This station was tended by two very fun, friendly and playful teens. What a nice change of pace...I got tired of sourpuss gas station attendants! It's been so long since I last paid cash for gas so I walked inside and asked if change is given back if our tank was full before the dollar amount was reached! They kids in the food mart said, "no, we keep the remainder cash as our tip!" DUH!!! I felt so stupid! lol! :P

As we were headed to the Courthouse/Visitor center this place caught our attention so we stopped in. The whole place is quirky and fun. So much thought was put into the details to mix vintage/ retro with modern. The staff were AMAZING! So friendly and made a bunch of suggestions. There is something for everyone coffees, lemonade, sodas, Red Bull and more! I got the Butter N Backroads iced latte and the Rest Stop Revival root beer. Both are outstanding. My wife got the Route 66 Centennial special and it was equally delicious. Our son got a Sprite with pomegranate syrup - an unexpectedly delicious combo. We honestly thought it was just a coffee shop, but it turned out to be the perfect place for a light meal and a relaxing break. The shop has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with unique décor featuring photos of the local community and its history, which gave it a lot of character. There are several seating options, including high-top tables for two, lower tables with four chairs, and bar seating. The menu offers much more than coffee--they also serve sandwiches, ice cream, and other drinks. We ordered the Southwest Chicken Quesadilla, which came with a side of salsa, and it was absolutely delicious. To drink, we had the Raspberry Cream Soda and the Detox Water with strawberries, lemons, blueberries, and cucumbers. Both were refreshing, and the detox water was especially good. The background music was just right--not too loud, making it easy to enjoy a conversation. The shop was spotless, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. The ladies behind the counter were welcoming, and the gentleman who prepared our food did an outstanding job. This was the perfect way to wrap up our visit to the area. We left with full bellies, great conversation, and a wonderful last stop before hitting the road. If you're passing through Winslow and want a coffee, a light bite, or even some ice cream, I highly recommend stopping by. Five stars all the way!

They are huge and delicious and you can get them smothered with cheese or bacon or whatever. They also have breakfast items, crepes, salads, sandwiches, ice cream, and some pretty fancy coffee drinks. Now about those hot dogs: We tried the Take It Easy dog (ketchup, mustard, diced onions) and the Kansas dog (bacon, cheese, and BBQ sauce). The Take It Easy may have standard toppings but the dog and bun are excellent. The Kansas dog was supreme. The dog, bun, and the toppings were fantastic. I don't know why the little town of Winslow has such good hot dogs but it just shows you never know what you may find.
