These guys are great. They make everything painless and smooth! They serviced multiple electric fireplaces for us and put in a whole new chimney liner. Ben was our original rep and he was such a pleasant, knowledgeable guy. The gentleman who did our chimney work, Victor, was professional, efficient, hard working, and completed quality work in a very timely fashion. Out of all of the work we've had done on our property, these guys are hands down the best experience we've had yet. Keep up the great work! read more

Hal did a very efficient job in cleaning our chimney, doing a thorough inspection and describing our options for repair and replacement. He was the definition of professionalism, quality and astute salesmanship. Great connections on some common interests too. He earned a sale on top of all this. Thanks Hal! read more

Ryan was excellent! We requested service from chimney doctors to find a leak. He was thorough in assessing the issue, took lots of pictures and a video to reference, and quickly found our issue. He came back to explain the issue in detail and our options to fix the leak. He was able to fix it in the same service call. We will definitely be using Chimney Doctors again. read more

Unhappy to learn I had to pay for an inspection a year later on the work they performed. I had a huge amount of work completed and now they are saying I need to have the firebox repaired due to cracks and mortar issue. I asked their inspector point blank why this wasn't addressed when I had other work done and his answer was "I don't know" after HE showed me photos from a year ago with the SAME cracks. Look somewhere else is my advice. read more

Great sales rep! Hal knew details behind why each suggestion was made and took time to answer my questions. He even called my insurance adjuster to find out exactly what would be covered read more

I recently had Chimney Doctors clean and make a repair for a natural gas fireplace. Scheduling was very easy and the tech was knowledgeable and efficient. I did have a billing problem, but they were pleasant and easy to work with to resolve the issue. Chimney Doctors' pricing is quite high but probably comparable to other fireplace servicers. I would definitely recommend them but suggest comparing pricing first. read more

Recently had a 25 year old chimney chase cap replaced by Chimney Doctors of Burnsville, MN. I chose them largely due to the confidence inspired by Ryan McGonigal during his inspection and estimate visit, followed on the date scheduled with a beautiful installation by Josh Kryzer and his partner, Nick. Kudos to Chimney Doctors for their great craftsmen and staff!! read more

If there were an Olympic event for chimney wizardry, Ryan from Chimney Doctors would take home the gold--no competition, just him standing on the podium, holding a chimney brush like a torch. This man doesn't just seal, clean, fix, advise on chimneys; he restores faith in good, old-fashioned service with a smile. Ryan arrived right on time, radiating expertise and a "no soot left behind" attitude. He explained everything in a way that even my dog seemed to understand, and he treated our home like it was his own (meaning no mess, no stress, and no surprise raccoon tenants left behind). By the time he was done, our chimney was working so well it changed the entire temperature of our house. Beyond his technical skills, Ryan is just a great guy--kind, funny, and the type of person you'd want at your family's holiday dinner (or at least as your go-to chimney guy for life). If you need chimney work done and you don't call Ryan, honestly, I just have questions. Chimney Doctors, you've got a real MVP on your hands. Give this man a much deserved raise!! Ryan, thank you for making our home safer, warmer, and for reminding us that top-notch service still exists! Shout out to Courtney too! She was so warm, friendly, informative, and accessible on the phone when I made the appointment. Thank you!! read more

The work done by chimney doctors Cole and Roosevelt in installing a vent cap on top of our faulty chimney and replacing most of the aging flue, down to the roof line, was first rate. They finished the entire job in one day, in hot weather, were very friendly, and went about their business from the moment they arrived at our house (as was pre-arranged with the company). I'll feel relieved when the large trash container is collected, but that's already been set up. Glad to recommend them. read more

Knowledgeable, quality, timely and excellent communication. Fully explained choices and decided on switching to gas versus wood.

I have positive things to say about the Chimney Doctors field staff and they easily deserve five stars. I am unhappy with the way the office handled problems when they came up so the resulting rating is two stars. Chimney Doctors hired an electrical subcontractor to run a circuit to a fireplace in my house. I wanted to discuss the route of the wiring with the electrician prior to work but I was told I couldn't. When the electrician was at my house and about to start working I finally was able to talk with him via phone. I was really surprised by the ugly and lazy wiring methods he wanted to use. I was clear about the wiring plan but he decided to do otherwise. I had no control over him, he was working for Chimney Doctors. I told Chimney Doctors the work was not as planned and unacceptable but they told me it was between me and their electrical subcontractor to figure things out. I did not want to pay their electrician to fix things based on my experience with them plus - I'm already paying them once to do the work. So I fixed the wiring myself. The part that seemed so hard for people who were hired to do the work took me five minutes to do and it looks infinitely better. I ended up doing work that I'm paying someone else to do but I'm also paying for additional materials and permit fees to fix their mistake. I also get to wait two more weeks for their work to (hopefully) finally get completed because we need to wait for the wiring fixes to be inspected. Meanwhile, they have five stages of unguarded scaffolding attached to my house (and the scaffolding is sitting mostly on my neighbor's lawn). There is a really gross feeling that comes with having no control over what other people are doing in your house. Plus, before work started I asked Chimney Doctors to give me a contract signed by both me and Chimney Doctors. They refused. Really? read more

