I have used them twice before and they do a decent job cleaning. They are overpriced in comparison to other car detailing providers, the worst part is that they always try to up charge you once you get there if you have already bought a package from their website. They did a great job and working with them was very easy! First, they pick the phone up when you call - a surprisingly rare trait these days. I was running late for my appointment and they were very willing to accommodate and still take me. Most important, the work was well done. I've got matte paint, so it was really important for me to find someone who could do a thorough hand wash. They didn't disappoint in the least bit. The exterior wash was excellent and the interior detailing made the car look and feel brand new. Definitely would go back. read more

Extreme Detail: The Best AND Worse (Oct 3) Detail Experience (Updated Oct 13) 2 stars - Excellent cloth seat cleaning. +1 star - Decent conversation w/owner to resolve remaining issues -1 star - Radio is now malfunctioning -1 star - 2 Window controls broken I need to post more (DIY kinda guy/10yr Army vet), but I will after my "Extreme" experience. For bad AND good service (I don't like only whiners either lol) but hopefully, this ends well. Stay tuned. First, I'll say they did a !GREAT! job cleaning my interior. The seats were bad, and I'm still pleased. But that's all I initially wanted for $140. After the upsell attempts on the phone and onsite, I went with the Deluxe Detail ($200 for Hyundai Elantra/4Dr) plus $125 for the extra dirty interior. Second, I bought this car off the lot in 2011, it's always been mine, and I know eh-very-thing about it, and the ONLY problem with my car was a "loose" button for the passenger window (that I made sure I informed them of, and THEY SAID WOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM). Third, I took before pics to promote whatever business did the detail (which I'll still show), but it looks like it's also proof of damages now... ****SPOILER start**** After the "detail" and letting the seats dry for two days, MY RADIO DOES NOT WORK! Whatever setting is used (radio, CD, PHONECALLS!! or SiriusXM) the system changes to AUX by itself every 15sec-15min, then it has to be manually changed. Then it does it again...over, and over, and over. It got to be so annoying, I just turned it off. THEN it turns itself on and changes between options again!! UNACCEPTABLE. *But wait! There's more!* That slightly loose front passenger window button was apparently broken off/jammed back into place and now doesn't work. The REAR passenger window button which NEVER had a problem is stuck, like there's a pebble under the button preventing it from lowering the window. It can barely be pulled back, but the window's already raised. This is just shoddy work (except for the seat cleaning)...ESPECIALLY for a $325 detail. ****Spoiler end**** Like most vets, I like my things relatively clean and working well, so car detailings each Spring and Fall is a norm for me. Having to share my car with a s.o. that gave zero effs about car maintenance (inside/outside/mechanical) had me relenting to the cream cloth seats getting pretty bad over the last few yrs plus "our" horrible finance mgmt made things worse. I got the car back this Spring (paid off now too...whoo-whee!), and took care of the overdue engine/suspension work (from Jun-Sept) first, then shopped around and settled on Extreme for the detail since I could drop it off and tour the missed parts of DC while she got her "Extreme" makeover. After the upsell onsite, I asked if the driver's window button for the front passenger window being a little loose is a problem (explaining that some light playing gets the window working). I was assured it wasn't. I was told the work would take from 10:30-6PM. From Bethesda to Ballston to U Street to the Mall, I got it all in and my legs got a workout! Extreme calls @ 5:50 telling me my car wouldn't be ready until 7 PM. Plenty tired, but eager for a clean car, I said, "Sure, no problem", and schlepped around until a little after 7. The seats were almost as clean as when I bought it in 2012!!! AMAZING! With me being so tired, being in a darkened garage, having at least 30 details with various vehicles (mine and gifts) under my belt, and the seats looking so damn good, I was satisfied. Seats still damp, I was told the seats should be fully dry in 1-2 days. Cool. I leave in the sun for the next 1-2 days w/carbon bags take out humidity/scent. After the 4pm NFL game, the seats dry! Stuff back in, looks good, smells good!! Going to pick up my son, the driver's passenger window buttons are screwed. AND the radio's acting funny. I've NEVER had issues like this after a detail. Normally, the car's just been cleaned and I move on with other stuff. UNACCEPTABLE. I'd only recommend a basic interior/exterior for now. It's 12 Oct, and I'll be taking it back for them to resolve these issues and I'll post an update. Update: Spoke with owner about all issues and we're working to get them resolved next week. I was upset about my car's condition; he had a problem with me not coming to him first, but I think we understand each other's viewpoint. Edited my review and added a star. read more

