Roots run deep in this family tree.. We dropped in at Winslow AZ's historic charming Hotel La Posada. Opened in 1930, La Posada Hotel was the "crown jewel" of the Santa Fe Railway and the renowned Fred Harvey Company. Walking around the Hotel are beautiful native pictures/gallery by their local owner Artist.. We settled in for late Lunch at their "Turquoise Room" restaurant. Its large dining area is inviting and comfortable. The Lass drank a glass of "Lemon Drop Martini".. The Lad, drank a glass of "Espresso Martini" Both drinks tried hard to satisfy us..:) We shared, "Clear Creek Calamari" fried and served with chipotle aioli.. and.. "66 Roastbeef" 1/2 LB of certified ground Angus chuck, fire grilled and served on a brioche bun with red onions, lettuce, tomato, and a side of chipotle aioli dip.. with...yes fresh cut fries. Quite right, This was a delight.. We ended this royal meal w... "Creme Brule", served with fresh whipped cream.. Yes, you may be in Winslow to "Stand on the Corner"...but The Turquoise Room is where we order..) I paired it with the galaxy whisky cocktail which was superb! Breakfast was okay. The coffee tasted extremely burnt and the eggs for the omelette were rubbery. The wait staff was wonderful and very attentive. The dining room was decorated well, and very quiet.

The service was good but a little weird. One waitress was very rude, and didn't seem to want to be there. The 2nd one was fabulous, that's the only reason I kept 5 stars. My husband and I split an enormous chorizo burrito. The chorizo was crispy and so very good. The burrito was covered in red and green salsa and loaded with cheese. Our friends had breakfast enchiladas. Filled, covered in sauce with two fried eggs on top. They could have split theirs too. Parking on the street or the lot across the street. Loved it!

Unfortunately we all ordered a plate not knowing how large the servings were. We could've have had 1 appetizer & 1 entree & it would've fed all 3 of us. The service was great & the people were kind. We honestly thought it was just a coffee shop, but it turned out to be the perfect place for a light meal and a relaxing break. The shop has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with unique décor featuring photos of the local community and its history, which gave it a lot of character. There are several seating options, including high-top tables for two, lower tables with four chairs, and bar seating. The menu offers much more than coffee--they also serve sandwiches, ice cream, and other drinks. We ordered the Southwest Chicken Quesadilla, which came with a side of salsa, and it was absolutely delicious. To drink, we had the Raspberry Cream Soda and the Detox Water with strawberries, lemons, blueberries, and cucumbers. Both were refreshing, and the detox water was especially good. The background music was just right--not too loud, making it easy to enjoy a conversation. The shop was spotless, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. The ladies behind the counter were welcoming, and the gentleman who prepared our food did an outstanding job. This was the perfect way to wrap up our visit to the area. We left with full bellies, great conversation, and a wonderful last stop before hitting the road. If you're passing through Winslow and want a coffee, a light bite, or even some ice cream, I highly recommend stopping by. Five stars all the way!

This is a cute little old school 50s-ish diner with a legit food menu and some truly excellent hot…read moredogs. In fact, I would go out of my way for these hot dogs. They are huge and delicious and you can get them smothered with cheese or bacon or whatever. They also have breakfast items, crepes, salads, sandwiches, ice cream, and some pretty fancy coffee drinks. Now about those hot dogs: We tried the Take It Easy dog (ketchup, mustard, diced onions) and the Kansas dog (bacon, cheese, and BBQ sauce). The Take It Easy may have standard toppings but the dog and bun are excellent. The Kansas dog was supreme. The dog, bun, and the toppings were fantastic. I don't know why the little town of Winslow has such good hot dogs but it just shows you never know what you may find.
