The chef accompanied our low carb needs and designed a very well balanced meal for us. The sake that is recommended fits very well with the fish and our personal taste because we didn't like to have strong alcohol. All the food is very fresh and yummy even for someone that's not super adventurous in raw fish. One only thing is the rest of the restaurant seem to be a regular fast paced Japanese restaurant so it doesn't look like they'd have such quality food here. But don't judge the book by its cover!

They had a really good selection of drinks from Japan. From whiskey to gin to beer to sake, every selection they had went well with the food they served. The dishes were small shareable plates so we just shared everything. Here are some of the standout dishes at our table that pleased everyone: Fried Tofu: They said that the tofu came straight from Japan and was put straight into the fryer. So the nice crispy shell is the tofu itself. It was indeed tasty without any additives. Pork Belly: Simple and grilled to perfection with a slight sear. Flavors of most fatty meat come out nicely and this one was no exception. Fried rice with soft boiled egg: What an interesting take on fried rice... with a Japanese styled soft boiled egg. IMO, you can add that soft boiled egg to almost anything and it would make it better. This was a perfect combo (and also a perfect compliment to the stiff drinks they were serving). Japanese gin: we all know Japanese whiskey is top notch. I had never tried a Japanese gin until this night. Just had it with a touch of tonic and it was really smooth. Give it a shot (pun intended). We tried a bunch of other dishes and all were pretty much spectacular. We liked the vibe and the attentiveness and courtesy of the staff. The entire restaurant was also treated to show where they flame up a fish in a traditional Japanese way (I'm guessing... don't quote me on that). Then they serve the fish to each of the tables. Just a nice touch to add to a delightful eventing of food and drinks. Kanpai!

As good as it gets" My relatives brought me here for dinner when I visited Hong Kong from the US (haven't been back since 1997). This place is in a fishing village/area, we took the subway and got off at the Yau Tong station, after asking around we got to the seafood area...it was a lot of walking to get to this specific restaurant. This restaurant is at the END of all the other ones along the shore. As you twist and turn to get here, you will pass by a bunch of stores that sell fresh seafood and many will hassle you into eating at their adjacent restaurants. One thing I noticed about ALL the stores is that nothing smelled "fishy"! There was not a stench in the air! I've always heard that fresh seafood does not smell fishy. This is the first time I understood what they were talking about. When we finally got to the restaurant, my family decided on the dishes they wanted, I'm not sure if it was because they knew the owner or if this was something you can ask for because we were walked back out to their tanks to pick out the fish, lobster, clams, etc that we wanted. It was a totally awesome experience. The food was nothing short of AMAZING! I have never had seafood this great in my entire 35 years of life and I live 10 minutes from the ocean in California. Everything was cooked perfectly and dishes were not overly seasoned so the flavor of the seafood really comes out. The "peeing" shirmp was soooooooo good, it was better than any Maine lobster I've had. Yes I just compared a shrimp to a lobster, it was that good! If there's anything I would recommend, it would be that and the jack knife clams. Price is a little on the high end especially given the cheap food prices in Hong Kong, but I can't wait to visit again.

If no one guide or direct us to there, it will take us long time to find it. One of my friends is their regular customer and he got VIP room reserved. Nice! I didn't follow them to select live/fresh seafood from the tanks or seafood market coz I preferred to spend time with my friends for chatting. My good friends would know I like anything kind of live seafood, just pick whatever.... Poached shrimps - Caridean shrimps size are pretty small but it tasted so fresh and sweet. Stir fried razor clams with black bean sauce - **my favourite dish** It cooked perfectly and so delicious. Steamed scallops with garlic and cellophane noodles - Scallop so fresh and mixed with garlic so tasty. Stir fried Jumbo mantis shrimp with garlic and chili - Mantis shrimp just a bit overcooked coz was a little bit chewy. But, I liked the smell with garlic and chili. Steamed Grouper - I loved steamed fresh fish, it cooked perfectly and fantastic. Steamed fresh Abalones - It is finest seafood! Abalone texture was firmed and clean aftertaste tasted. Thumbs up!! Chinese Mitten crabs - The season just started and we're in right timing to have mitten crabs. It's not meaty like Dungeness crab. It's custardy in texture and like sea urchin.. I also felt guilty to eat whole mitten crab coz it's quite high cholesterol. Gai Lan - it's great coz we should have more veggies (rich in fiber) and help for digestion. Fruits platter - The mango was so tasty and juicy and grapes were sweet too. I don't mind to come back next time for such good quality of dishes.

This took like forever, to the point, my wife left the restaurant to go back to our hotel. I waited and waited, finally flagged down the waitress and told her, I been waiting a long time for our take out dessert and bill. Service was horrible! It was served with a Japanese mayonnaise, which complemented the flavours. The portions were quite generous and I'd did walk out full, and the side salad was good, but the complementary appetizer salad seemed a little too sour- that's coming from someone who likes sour food. The Chaiwanmushi was good overall- it had a pleasing sweetness to it. The miso soup as you'd expect- salty, and flavourful, but I was surprised by the amount of fried tofu that they wound up putting inside of it. Overall, this was a good experience at Zushi ANA, and I will probably try their sushi in a future visit.

They have lunch sets for 2 up to 6 people, and the structure is Pizza + Pasta + Wings/Sides + Salad + Drink. For 2 people, it would be one of each food and 2 drinks, so you can imagine the amount of food they give you. For 6 people you get 2 of each, plus 6 drinks, and one time when we ordered this set, they accidentally gave us 3 pastas but nicely let us keep the extra one for free - I was asleep at my desk for most that afternoon. The pastas are generally decent but harder than the al dente that other Italian places in HK do. The pizzas are great, and the selection is large, although a bit on the dry, biscuit-y side, and not as good as the more established (chain owned) pizzerias like Linguini Fini and Piccolo. I heard the owner Jacomax is usually based in the Sheung Wan shop and actually makes the pizzas himself, so perhaps that's where you can find the best quality. One thing I appreciate is that they have a fun approach to making pizzas. When I first came to the area during October, they had a Halloween theme where the store was dressed up in a spooky theme and there were actually Halloween pizzas! It was pretty fun to see little ghosts and pumpkin scattered on your pizzas, squid ink (I think) was used instead of tomato paste to create a black backdrop and make it all the more spookier. And pricing is around HKD125/person (HKD 750 for a 6 person meal), much cheaper than you can get at the chains I mentioned just now. Pretty sweet deal!
