Talk about going the extra mile! Greg and his team have been installing and providing maintenance for my water softener and RO for many years now. So when I moved into a new home recently and noticed hard water spots, there was only one guy I would trust to do the job right. Greg is passionate about clean water and knowledgable about the business, top to bottom and inside out. Mark arrived promptly, right on schedule for every appointment. There were several emails and calls to let me know exactly when he was en route and set to arrive. This is quite rare for any kind of delivery or repair service. I didn't have to wait around for two hours hoping to get on with my day which I appreciate. The softener and RO were installed the very next day after Mark came for the estimate. The installation was clean and professional and efficient. These guys really know what they're doing and they roll out the red carpet for their clients...seriously. There's a red carpet on the front steps to keep everything as neat and clean as possible. We needed a hole drilled in the quartz counters for the RO faucet and Mark and his team scheduled it for me with a company that also showed up that day and gave me some very helpful ideas on maintaining the countertops! Now on to the actual product. This water is amazing! The RO does not have any chemical taste that you might find in other systems. It simply tastes like delicious, clean water. And the softener is wonderful. The dishes are cleaner, the showers and tubs are cleaner, my skin and hair is softer, I could go on and on about how much I enjoy clean water. There is also the practical side of protecting and preserving plumbing and fixtures for many many years to come, so that we can get on with enjoying life instead of fixing broken plumbing. The products were installed to perfection. The tanks under the sink are clean and neat and the softener and plumbing are the same. Greg and the staff at AMI have gone the extra mile every step along the way of installing my new water system and I couldn't be happier with it or recommend them more highly. If two specialists who install water softeners do not see the unit is plumbed directly into a sewage line without an air gap or other manner to prevent backflow, says the bacteria in the salt tank is normal, and does not perform a plate count, I would not hire him/them. The water would not pass Utah much less California standards. read more

As a woman, I'm usually nervous having a strange man into my home when I'm alone. But this tech was clean cut, non-smoker, courteous, and never made me feel creeped out. He showed up on time and got right to work and was willing to explain the process in terms I could easily understand and he took the time to answer all my questions. The work was phenomenal, I love the reverse osmosis system next to my kitchen faucet, it was a perfect match! And he ran the system to my refrigerator water and ice system! I never knew that was possible! I believe the prices were fair, but I also highly value quality over a cheap deal. If you purchase a Crusader system, you will live to regret it. Ours was purchased 5 years ago and is just barely out of warranty. We left our Utah townhome over this last summer for 3 months. While we were away, our $100 a month water bill went to $900 a month. Over 3 months, that cost us $2400 we didn't plan on. This occurred because of a worn valve in the water softener that used FAR more water than it should have. The company is aware of this problem and they charged us even more to fix it. Do yourself a favor and buy a system where you won't have to check all your bills constantly to see if Crusader's poor quality products are siphoning off hundreds of dollars - ripping you off behind your back. It is one thing for a system to "break" -- that would be expected after 5 years. It is completely unacceptable to have a system that will effectively drain your bank account without you knowing it. read more

I moved into a recently renovated house with all new bathroom fixtures and a full glass shower in February 2020. The water where I live has a hardness of around 17 gpg putting it in the "very hard" category. We almost immediately began to see scale buildup and water spots on our new shower, and in the tiny holes in the shower-head. I decided we needed a water softener primarily to maintain our new fixtures and keep the shower looking fresh. I was originally planning on buying an off-the-shelf system from a big box store, but after speaking with Crusader Water system I decided to go with one of their systems. Crusader was extremely professional, they wore shoe booties on our carpet, asked permission before entering the house or taking photos of our plumbing, they arrived precisely when they said they would, and communicated very well. My installer, Mark, was clearly passionate about the product he was selling and installing, he gave an excellent demo of how the water softener could benefit us and answered my questions thoroughly. I told Mark I was considering a generic water softener from a hardware store and he explained why that might not be a good idea, and why Crusader systems are so much better. The installation went smoothly, took around 2 hours, was done very professionally and Mark spent time explaining how the system worked and what maintenance needed to be done. We now have soft water and no more spots have been showing up on our brand new glass shower! Pros: - Extremely professional! Timely, respectful, thorough, communicative. - The best water products on the Wasatch Front. - No more hard water, our water went from ~17 to ~1 gpg. Cons: - The sales pitch was too long, took around an hour, my attention span lasted about 15 minutes. - Perhaps a little pricier than competitors, but it's a better product. - Didn't come with salt, for the price they should have included the first batch of salt. - Using anything other than ProGuard resin cleaner voids the warranty, ProGuard is very expensive and only available through Crusader. read more

