Since then, Sparrow Plumbing has been my first call for any plumbing need. They've handled everything from installing plumbing for a new washer and dryer to repairing my home's main water line. Recently, I discovered my home had excessively high water pressure. Sparrow Plumbing came out quickly, installed a new pressure-reducing valve (PRV), adjusted the pressure to a safe 70 PSI, and even replaced my main water shutoff ball valve at no additional charge. It's that kind of service that keeps me coming back. Every experience has been the same: honest advice, fair pricing, prompt service, and exceptional workmanship. It's rare to find a contractor who consistently delivers this level of quality and professionalism. He came in and hauled the old one out and installed the new one and we haven't had any issues with it in the four months since the install. After researching on Home Advisor & seeing many positive reviews we decided to hire Sunflake Electrical to perform some basic electrical work around our home. · Main issues: o Exhaust Fan - installed but the hole was cut too large for the new fan. The electrician admitted to cutting a hole despite strategically purchasing the new fan based on existing opening size. o Kitchen Light - we did not purchase the correct light in advance & told the electrician not to proceed with installation. While at Home Depot getting other supplies he proceeded to install a non-approved light fixture, leaving us with an off centered light fixture. As the icing on the cake, we are also left with a jagged opening next to the off centered light fixture we did not choose. o Lastly, if the installation of other services would have gone smoothly, it would have also been easier to look past the mess we were left to clean up. · We shared the photos with the owner and he felt the electrical work had been done properly, and would be happy with the work in his own home. SEE PHOTOS. · We gave the owner multiple opportunities to "make this right" but his solution was for us to pay another one of his employees a flat rate of $250 to fix the two jagged holes. We are left with a jaded outlook on anyone coming to our home to complete repairs. Bottom line, avoid Sunflake Electrical! ADDITIONAL CONTEXT BASED ON OWNERS RESPONSE: Sunflake Owner: "Once the fan was completed, our electrician cleaned up the drop cloth that he had initially laid out and began cleaning the bathroom. The husband said he could clean the rest, so we proceeded to start the installation of the light." Response: Yes, the electrician laid a drop cloth on our bathroom floor that partially covered the floor (not the sink, vanity, toilet, etc.), and yes I offered to clean up the mess - the reason being, at this point the job had already taken longer than expected, and this was a matter of cost-savings. When replacing the kitchen light fixture, no drop cloth was used, and I was worried about all the debris falling into our garbage disposal, which luckily did not stop our garbage disposal from functioning properly. Sunflake Owner: "The customer asked to provide their own parts. We are totally fine with that at Sunflake." "If it had been a mistake on our part, we would have fixed the drywall no questions asked." Response: We are first time home owners, leaning on what we thought would be competent, trusted professionals to guide us in the right direction - not to receive an unfinished job and then be blamed for "our shortcomings." My wife ran to Home Depot mid-service to get additional parts for the duct work. The existing fan was already removed. She reviewed the previously purchased fan with the electrician at the start of the appointment but could have easily purchased another fan before installation. The light fixture installed was provided by Sunflake, because our two attempts to purchase something that work failed. My wife instructed the electrician to rehang the old fixture but he proceeded to install a light fixture he had on hand - which the owner also blames us for. Sunflake Owner: "Hopefully an intelligent consumer realizes the excellent value they received on this job and gives us a chance to earn their business." Response: The icing on the cake... not only does Sunflake Electrical perform an unfinished job, the owner then insults a paying customer by more or less calling us unintelligent. They charged her 30 dollars extra to clean a spot that needed extra attention. The guy didn't even put effort in to clean the spot in the living room, you can still see the spot the same as it was before he came out. The carpet after he left was so wet you could see puddles from your foot prints. They also advertise an offer of 10% off for seniors and he did not give her this even when she asked about it while he was writing up the invoice with her. Worst of all he opened her refrigerator without asking and tried to take a canned drink for himself and when my grandma said something about it and told him to get out of there he said "I need something to drink" and was rude about her not having a beverage for him after she offered him a glass of water and he said no to it. I know this was made for Friday because when I was on the phone making the appointment I remember them repeating back Thursday, saying "you mean Friday, right?" and them agreeing. I also told them we have 4 rooms to do and buy their 5 room package (one of our rooms is ~400 sq ft, and they cap a "room" as being 200 sq feet max, so that one counts as two). I mention we have a hallway connecting the rooms and they say they'll go ahead and do that too (two of our rooms are ~100 sq ft). I get called Wednesday and am told they'll be out on Thursday. I again say it was for Friday and am told they aren't available Friday. I'm not happy but agree since I just want to get this done. I get another call Thursday morning asking if we can move the appointment up to be sooner. We call back and leave a message saying we can do it after noon. I get called again an hour later and confirm we can do it between noon and 1pm. I'm told the cleaner will call ahead with the time they'll arrive. I get a call at 12:10pm from the cleaner asking me why I'm not home and that they've been waiting at my house for 10 minutes. There was no call telling me they were on their way or that they were going to arrive right at noon so I was running an errand. They sound very frustrated as though this was my fault for wasting their time. We have pets, and one of the main reasons for this cleaning to to take out pet and urine smells. Their website says they will deodorize your carpets and they list pet odor and urine stain removal as part of their service. When I arrive I find out the treatment for urine is an additional $0.36 sq. ft, which more than doubles the cost of the service. They do not list this or price this anywhere on their website, so I guess you only find out when they're already at your house. On top of that they charge an additional $15 for the hallway that I'd been told they'd just take care of, and the cleaner acts annoyed that I'm asking and trying to understand why the service has doubled in cost. They do pet odor and urine stain removal, but urine odor costs double, something that was mentioned by nobody and is not on their website anywhere. Their website explicitly states they have no extra or hidden fees. Not my experience. I received a call a few hours after asking how things went. The moment I started telling them the issues I had their tone changed and they couldn't get off the call fast enough. I would not recommend this company.
