I'm giving this business 5 stars because of customer service. I chose this business because they were the only store in my immediate area that had an item. I went there and the sales guy answered all of my questions and let me try things and test them out. The item I purchase was leaking and I called the store right before closing. I returned the item on Monday and the young man that helped me Saturday wasn't there but he told his brother I would be returning. The brother offered to exchange the item or a full refund. He told me he didn't need my receipt and gave me a full refund. Although this purchase didn't work out for me, I'll will continue to give them my business in the future. read more

Were patient with me during my inquires and their warm disposition made me want to be a long time patron of their store. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They outright lied to me on the phone. I was doing some work on the house, and needed a specific kind of white paint. I knew I could get it at Home Depot, but wasn't really thrilled about going and lugging it back to the apartment so I called around. I walk by Flat Hardware every day and I've really never seen customers in there, but I gave it a shot anyway. Spoke to a nice enough-sounding guy on the phone, gave him the details on what I needed, and he said they had it. I walked over, identified myself to him, and he proceeds to tell me that any shade of white or any gloss would do. No, actually I wasn't born yesterday and it won't. I asked you for a specific product, you wasted my time, and if I didn't know better my wall would look like shit right now. The guy who lied seems to be the manager, which says even more about this business. I understand being desperate for sales but there's never an excuse to lie outright--especially when it comes to something that messes with a person's home. I'd advise sticking to Hawthorne Hardware a few blocks down. They've been in the neighborhood a long time, they're honest, there's usually people in there, and there's a reason why. read more

These guys are SCAMMERS. Please stay away. Horrible customer service. I went to rent a drill gun which was horrible. It did not work well at all and completely damaged my walls. When I went back to return it, I told him this drill gun is not efficient and messed up my walls. He completely dismissed me and said "he couldn't help". read more

NEVER BUY PAINT HERE, three times I bought paint form these guys and three time they got the color wrong. Mixer is probably out of calibration, but these instances strech over many months. They really dont know anything about hardware, they just sell merchendise. On the flip side if you live in the hood its a very conveinent store for odds and ends and the prices are really good. read more

I recently came here to get some paint and supplies, and I was very impressed with their customer service. They helped me pick out all of the extra painting supplies I would need. Everything was reasonably priced, or even cheap. I had some keys cut too which was very cheap. It's nice to have a good hardware store in the neighborhood. I'll definitely be back. read more

The people here are very friendly. I painted every wall in my house with paint from Flat Hardware and my house now looks amazing. You can do so many DIY projects with tools and equipment from here. The prices are much lower than other hardware stores. I drive so I am constantly worried about parking. When I visit Flat hardware I always ask the guy where something is and he shows me very quickly. But I do have to admit that they have so many things at great prices that I spend more time getting everything I need from Flat Hardware. Highly recommended! read more

I don't know what Justin is talking about?! His rating is unfair and unjust. For one measly issue he encountered at this hardware store, he gave a bad rating. When in fact they have great service, especially in the paint section and every item's price is clearly marked. As far as the "dishonesty" maybe it was a communication error between the two. This is MY regular hardware store and I will keep coming here (especially after wasting my time checking out Hawthorne hardware down the block and found NOTHING I needed). read more

For all things hardware that I need, this is the reliable local place. As a UPS access point, the reliability is more iffy. It may be the fault of UPS but I frequently get a UPS delivery message that says the store wasn't open to receive the package. Why wouldn't UPS know the store hours? Why wouldn't they have a fallback plan for getting packages that people are waiting for, i just don't understand. Other than this issue, I think the store is great and glad to have a resource like this that is local. read more
