Highway ROBBERY I payed for the $50 "ultimate" car wash and they literally robbed me. They MAYBE hosed down the outside of my car. So there is a long line of cars but it goes really quick. Their secret - they don't clean the cars! The machine does the exterior fine but don't bother paying for an interior clean because they don't do it! What a waste of money. Do not trust the positive reviews! There is nothing positive about the Flagship service. My mom, who is not familiar with the area, wanted to do something kind for me and took my car for cleaning. I advised her not to go to Flagship, but as this company has a monopoly in the area, she ended up at the Van Ness location. She paid a ridiculous sum for a service inclusive of an interior vacuum (which, by the way, used to be part of the basic offering) and was appalled by the result. She complained, and the manager redid the work himself. She observed another customer complaining as well. I have reviewed Flagship in the past. Poor work, exploitative prices. I've been a monthly member of this car wash for over 6 years. On 12/30/25 I was at this location and getting my car washed. Normally they wait until the car passes through the dryer and they have a couple people designated to drive the cars out of the wash and into the hand dry area. However, this time, they stopped the car wash and my car was located prior to entering the dryer. A guy i've never seen before entered my car. Big mistake. My particular car is an EV and when you open the door it shuts off the battery and puts the car in park. Well, they restarted the car wash and the person in my car didn't know how to get it out of park. So my car started jumping the rollers and bouncing up and down inside the wash. He finally had to manually drive the car down the track and did so very fast. Of course I freaked out he was going to damage my car and told the cashier who was the person who restarted the wash line. She tried to tell me that is now what happened and tried to provide her explainattion. I tried to inform her what my car does when you open the door. This turned into a shouting match in front of everyone. I confronted the kid driving my car and suggested he not drive cars he doesn't know how to operate. He told me he couldn't get it out of park. Like I just said. For the past 11 days i've been informed by online customer service that the wash manager would call me. After 8 emails back and forth, ZERO contact. I'm done with this company. Flagship Carwash on Connecticut does a good quick job, canvassing most of the big cleaning priorities at a cost that I find more than reasonable at $59.99/mo and I have the unlimited wash plan. Prior to taking the car in, I always clean out the car of things in the trunk and seats, so that they can actually do a good, thorough cleaning without impediments. Much like when the house cleaners come to do a clean, I really try to put things away and enable them to see all of the cleaning surfaces that need to get done versus forcing them to be organizers and THEN clean. Flagship sends the car through the line where it does an exterior wash cycle (this is a general clean- meaning that if there's much caked on from non-regular washes, it's going to be hard to get that off without a detailed scrubbing). The car then goes to the end of the line where a team of 5-7 crew members open up all of the doors and wash the mats, do the windows, get the tires and put a protectant on it, clean the dash and surfaces, etc. VERY quickly! Always polite and they thank me and wish me a good day. There is a tip box which we always use to thank the staff. The only thing I'd recommend that they do is to actually dry off the mud mats before placing back into the car so that it's not all wet. I try to upkeep the car on a regular basis by going every other week at the least, or at least once a month if my schedule is packed. I've paid for it, after all! It keeps the undercarriage of the car clean, which is also something that I know I would not be able to do even if I washed my own car. In winters, it's especially important to keep the components clean and taking care of the car means it can take care of me! read more

I had a Dr appt this Am right down the street from Flagship and decided to get an impromptu car wash. I'm glad I did! Despite the line of cars, I was in and out in 20 minutes - I got the basic $17 wash and vacuum. There is a tip box for cash - and I'm sorry to say I haven't carried cash for over four years. Apparently the District Manager needs to approve setting up a Venmo or other cashless account for tips. I hope he reads this and takes action-- I understand why cash is best for the staff but in this day and age, they are liking losing out on countless tips! They do an OK job. I am dealing with a disabling illness and cannot clean my car. It is quick and better than I can do. I have seen places do a more thorough job. If one of them was closer to my house I would never have kept going to flagshop. As for the membership. I was talked into a membership at the cost of 1 wash a month, that allowed as many monthly as I want. Part of it is they told me several times that price was locked in. Sure enough after a madder of months it went up immensely, and I was out a lot before I realized it. I was than told it was a promotional deal, and that was not the normal cost of a membership. It is one thing to forget to mention they gave me a promotional price but they went out of their way to say it was a set price when it wasn't. Never using them again. read more

The fact that this business is getting two stars is based solely on the fact that they have good workers. Their management and how these workers are instructed is trash. as I am typing this, the line is so far down the street away from the business that it is ridiculous. The members only line is the reason why the wait is so long. no one who is a member can go through the nonmember line. if you start from outside of the location, it may be up to 40 minutes before you get your car washed IF YOU ARE A MEMBER!!! The last time I had my car washed here, they didn't vacuum the inside at all. They have also push you to join their membership club. They essentially have a monopoly on this area of DC and offer poor-quality washes, service, and pricing. They also don't honor their hours so call before you visit, especially on a rainy day - edit, it was an on-and-off light drizzle - I understand they can't dry cars off in a rain storm but that wasn't the weather today and also I was there for a wash, not a dry. Today I got there around 10:45 and they were closed despite their sign proclaiming they open around 8. I checked on line and google indicated they opened today at noon - I figured because of the rain. I parked in the back and noticed that they had the back door open and people were around so I decided to come back in a bit. Got back at 11:50 and waited for them to open at 12. At 12:05 I called to make sure they were going to open but got a recorded message. Called again at 12:15, same recorded message. Walked around to the back and all the doors were closed again and no one appeared to be around. Complete waste of time, but that's what can happen to companies with a monopoly. read more

Each time I call, I wait ~10 minutes for the "next available agent", which is always a nice-sounding woman who takes my information, asks me when I want the service, then says someone from "scheduling" will call me back. I took my car through the car wash on Tuesday, July 29th at which point my car suffered damage to the passenger side mirror. I immediately filed a report with the manager on duty who said he immediately submitted the claim and was told that someone would reach out to me within 5 business days. As of the date of the submission of this complaint, no one from Flagship has attempted to reach out to me in any form to let me know they are aware of the issue and is working on it. I have visited the location where the incident took place and one of the workers admitted to me the last person who experienced a similar issue such as myself it took them about a month before anyone contacted them and threatened legal action. What's sad is the car wash did such a good job cleaning the car that I was considering signing up for their membership because the car looked like it had been hand washed but considering the way I've been treated, I know joining their membership would be a mistake. read more