Leo took care of me when I brought my car here. I found this establishment on yelp and was able to use the 10% coupon. I got the mini detail which ended up coming out to $126 for a bmw suv (mini suv), which I think is a GREAT deal because I had so many crumbs under the seat which was my main concern. I also had so much bird poop on my and it was disgusting. They are located in the parking area where target is located and it took 2 hours for them to clean it. During this time I chilled at one of the many coffee places nearby. The car smells and looks completely brand new again. I will make this my regular go to car wash place. Wow these guys are good! I had just driven my car across the country from California and it really needed a serious wash and some detailing inside. While we kept the car interior relatively clean during our drive, there were still snacks, crumbs and dirt from our boots that I didn't want to deal with. The outside of the car had a thousand squished bugs on it that a cheap car wash wouldn't have taken care of. I chose extreme detail based on their great reviews and I'm so glad I did! They have several guys working who are all really putting in the elbow grease to power wash, buff, vacuum and detail the cars. It was clear they work hard and pay attention to detail. My car looked sparkling and legitimately brand new when I picked it up. Well worth the money -- I will be using them again. Protip for finding them: they're in the Bed Bath & Beyond / Target parking garage on the P2 second level in the back left corner. If I could give Extreme Detail 10 stars I would. My wife owns a compact car that has only ever been washed and never detailed since it was bought in 2012. Of course, over the years, there have been spills and stains. The most recently being water that was spilled and eventually dried, leaving a disgusting stain. My wife hired a car detailing service that came to our home and they were awful - a true waste of money (I'll leave that for another Yelp review). Needless to say the car still needed to be clean and so naturally, I went on Yelp and found Extreme Detail. I called the morning of and was able to bring the car in on the same day (I was already impressed). Finding the place can be a bit challenging and frustrating because of where they are located. *You have to go on Park Rd NW and park in the parking garage for the shopping area, get a parking ticket, and go to the lower level of the parking garage where Target signs are posted.* There are a few signs for Extreme Detail, but you have to pay attention to see them. After finally finding them and being over 30 minutes late (one way streets are not our friends), Leo greeted us with a smile and kindness. I showed him the specific areas in the car that needed the most work and he told me they would do their best and walked be through the process. They said they would be done with the car in about 4 hours (around 6:00 pm). I spent my time in Target and Marshalls while they worked on the car. Around 5:30 pm Leo gave me a call to tell me that the car was ready (more points for being done early). However, he also told me that the seats had to be washed twice due to the tough stains and the seats were wait. We had two options: 1. take the car with the wet seats and possibly have a humid smell (no thanks) or 2. leave the car with them so they can run their fans throughout the night and pick it up in the morning. We decided to leave the car and Leo was nice enough to validate the ticket (more points)! The car was picked up the next morning and I cannot believe how good it looks. It seriously looks better than when it was bought. Being honest, I was skeptical but I am now a true believer and supporter of Extreme Detail. Leo and his team got out the stubborn stains, cleaned every crevice, polished the rims, etc. The total for the the full interior and exterior was $110.00 w/out the generous tip we left. This was a promotional offer and is usually more. If you decide on a promotional offer, the 10% check-in with Yelp cannot be combined - decide wisely. This place is the real deal. The team is hard working, pay attention to detail, and know true customer service. I can't wait to take the car back to Extreme Detail! read more

This is my second time using this hand wash service, it's near my home and convenient. First time was great even tho they performed an up-charged service I didn't request, this time not so much. Someone on this staff is a thief and tried to steal a USB iPhone charger from me. I purposely removed it from its port and put it into my dash console and closed it. Yet and still they tried to steal. I helped them look for it and this person returned it after finding it on the driver side floor--where I just so happened to be searching. So future advice if you use this service, hide ya wife hide ya kids they'll steal from your car. I also tipped them too! I didn't ask for it back, but I'll never come back! read more

