I dunno what the hate is about... place ain't that bad. Drinks are tasty and the bartenders are nice and nice lookin too. Karaoke every night but Sunday, DJ's are cool but the music list is a bit on the older side. The back deck is simple and not a complete mess if you don't look too hard. The men's room is gross for sure, and I finally saw something duct tape shouldn't be used to fix which was impressive. It's divey, dicey and sometimes a bit rough but, all in all most of the singers sucked more than I did up there and clapped at my jokes and songs so... yeah I'd be down to go again next time we're in town. read more

Flanigan's is a dive bar and the previous reviewers aren't far off. It's where yooper cougars meet to stalk their prey. I enjoy bad karaoke, plentiful cheap beer and a good dive bar. I love the doorbells at the table signalling the salty waitstaff to bring refills. That alone is the reason to go to there, sit on your arse, enjoy bad karaoke and git lit. Flanigan's is Irish in name only so don't think you're going to get bangers and mash unless it's from the cougars. You'll probably get something that will require penicillin also ;) read more

Once used to be a fun night spo for karaoke and meeting locals but now it has slid downhill. Gone are the days when Pierre was the KJ host and knew how to entertain the crowd. The establishment hasn't been taking care of and needs a lot of attention. The current KJ host is awful. He is a rookie and doesn't have a voice. He is not presentable and clearly doesn't know how to run a Karaoke show and can't sing at all. When other guests are on the stage singing, he needs to stop trying to participate in their song since he can't sing and only makes it worse. He doesn't play any transition music between the singers to try to keep the activity running and then the system itself is not that good and no monitor speakers for the singers.. He tries to tell jokes or tries to be funny but everybody is pretty much just wanting him to shut up. He just doesn't belong in that position. The drinks are cheap which is a good thing but there are other bars in town that are just a little bit cheaper. You're certainly not getting any ambiance or a comfortable atmosphere in there and sometimes they allow people to get too drunk and don't control those people. The atmosphere is definitely ripe for a bar fight and that's why I didn't even stay.. It seemed like a hostile environment. read more

My wife's family lives in Marquette, so we go up there quite a bit. Every time we go up, we always seem to find our way back to Flanigans. Not only is the staff friendly, but they pour a great drink! My wife has even convinced me to do karaoke, which is a tall task. If you're ever in the area, or live there currently, I highly recommend heading over to Flanigans. read more

Do yourself a favor. Do NOT go here. Just like a previous post said, This place, along with its massive amount of middle-aged women trying to get laid by singing Shania Twain and Bon Jovi, is depressing and pathetic. Spot on. This is a dumpy bar for dumpy locals. I don't know why that other reviewer would even dream of eating there - yuck! The place is like a giant ashtray, which is just what you'll smell like after a night out here. The beer is crap and so is the service, but sometimes, that's what I'm looking for. It was a friends birthday tonight and we went just for karaoke. Clearly it's just for locals as we were there an hour and half before close And the DJ completely wrote off the song we wanted to sing. Everyone else had their turn, he played a few karaoke songs in between, and when it came Down to the final song, he chose to sing it himself! How lousy! Did I mention it wasn't even close to busy in there (20 people tops - including our group of 8). Thanks DJ, for self centerdly ending my friends 21st birthday on a lame note!!! read more

This place is a fairly decent bar but nothing really exciting. It's kind of a dumpy place only the locals would go to. It's supposed to be an Irish bar, but I think they really missed that target. Their space is very small - weekends it's so crowded you can barely get to the bar for a drink. Their prices are low but so is the quality of the drinks. It's not the best bar in town, but it's a bar. read more

I'm writing this review based on the last 3 years although I grew up in Marquette and have been in Flanigan's many times before. First off, Michigan passed the smoking ban so this place is fine regarding the smoke, except there still is a lingering smell. The food here is non-existent however they are starting to push the Dano's pizza, so I will go and try during my time back. As for this place being an Irish bar, well I have never known it to be one, nor is there a true Irish pub anywhere in Marquette with exceptions to Wild Rover. Just don't expect it and you'll be fine. Now the only reason why I go there is because it can be pretty difficult finding places to hang out at where people go and stay. Flanigan's during karaoke is one of those places to go. So if you take anything from this review, its that if you want to go where the people are then drive by, if the lot is full, stop in and grab a beer. Don't expect to 5 star but more of a solid 3.
