When I scheduled a follow up video appointment, I was expecting to speak to her about a test result that concerned me. I did not get to speak to her. Instead I was connected with Dr. Bennie who was rude, short, and made me feel that my concerns were not valid, and that I was just anxious. He compared a Dr. to a Pilot and said that if I was to get on a plane and the pilot was anxious then I would be anxious too. But since the pilot is calm, I should be calm. Therefore since he was being calm, as my dr (who hadn't even read my chart or test results) that it was not necessary for me to be anxious about my health or the health of my family. While I appreciate his attempt to calm me down, with all due respect I would have rather spoken with a Dr. who could give me a medical explanation with out patronizing me with a metaphor.

When I spoke to my insurance (united healthcare) they said they needed it electronically. I spoke with the pcp office several times being told they sent the referral to my specialist (Brandon Mines) and the insurance company but come to find out in August they didn't send anything. I've gone back and forth trying to get proof they sent it back in April and no one has been able to give me a clear yes or no answer. Now it's looking like I have to fork over hundreds of dollars because the office and insurance department were not smart enough to send the proof to my insurance or the specialist. I hate America's medical help bc honestly to me they don't give a shit. This office has no online portal to look at your records or information. It looks like everything is in paper files that could be easily misplaced, I'm never going back here. I'll be talking to my insurance about changing my doctor as soon as possible. It's messed up that your patient has to take the L and pay out of pocket because your practice couldn't do the one job of sending my damn referral to the appropriate parties. And no people that paper copy they gave me the insurance would not accept it...........bullshit.

I came in hopeful that I had finally found a gynecologist who would listen to me and help address my lifelong struggle with painful periods, along with other physical changes I've been dealing with as I get older. I also carry anxiety from poor care I've received in the past, so finding the right provider really matters to me. Kara Chestnut NP was referred by a PCP I trust, so I went in with a lot of hope. Unfortunately, that hope didn't last long. At my very first visit, some of my concerns were quickly dismissed because they "didn't look that bad," despite this being the first time she had ever met me. I chose to move forward anyway, trusting the referral and wanting to give the process a fair chance. I scheduled a follow-up appointment for what I was told would be a test/procedure. Per their policy, I paid about $250 upfront expecting that service. However, due to an error on their end, I was scheduled for a basic follow-up discussion instead--without having completed all necessary testing (including an ultrasound). The appointment ended up being unhelpful, as we couldn't even fully review my situation. When I brought this up, I was told they don't even perform that procedure on the day I was scheduled. As a new patient, I relied on their office to schedule me correctly, so this was incredibly frustrating. I was left feeling anxious, dismissed, and stuck paying for an appointment that shouldn't have happened in the first place. There was an apology, but no real resolution--no refund, no credit applied--just a suggestion to schedule more appointments (and spend more money). To make matters worse, after this error, I received an email dismissing me as a patient from the practice. While I did not plan on returning, I found this incredibly distasteful given the situation--especially after being told they wanted to help me. Additionally, their lab system was difficult to access. Despite multiple attempts, I was never able to log in. I had to call to receive my results over the phone, and even then was told to wait and discuss them in person at my next visit--which ended up being the incorrect appointment. Overall, while the staff is kind, my experience felt disorganized, dismissive, and costly. If you choose to come here, be aware that you may be asked to pay upfront--even if scheduling errors occur--and that your concerns may not be fully acknowledged.