I typically have my car professionally detailed one time / year. I purchased the Exotic Detail for $100 hoping to have the interior of my car looking better, but they went above and beyond. My car feels brand new - not a crumb in site. My rims and cup holders have never been this clean, not a speck of dust on my dashboard, my floors look perfect. Literally, every surface of my car was cleaned, and the outside is super shiny as well. I dropped off my car at 4PM and picked it up by 7PM. I researched a couple of auto detail places in DC and Extreme Detail was the closest/most convenient to me and had most competitive prices. I usually don't get my car cleaned other than the complimentary vacuum during my check ups but after a few long distance road trips and actually feeling gross in my own car I knew it was time to invest in a detail. I got the full interior detail combo (#4 & #9) with exterior wash and the improvement was like night and day. It was my first detail so there was 7 years worth of build up they made disappear. I was shocked they were even able to get bike chain grease off my fabric seats. I feel crappy I didn't have more cash to tip them better but I hope this 5 star review will bring them more business! Now that I know how great it feels to have a clean car I'll prob work a wash and/or interior clean into my monthly routine now. read more

I highly recommend them! They definitely are a team of hard working men who make you feel good about every penny spent! Also on the plus side you can go shopping while getting your car done. This was the best detail I have ever received. The location is very convenient as I live in Columbia Heights/Mount Pleasant. I like how the space is indoors and I felt secure leaving my car inside the garage all day, however my one complaint with the garage location is that you have to pay to get out which is an additional charge on top of the auto detailing service. My car was immaculate when I picked it up. It cleaned just as well on the outside as it was on the inside. I appreciate the attention to detail and Extreme Detail going above and beyond. This company did a great job putting ceramic on my car and also provided me proof of licensing when I requested it. My reason for 4-stars is solely because of the initial lack of acknowledgment or attempts to understand when I reached out the first day they had the vehicle to tell them that the battery was dying and the car was sending me messages letting me know the key fob and remote access to vehicle data was about to to end to try and preserve what little was left of the battery. After multiple phone messages and frantic emails sent to the owner, I finally got a call back about an hour later. The owner insisted they handled brand new cars every day and he had been in business for a number of years doing this as if that completely negated the messages I was receiving. When we ended the call he followed by texting me photos of my odometer to show me the car was fine, completely disregarding any of what I was telling him. I then emailed him screenshots of the actual critical messages coming from the car showing that the doors had been open for four hours and it was about to die. I imagine with these new cars having a door open for four hours with all of the internal lights on and the regular messages the car sends out to the phone app, it drains a battery quicker than older cars that don't have all of that functionality. At any rate, I never heard back from the owner and got a call from an employee the next day asking me when the screenshots were taken. He also informed me they were in the process of charging the battery. Nice to know but that should've all occurred the day I called them AND texted AND emailed to tell them this problem was happening. At the end of the day the four stars is because the ceramic coating was put on, the car was completely charged and drove just fine when I picked it up three days later. Better understanding and acknowledgment when I reached out would've made it five stars. read more

Extreme Detail did an AMAZING job on our car. They made our trusty old 2006 Honda look like it came right off the factory line. Quite frankly, we had put off getting our car detailed for years because as the dust gathered, so did our shame. But these guys took care of our car with an eagerness and earnestness, without any judgment. We got the Deluxe Detail, but based on how amazing the car looks, it seems like we were given premium treatment. The detail service took a little longer than estimated--we were told it would take 3.5 hours but it took 5.5 hours. But honestly that's on us because I am pretty sure our car was dirtier than anticipated, so we didn't mind the extra wait, especially given how clean the car was. We will definitely be using them again, especially because we learned that they have a mobile service that will come to us--no access to water, electricity, or anything needed! read more

