    Regular Organic Tofu Bowl
    Aaditya S.

I agree to the other reviews on this Flame Broiler's Yelp Page. I just won't come back. My rule is simple, if you are the owner and you become rude to your customers for something so simple as asking for sauces, then in my books you are petty and stingy. I paid 32.75 for three organic tofu bowls. This young guy who claimed himself to be the owner today when I went to this branch of flame broiler I have a message for you: "if you run a restaurant or a fast food joint, learn your customer service basics. If I asked you for sauces and you gave me the evil eye and told me that I cannot give you more cause I already gave you more and is against the store policy (which you gave me exactly 15 of those tiny little sauce cups) Then number 1: show me the damn policy, number 2: tell me before I ask you for sauces that hey I can give you this much but after that unfortunately I have to charge you. Just be NICE! Correct! But why would you! You wanted to be a big good guy and didn't wanted to charge, but when I asked for more you become rude! So tell me from the get go that there is a charge after a certain limit, so as a customer I know. But No! You had to be rude about it. If you had informed me nicely like a nice person would do I would have gladly paid you your $0.50 cents a cup. Just to put it in perspective, even if I open those small little sauce cups (which is not even filled to the max) and I put them in a bowl, it won't even make a dent, and that's how much of the sauces you gave me when I asked you today. Before this owner there was another gentlemen who was super nice and never had a bad experience with him. You can even check my previous review. But man I came back after ages to eat at this location and this is what I had to go through. The reason for the owner being rude was after asking for sauces, I asked him for some Jalapeños which was free at one point in time, at that he snapped. And again we were three of us. So our request for sauces were more. Again who cares if I had to pay for this extra sauces! Just inform me nicely. I paid almost $32 which you made profit of, so why would I care to pay you another $5 for those damn sauces if I had to. But the issue was you became rude to me and you become stingy bout those little tiny cup of sauces that you give to your clients. So don't ever think that you did an obligation on my soul by giving me those little stingy sauce cups for free. Never coming back here

Always a quick, easy and go to lunch! Inside was quiet but very clean. Staff was nice and got the food out fresh even though it was busy and lunch time.

    Veggies are standard

So disappointed in this location! It used to be the only location I would go to or recommend. I order a regular chicken bowl and a well done extra cut chicken bowl for the past 3x i get home there are no veggies in the bowls and the chicken is not well cooked or cut... calling the store is no use every time its the lady who calls herself the manager Kelly Yam (when you call to complain she will use the name Tammy) has the worst customer service i have ever experienced!! My loyalty to this location is over! The quality overall is just going down hill.

Went in for lunch yesterday. It was my first time trying this Resturant. The guy behind the counter can't remember his name was helpful and polite. The wait wasn't long and the food was excellent! And to top it off they have my favorite soda. Would definitely recommend and will come back for more lunch while I'm at work

The banchan was delicious and had a nice variety, including radish stem kimchi, cucumber kimchi, fish cakes, soybean paste with nuts, fried eggplant, and more. Everything tasted fresh and well made. We started with the fried dumplings, which were crispy on the outside and filled with really tasty filling. The soybean stew was packed with flavor and had potatoes, onions, and zucchini--super comforting. The short ribs were juicy and flavorful, especially with a side of rice. The pork cutlet was perfectly crispy, and the dipping sauce added just the right touch of sweetness. Even the salad was good, with a dressing that wasn't too overpowering. They serve hot barley tea and water, and you can buy canned soft drinks if you want something else. Everything we had was delicious--honestly, there wasn't anything I didn't like. Prices were fair, and the customer service was great. Our waitress checked on us several times to make sure we were good and even showed us how to make rice porridge using the hot barley tea and the crispy rice at the bottom of the pot, which ended up being really good too. The inside of the restaurant is very clean, well-lit, and has lots of natural color (tans, brown). It appears to have been recently remodeled. There is plenty of seating and open space. This restaurant is great for groups of all sizes. We'll definitely be back to try more items.

I am used to soon tofu soup having multiple levels of spiciness. Also no raw egg is offered without the soup, this I also found odd. Also, banchan was very disappointing. This is what makes the meal for me. Kimchi was not fermented enough and was a pale orange color, fishcake was not offered without you asking, there were no cucumbers, scallion pancake, seasoned bean sprouts, potatoes, or noodles. The flounder offered was very tasty but again, offered at the end of the meal when we were wrapping up. I'm used to this being offered at the beginning or during meal. I think I would only go back if they ramped up their banchan but I did ask, and they said they won't really rotate their banchan :( staff was very attentive but the food will make or break it for me. Hoping I can retry in the future once they're more established.

Don't want to be sweating while you're eating. Coming from highland/redlands, I am happy that there is a ayce kbbq spot in close proximity. Starting with cons: the parking is absolutely terrible. Parking spots are cramped and there's simple not enough spaces, especially during peak times. Pros: now as a long time ayce bbq lover, I understand that red castle quality is not top tier and I don't expect it to be when I go. I view red castle as an affordable joint to get my brisket and beef belly fix, which are the only two items that I basically get. It's odd reading about others experience with service, because every time I go, the service is always fast. I don't need to ask for the grill change because they are fully staffed and consistently checking in. Sure, the hospitality could improve a little but realize what you're going in there for. To stuff ya face! If you're coming here and comparing this place to other kbbq joints, you'll surely be let down. But to enjoy ayce protein for ~25 bucks without having to clean and prep a solid meal, many would realize the true gem that is Red Castle. I remember when their ayce was 13-15 bucks when they opened. Those were the days. I'm also glad that they allow single dining during the week. Not something that I'm able to take advantage of most of the time bc of work but I'm glad it's offered. To all the kbbq snobs (I'm one of them still). Go pay 40 for ayce somewhere else and be happy. Red castle is my go to for a quick fix that is close to home and affordable.

I do think the added $4 for a scoop of gochujang-looking paste was a bit egregious to make my broth spicy though. The brisket was also on the tougher side compared to KBBQ, possibly due to thicker cuts of meat. Overall, I liked the Mokkoji experience and pricing was fairly reasonable. I opted for sukiyaki, which was really flavorful and had that perfect balance of salty sweetness. I ordered the marinated brisket. The regular size is definitely enough, come here on an empty stomach. I split some drunken chicken wings with my table, which were the star of the show. So crispy, and the sweet marinade with the fried garlic was to die for. We drizzled the remaining marinade in the pan over our rice/meat once we were done digging into the wings. Each dish comes with ponzu sauce and sesame sauce, I love. I ended up spilling some on my light pink clothes, which I was devastated about. Definitely dress accordingly if you come here. The service was okay, they were good about clearing out our dishes once we had finished putting in our veggies/meat but the broth ran low a few times and the fire ran out for my friends' burner ovens so this had to be raised twice to the servers. Overall ambiance is a little worn down, I noted that the AC system wires were out and paint was peeling on the table. The exterior also is shuttered off, giving it a mildly unfriendly look. The price is reasonable and not too extravagant for shabu shabu, but I would definitely keep that in mind if you're someone who prefers a more elevated experience. I also noted that they'll be opening a new location in North San Jose/Milpitas soon, so I'm excited for them to continue expanding near my hometown.
