This is what you owe them for simply driving to your house. The service technician said that they are suppose to tell you that before they come out but in my case, it was a total surprise. He further explained that it was like a service contract and that if you had additional issues later in the year, they would come back and not charge the fee. However, I was advised by their main office today that it is not a service contract but rather a warranty of their original work. I feel ripped off and I will never use them again.

The Fireplace Doctor offered a narrower arrival window (2 vs 4 hours), a competitive clean up and repair fee, and a better repair solution. The place we bought the fireplace and used prior for service was good. For this repair the alternative services provide stated the likely part needed was an entire assembly made up of three parts and cost $200+. The Fireplace Doctor proposed changing one of the three components. And the price was $20.
