Breakfast in Hong Kong…read more.. We saw McDonald's across the street from our hotel and decided to dine here! We ordered at the kiosk because the McDonald's app didn't work. We stood in line to pay at the counter. Service was efficient - especially with a long line and just one cashier! There were many seating options: small tatables, high tops, and long, separated tables. The lighting was muted. There was pleasant Chinese pop music playing in the background! I got the combo meal: grilled chicken pasta with tomato soup and Hot Lemon Tea. It came with hash browns - the regular type that you get in the USA. The curly pasta was good! It wasn't mushy! The tomato soup was on the watery side, but tasted great and had some corn kernels in it! The grilled chicken was challenging to eat. I pierced it with a fork and took a bite... I need a fork! It had some kick to it, but was tender with a bit of gristle. The tea was very dark and strong... it helped me Kickstart my day! Happy Sunday! This was our first meal in Hong Kong!

Nothing like the familiarity of our McDonald's though here in Hong Kong the varieties for breakfast alone is pretty impressive, wished I took pics of the menu but today it was the simple Luncheon Meat McMuffin which replaced the Canadian bacon for a thick cut of luncheon meat. Very mild and delicate nothing like spam which is very salty and I really enjoyed every single bite. They do have breakfast Happy Meal as well which I believe are pancakes but why don't we have this in the states...ordering is by kiosk only though you have the option of card payment T the kiosk or cash at the counter. Access is by stairs only which is my only complain but with lots of seating and fast service it's a great option to start your day on a friendly and yummy budget. Thank you!

It is a little better than average. The pork chop was very thick, a big plus. The baking process was done very well. The pork chop edge had the taste of bbq pork. The rice was fried rice, but not as flavorful as the one in the internet food review. The cheese and tomato sauce mixed well with the rice. There were onions and carrots pieces, which were well cooked, so soft. The baked pork chop rice was above average, but not wonderful tasting. Overall, this is a go if you are a local, but if I have to travel to get to this place, I will not come. Ray out!

I gave it a 1-star rating due to its restroom (toilet), which did not have soap to wash your hands. I always carry a travel-sized hand soap with me when I travel abroad as I don't touch food without having washed my hands first, which is probably why I don't usually catch a cold or flu, and never caught Covid in the past few years despite all the travel I do. Although I was able to wash my hands with my own soap after I used their restroom, the thought of the kitchen staff and servers handling my food not washing their hands with soap and water after they use the restroom was just too annoying and disgusting to me. I simply don't like restaurants that don't enable their staff and customers to maintain good hygiene.

After going down the stairs there's McCafé or regular McDonald's to choose from. You can either order what you want from the many kiosks or order from a staff. On this particular occasion I went with the Matcha Red Bean Layer Cake and Soy Milk Matcha. There's a deal when you order a large drink plus a cake that the layer cake drops from $29 to $18. I like that I was able to pay with my Octopus (transportation card, like the Presto in the GTA) so that I didn't have to look for the correct amount of change. The layer cake tasted of match but it was a very subtle flavour. The red beans were a nice addition. The soy milk matcha had a heavier flavour of matcha and was quite smooth. When I sat down I noticed that there's wireless chargers on the tops of the high top tables as well as USB ports on the side. I wasn't able to connect to WiFi this time but I appreciate being able to charge my phone after taking lots of photos during the day.

I got a earl grey tea latte (HK$26) from McCafe which was enjoyably dreamy and frothy. There isn't enough seating here. The McCafe seating area is rather small and I did not see any seating on the McDonald's side either. Thus I had to venture into the food court to find a seat. If you decide to visit this location on the weekends, expect long lines and likely a wait for a seat. If you can't stand waiting, get takeout and find a seat in the food court. Though again there may be limited seating there too, especially if you need a large table for a group.
