lasagna. I ordered the baked Zitti. I enjoyed my Zitti. The sauce was simple, and not butter or overpowering. It had olives and sausage slices. I had a taste of 'em's spaghetti...not too shabby, but the pasta was slightly overcooked...for my taste. Noah's pizza (a small 12") was pretty good too. I thought that the sports bar would be too smokey, but it wasn't. We had a good time and that's because the service was very kind and the kids could be themselves. Not too shabby.

Four Stars - Fantastic Service, Great Craft Beer, and Incredible Comfort Food Right on the Corner…read more We drove up to Winslow with a group of friends for an event, and after spending some time at the famous "Standing on the Corner" landmark, three of us headed straight across to RelicRoad Brewing for dinner. It turned out to be an awesome decision. The service was top-tier from the moment we walked in. Our server was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving seamlessly without ever leaving us waiting. She checked in on us consistently and was incredibly accommodating. Initially, the only seating available was at the high-top tables. The stools were those generic, no-backed metal chairs with barely any cushion--not the most comfortable for an older crowd. However, the moment a standard low table with regular chairs opened up right beside us, she moved us over without hesitation. The food was well above standard pub fare: * Oktoberfest Specials: They had an Oktoberfest seasonal menu running. One friend ordered the pork schnitzel and the other had the cinnamon apple pork chop (a creative, flavorful spin on pork chops and applesauce). Both thoroughly enjoyed their entrées. The side of spiral/skewered potato rounds was cooked well, though they could have used a bit more seasoning and spice. * In-House Pit Turkey Sandwich: Phenomenal. It features their house-made pit turkey--shredded rather than sliced--piled on sourdough with roasted green chiles and melted pepper jack cheese. The shredded turkey was tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. * Homemade Mac & Cheese: The absolute highlight. It is 100% scratch-made comfort food using shell pasta, velvety melted cheese, and black pepper. It tasted just like the homemade mac and cheese my late mother used to make, which brought back great memories. If a spot tries to pass off boxed Kraft, I'll walk away, but this was rich, creamy, and authentic. You can even add bacon or green chiles to it. Pair the great food with a solid tap list of craft beer and cocktails, and it makes for a fantastic stop. If you're visiting the corner in Winslow, this is definitely the place to grab a bite and a pint. Highly recommended!