Hal W. and Chimney Doctors came to my house for an inspection and I was blown away. Hal W. was on time, professional, extremely personable and friendly. He was very thorough and did a great job explaining everything going on and walking me through my options. After he left, I noticed he had even cleaned out my fireplace which was a mess and full of leaves!!! I can't say enough about how great this experience was, specifically Hal W who really went above and beyond - THANK YOU Hal and Chimney Doctors. read more

I had masonry work done on my chimney summer 2021. My gas fireplace didn't work properly all winter 2021-22 despite service visits from Centerpoint, the original masonry contractor and other gas fireplace installers. No one could figure it out. Steve from Chimney Doctors made all the difference. During the single service call, he asked great questions and connected the dots to discover the masonry company had switched the exhaust with the air intake. In spite of the fact that it was a cold snap (around 10F), Steve made the correction which involved indoor and outdoor work, and my fireplace works great now. The price was extremely fair for the benefit I gained of having a fireplace that I can use. THANK YOU, CHIMNEY DOCTORS! read more

Ryan McGonigal came by to give me an estimate on some repairs. Great guy, wealth of knowledge, trustworthy, etc. Quote and inspection written up, delivered and fully explained before he left. Great experience! read more

The technicians are thorough and efficient. Promptly respond to calls/concerns. They are transparent in their communication and zero in on what is needed. We trust their service and highly recommend Chimney Doctors. read more

We are very unhappy with Chimney Doctors. The tech that came out tried to sell us on an entire flue replacement, saying we shouldn't use the fireplace as is. He also had the gall to say "and I wouldn't trust anyone else to replace it." It's only two years old. Second opinions, including from the manufacturer, showed that the chimney is perfectly fine to use. One said that the recommendation not to use the fireplace was appalling. It feels like we were almost scammed. read more

I just had Tom out to inspect and sweep my fireplace and he was fantastic!!! He came early and was extremely thorough. As he was doing his thing he explained everything so well. Very poor experience. When we purchased our 1921 home, the fireplace flue needed relining and we selected chimney doctors. The owner at the time oversaw the job and commented that bricks had come loose during the install. We assumed this was part of the process until we had the chimney inspected a few years later. The inspector found a dangerous situation in that the bricks that had come loose were in the firebox, exposing the other gas exhaust flue. Essentially they made a hazardous situation worse. When we contacted chimney doctors, they came out promptly and confirmed the issue. They would address it, and then verbally quoted us a very high quote for the other work we needed, and then left. We never heard from them again and it's nearly 3 weeks later. At this point, I will pay for another company to perform the fix. Beware. read more

Zach and Taylor arrived promptly, both wearing masks. We have two fireplaces - one gas and one wood burning. They inspected both and found them in good condition albeit needing minor repairs. They are sourcing the parts for us. Both of them sat outside with my husband and I and explained everything in detail. They are personable young men with considerable knowledge and experience. Will definitely continue to use their service If needed. I would give them six stars if I could! Elinor J read more

Horrible! The chimney doctors condemned our chimney, saying it cant be used, we got a second opinion and it didn't even need repairs! We had it resurfaced just to be safe for a fraction of the cost of what they wanted. Our service told us they have had other calls about this company doing the same thing. Also they never came back to clean our dryer vent after we paid for it. Avoid the chimney doctors! read more

Thank you Zach for a job well done. They Showed up on time, cleaned chimney and did everything requested. Thanks!

My husband and I recently bought our first house. We asked my aunt and uncle who they use to get their chimney cleaned and they recommended Air Pro Inc. They told us that they got really good service and we were intrigued. Then they told us the chimney guy wears a top hat and we knew this was the company for us. Unfortunately, our technician didn't wear a top hat. I guess its just the owner that does that. Once I got over that initial disappointment, I had a very good experience. Cale was our tech. He showed up on time, and took the time to explain things and answer all my questions. I would definitely recommend them to my yelper friends who need a good chimney sweep. read more

I called on Thursday for a chimney cleaning estimate and had someone at my house at 10am on Friday. He arrived right on time, which is much appreciated! No "10-1 window" - we were told our appointment was at 10, and he arrived at 10 (if not a few minutes beforehand). He was nice, informative, and knowledgable. After a detailed inspection, we were given a rundown of future projects we may need to do (but we were not pushed to do them now). All around a great service. I will be calling Air Pro again. read more

Caveat Emptor. We're in the process of selling our house and asked for an inspection. Their employee showed 2 photos of a couple of mortar joints with unevenly troweled spots and called them gaps, a couple of hairline cracks in the clay liner that is typical of the material and could have occurred before the house was built 50 years ago, and one legitimate repair need within reach from the top of the chimney. Their solution: tear down the chimney and re-line both flues for $10K. And they're 6 weeks out for work so expect the price to go up if you need it done sooner. Recommend calling Nick's Chimney of Richfield instead. Deal with the owner directly and get treated fairly. read more