We moved into a home with a non-working water softener, so we called the manufacturer and they recommended Aqua Mechanical to come service the softener. They first checked our water pressure and found that we had a bad pressure regulator valve, so we fixed that first. We were very VERY glad to catch this! After one failed attempt at fixing the old softener, we ended up installing a Crusader whole-house filtration system. We are going on 1.5 months with the system, and so far it seems to be working well. We bought a PurTest Home Water Analysis Kit and got the following results: UNFILTERED WATER \ FILTERED WATER Chlorine: 0 ppm \ 0 ppm Nitrate: 0 ppm \ 0 ppm Copper: 1.3 ppm \ 0 ppm Nitrite: less than 0.5 ppm \ 0 ppm Bacteria: Not tested \ Negative Alkalinity: 150 ppm \ 180 ppm Hardness: 9 grains \ 0 grains pH: 9 \ 9.5 Iron: 0 ppm \ 0 ppm Lead: Not tested \ Negative Pesticide: Not tested \ Negative Pros: Crusader definitely softens the water and filters it further than the public water supply. We have noticed that our water heater keeps the water just as hot but on a lower heat setting, and we don't have to use much soap, etc. We can feel the difference in the water when we shower, and now we don't deal with hard water deposits. Cons: The city does a pretty good job filtering the water for the categories we tested, so we may not have needed the filtering in addition to softening. The filtered water also tastes a little weird, so we mostly still drink tap water and water that is filtered through the fridge only. It is interesting that the alkalinity of the filtered water is higher than the tap water; in fact, if the alkalinity were much higher it would be problematic; this may also be some of the reason for the weird taste. Mark was very knowledgeable and polite. We received a $500 credit for our non-working softener. We didn't realize there was a 10-day registration window to activate the multi-year warranty, but it turned out Mark had already taken care of that for us. (Thank you!!) They also used the payment we had made for the previous service call trying to fix the old water softener toward the installation of the new system. I am not one to leave positive reviews. I expect to receive the best product and best service, as a given, when I make any purchase. My recent water softener system purchase and experience with Patrick, cannot go without me sharing my comments. I am skeptical by nature, and very distrusting of businesses that sell home products / appliances etc. When I decided, after several years of not having Soft Water, to look into the latest technology on the market - I did some real homework. Due to the very positive reviews of Crusader Water of Utah, and the quality of their systems, I reached out to them, and was put into contact with Patrick. Patrick was very professional, very knowledgeable and very matter of fact. To my surprise, he was not the "car salesman" of water softeners that I was expecting. He was not pushy whatsoever. Patrick offered to make a home visit and evaluate the overall water condition of my house. Ok, and here it begins! I instantly felt the suspicions of the "what will it take to put you into this water softener today..." tactics now in play......but I was also very interested in knowing what the condition of my water actually was, and what options were available. It was an absolutely no cost, no strings attached visit - what did I have to lose? - so I accepted. When Patrick arrived, he very thoroughly explained what he was going to test and test for, how he was going to conduct those tests, what the results of the tests were going to show, and what those results meant. He explained all of this prior to even performing the tests. That brought down my "shields" a little bit! He then went on to describe the tests, and the testing equipment he would be using. It was all very open. No magic or sleight of hand - just real scientific testing. As he prepared to perform the tests, he again, detailed what the procedures were testing for and again, what the results would mean. So much information the first time, it was nice to have a refresher explanation. Patrick then asked me to participate in conducting the tests. Hands on huh?...... shields are dropping even more! The tests....and the test results were extremely eye opening! Patrick then explained what everything meant, and how it affected my daily life and activities (e.g. showers, personal cleanliness, washing clothes, washing dishes etc.). He showed me what Crusader Water of Utah has to offer, what each option consisted of, what the services and warrantees for each option were and of course, the costs associated. They were all very good options, with high quality equipment. He did not try to push the most expensive system on me.... in fact, based off