These guys are just great. My work offers parking in DCUSA and I often ask them to wash my car while I'm at work. They take instructions on how to wash my car to the point and my car is always spotless when I get it back. One time, I was running late out of work and I was not going to make it in time to get my keys back from them before they close. I called and the guy offered to hide my keys in my car and let me pay for the car wash later! I made it just in time though and I thanked them for the offer. Got the custom wash. A little pricey--$35, but they were running a $25 promotion when I went in-- but it's a significantly better value than the standard car wash I got from Flagship in D.C. He offered to do-over the interior of my car, which I politely declined, though he insisted that if I wanted a re-do I could come by to get one. He even offered to pay for my parking while my car is getting worked on! Haha, that was more an FYI than a complaint. Because he was gracious I told him I would update my review to reflect his call. Also, they did a good job cleaning the air ducts on my dashboard. *********************************************************** After researching several options, I decided to go with Extreme Detail--not only was it the most reasonably priced, it also allowed me to run errands at the nearby big box stores while my car was being cleaned. I only wanted an interior cleaning, and at $50 for a "mini-detail" for my small SUV, this place was half the price of the nearest competitor ($95). Using the word "detail" is a bit of a stretch. I would say it was more a (mostly) thorough vacuum and wipe down. Firstly, the business is located on the second level of an underground parking garage. I asked the detailer how he could even see inside the car he was cleaning--it is SO dark down there! He quoted me an hour, and after returning an hour and a half later I inspected the car. Sure, it was cleaner than it was before, but the front cup holder still had a coffee stain in it, which I easily wiped myself with a nearby rag. And the center console had a rather large mound of waxy goop on it still... I asked the gentleman to help me scrape it off, and he vacuumed up the shavings. Additionally, every time I touch my steering wheel, my hands are left with an oily film, like after rubbing a liquid serum through my hair. I really hate that. It was difficult to see the results in the basement, so I went home and took another look at the job in the light of day. I'm not sure they cleaned the shoulders of the seats, because I found lint and dirt on them. And the trunk has dirt in it still (see photos). I concede that I have a 15-year-old car, with 15 years of dust and dirt trapped in its crevices... but c'mon, a car wipe down and vacuum is not a detail, however "mini"!!! To be fair, I appreciated that they lifted the seats of my SUV to vacuum the dirt underneath. They also vacuumed under the drivers and passengers seats. But this business in no way brought my car "back to life," as the website claims. I have received similar results at a hand car-wash in northeast DC for $20 (and that includes the exterior of the car!!) I would have happily paid $95 to get that "new car" clean everyone claims you get from a detail, instead of paying $50 for half the quality. They did a fantastic job on our super dirty car. We got the full interior and exterior detail that was $190 and it was worth every penny. We just got back from a long roadtrip with a toddler and a dog so there was a lot to clean on the interior of the car. I can't believe they were able to get so much dog hair out. They also removed stains that had been on the upholstery for a long time. The car seriously has not been this clean since we bought it.. We have had it detailed (for more money) at other places before and it was nowhere near this clean. Their attention to detail is exemplary. I highly recommend these guys! The full detail took about 5 hours. They are located in the Target parking garage and we live across the street so it was easy for us to leave the car there all day. Otherwise, there are plenty of shops and restaurants in the area to keep you busy while you wait. It's well worth it. read more

I hadn't washed my car in probably about a year and the interior had never been detailed since I bought the car in 2011, so I purchased package #13, extreme detail. It was very easy to drop the car off and then walk to the nearby shops to pass the time. It took them about 4-5 hours and I almost didn't recognize my car when I came back. He took a lot care in trying to clean every nook and cranny of my car. I hadn't seen my car shine like that since I bought it from the dealer. Extreme Detail did an incredible job on my 13-year old Jetta with significant interior issues. The car has been sitting idle and outdoors for the better part of 2 years and has had a worsening interior moisture issue resulting in mildewed fabric/surfaces and wet floor mats and carpet. Extreme Detail steam cleaned and polished everything, and it was like I was sitting in a new car! OK, not quite... they're not magicians... but it was close. The only reasons I'm not giving 5 stars are that (1) they were not as careful as they needed to be with cleaning the ceiling fabric and now it's detached in several places and I have to get someone to reattach it (the spray adhesive I tried didn't work), and (2) there was no notice that I'd have to pay for parking in the lot where they do the service. read more

Overall, I was happy with the service I received. They did a fantastic job cleaning my car. I am a former smoker, and the fact that they were able to get all the smoke smell out of the upholstery is impressive. Shortly after I had my car detailed here, I even had a passenger comment that my car smelled brand new (it's a 2009). Definitely recommend them. One complaint, however, is that they had me drop my car off for most of the day. Even though I know it didn't take them the whole 6 hours to clean my car, I had to pay for parking in the garage for that entire time since that's where they are located. It would be nice if they would validate the parking if they need to keep your car there the whole day. I'll definitely ask for that next time! read more
