First-class experience and excellent results!…read more This is not my first experience with Crusader, having purchased softeners for rental properties in Utah over the years from them. I had always been pleased with their prompt and professional services, but I wasn't sure how well they would do on fixing the stinky water for my cabin in Kamas. While researching my options, I reached out to them through Yelp late one evening and was impressed to get a prompt reply with questions about our situation and what we wanted to accomplish. Through our discussion I realized that we needed additional water testing than the county-mandated bacterial tests. I scheduled a visit at their design center in Orem and brought samples of our water for testing. They did the testing while I waited, showed me various options for treatment and helped to calculate the operational costs and maintenance services required to keep everything running properly. This was really helpful because some of these technologies cost more upfront than others but cost a lot less in the longterm, something I didn't realize from prior research and discussions. They handled the stinky water with an oxidizing system followed by Symphony Ultrafiltration and Ultraviolet since I wanted peace of mind that my water would be safe in the event of a power outage. I ended up not buying a water softener for this cabin, opting instead for the Active Armour salt-free system to control hard water scale since we don't do significant laundry there. I requested the installation service for a Saturday, and they graciously accommodated me. Their installation team was punctual and professional (they wore booties to protect our floor). Installation of all of the equipment took about 4 hours and they cleaned up afterwards (this scored points with my girlfriend). After installation they took time to teach me how to maintain the systems and what to look for in the event something went wrong. Crusader is not the cheapest option, but for me, they are the best!

My faith in honest businesses has been renewed. These guys are awesome. The water heater went out…read moreand I jumped on Yelp. Sharp Water Solutions had a stellar rating. The reviews convinced this super skeptic when it comes to making the call for someone to give a bid on an expensive repair. It was easy to set up an appointment and they were here when they said they would be. They spent time talking me through the options and didn't hard sell me on anything. They didn't even suggest a replacement but I was already anticipating it because our unit had reached its limit. They said they could install one of their partner water heaters or I could purchase one and have them install it for me, both at reasonable rates. I ended up going with their water heater because it could be done same day without a lot of hassle. The pricing was fair and reasonable. They were done in a couple hours and we are back up and running with hot water. Many of the other companies that claim to be local have been bought out by private equity firms and their pricing reflects it. Steer clear. These guys are legit and will be the place I call when water/plumbing-related issues arise!

They were responsive and a tech came out within a day or two. It turns out the water was due more to my drain hose and had nothing to do with the equipment. My dad recommended them to me after he had a great purchase and install experience. I won't go anywhere else for anything I can get from Sharp.

This place has very scammy sales tactics. A "water expert" came out to my house to test the water…read more Based on the results, he showed me water test results from the Environmental Working Group which was clearly meant to alarm consumers of various chemicals in their drinking water. Literally all of the "contaminants" were well below the legal limit, often 10x or more lower. Despite that, the EWG conveniently had their guideline at often 100x lower than the legal limit! That seemed very fishy to me. I looked into EWG afterwards and found that they are considered an activist lobbying organization who many environmental experts consider to be "alarmist" and overstate the risk of chemicals (see the EWG wikipedia entry). Throughout the testing process I asked questions about the test results and them being well below the legal limits. Despite all my reasonable questions, the "water expert" gradually ramped up the fear factics and used outright lies to try to dissuade me from even considering drinking tap or fridge-filtered water. He started with stating the dangers of chlorine, flouride, and other "contaminants" in water. At one point he mentioned the dangers of pharmaceuticals in the water that could make me sick. He told me the tap water is literally unsafe to drink and that "everyone buys bottled water". At one point I pushed back on the amount of contaminants in water from the EWG. The results are in parts-per-billion. So I asked him how many water molecules are in a glass of water. 1 trillion? The "water expert" said it was more like 1 billion. I looked up the real value later. It is closer to 8 billion trillion molecules. We were both way off, but I would expect a "water expert" to be a lot closer to the real value than I was. As for the cost of their water-filtration system. He quoted me at $84/mo. This is a loan payment. Actual full cost? $7,000! I looked online for similar systems for sale. I found some two or three stage filters for as low as $500. The high-end ones I found were ~$2,000. btw I'm very dissapointed with home depot. They partner with this organization and allow their sales people inside the store! That's how I made contact. This is like a pharmacy allowing homeopathy sales people to pitch to their customers while picking up real medicine prescriptions. tl;dr; this company uses scare tactics and lies to try to sell home owners water filtration systems that they don't need at at least 3 times the cost of similar filtration systems you can buy online.