the conversations we had had, he was recommending a middle of the road option. (I went for the Best Option though!!). We scheduled an Install Date, and much to my surprise, Patrick himself showed up to do the installation. (BTW - he was there at the exact time that we had scheduled!). Patrick spent a good part of the afternoon (much longer than I think he or his company probably anticipated it would take) installing the system - but, the reason it took longer, was because Patrick pointed out some deficiencies in my old home's tubing and drain system, and corrected and improved them for me.....for no additional costs. What???!!! who does that anymore???!!! I have now had my new water softener system in and operating for over a month. It is absolutely AMAZING....and the changes Patrick said I would notice.... I Definitely Notice....and I LOVE IT!!! Patrick also made a second home visit, and of course, at no additional cost - to see if I was satisfied, but more so to again perform the same tests on the condition my home's water now. The changes were absolute PROOF POSITIVE. This is not a gimmick, this was not "car salesmanship," this is an amazing system and has already made a huge improvement in my day-to-day life! I want to thank Crusader Water of Utah, but mostly, I'd like to sincerely thank Patrick - for his absolute honesty, integrity and quality product and customer service. It is obvious that they believe in (and stand behind) their water softener products and take great pride in their outstanding customer service. Thank you for changing my life......and for changing my belief that there are no companies out there anymore that offer a great product with phenomenal customer service, and who care about their customers. I hired them to install my RO unit, and from the beginning of the process they were very helpful. Mark especially, who came out and installed the RO unit, and I live pretty far away but he came out no problem. The install was smooth and he was even able to connect the RO unit to my freezer so I could have pure ice. As he performed the job he would explain what he was doing so that I could understand and that was very nice. Mark was a hard worker and performed the job in a timely and quality manner. I searched for a water treatment expert for months and did lots of my own research on water treatment systems. Everyone I had come to my house knew far less about water softeners and filters than I did. There is an enormous amount of misinformation out there on the internet about water softening and filtering. I found so much conflicting information it was really hard to figure out what direction to go. My search ended when I finally found Aqua Mechanical. Jeff and Greg both paid my house a visit and they explained everything to me to a great degree of detail as deep as I wanted to go. They really know their stuff! I hired Aqua Mechanical to install the AO Smith Vertex 76,000 BTU 50 gallon 90% efficient water heater as well as the Crusader Deluxe water softener/whole house water filter. During the summer only the water heater is using gas and our monthly bill is only $12! They also installed the Crusader UV Light which kills all bacteria in the water. I couldn't be happier with the whole setup! The water is now soft and all chlorine and other undesirables are removed as well as all bacteria are killed. A couple months ago there was a boil order on water in our area and we didn't have to worry about it because we knew our water was clean and safe regardless of what mistakes our municipality water supplier makes. (Also I installed a reverse osmosis drinking water filter under our kitchen sink so we're doubly protected.) We use an average of 94 gallons of water per day in our house and we go through about one 40 lbs bag of salt per month which costs about $3.20 per bag. The installers for Aqua Mechanical were thorough and meticulous in their installation and did a great job explaining everything to me. They were also willing to work with me to let me do a little bit of pre-work prior to their arrival to save myself some money. I had them install the salt brine tank in the garage with a tube running down to the basement so that I can load up the 40 lbs salt bags into the brine tank in the garage which is super convenient! They installed both the water heater and the softener in a metal tray with 2 inch sides which has a 2 inch pipe drain going to the floor drain just in case there is a water leak. Plus they provided a water sensor alarm to make sure if there's any water in the tray we'll hear an audible alarm to bring it to our attention. Beneath that tray they installed a 1 inch closed cell foam pad to stop any heat from transferring from the water heater into the cement floor. Totally love our whole home water system and RO. I can't believe how great the non-RO water tastes and that the RO water can taste even better. In our first home we had a crazy expensive system from door to door that never lived up to the cost. Second home we had a system from Lowes installed, and it was fine, much cheaper, and similar to our previous expensive model. But neither can even come close to matching the Crusader system we have now. RO system we got at the same time is perfect and it never runs out of water. Mark is the best and Greg has been super helpful in answering questions and helping us with faucet issues because our hole was drilled too larger.
