At no point, before or during the repair, was I given a total cost estimate outside of the initial $175 or a chance to approve the total job amount prior to completion. It was shocking, then, that the final invoice came out to $800: a $175 diagnostic fee, two hours of labor at $175/hour, and a $275 charge for a part (contactor) that retails for $50 or less. In addition, I wasn't given an invoice upon completion of the job, but rather I had to ask for it twice afterward. Project: We had an ugly, weed infested rock garden on a hill adjacent to the back of our home with a rotted and leaning retaining wall ready to collapse. The hill area needed leveling and reshaping, then weed barrier, rocks, and shrubs planted. The retaining wall is now made of interlocking stones and is completely level. We also added a circular yard stone patio with a stone fire pit and grill in the center. Our backyard now has an old English stone flare and is very classy. People: Joel met with us initially and followed through with us and the workers until the end.
