If I help another person avoid the disaster that my partner and I experienced, then I will consider this an appropriate public service. I cannot quite put into words the turmoil we experienced with FixTMan, and the abject dismissal of our concerns we experienced with their company. The brief recommendation I can provide is - if you can find another highly rated specialized technician for the job you need taken care of, go with them (instead of FixTMan). If you can't, and as long as it is only one specific job you need done, then maybe hiring FixTMan is worth the risk. Here is what FixTMan does well: -Clear, consistent, and frequent communication prior to, and during, your scheduled appointment -Repeated requests to get you officially onto their schedule with a formal appointment -Our technician was skilled in the assembly and installation of ceiling fans (minus a wire that we recently discovered sticking out), but the other tasks we hired for...well, see below Here is what FixTMan does poorly: -Be wary of hiring FixTMan for multiple jobs. Their technicians do not necessarily have expertise in every type of "handyman" job - look for specialists for your various requests instead (this is more work with more appointments but hopefully it helps avoid FixTMan ruining your vision for your home) -For large jobs, FixTMan can and will lie to you about the number of technicians they will send for the job. They will then request you speak to their Quality Control department when you uncover the lie, Quality Control will then tell you the technician gets to decide whether or not to bring an assistant, and will try not to acknowledge that they lied to you -The warranty they tout as part of their quality guarantee does not actually provide real coverage - they can and will start to ignore you via messaging apps when you try to bring up your concerns  - FixTMan's technician installed the wrong cabinet pulls in the wrong area, despite clear labels my partner created for the technician on which cabinet pulls go in which area *and* despite being specifically instructed by my partner on the differences between the areas and the cabinet pulls. When we took this concern to Quality Control, they immediately informed us the cabinets (brand new, in a new home) would not be replaced, but instead they would try to seal the holes in the drawers/cabinets - we know from experience these type of seals are always visible and anything short of replacement for a mistake their technician made would be inappropriate - they repeatedly stated their "warranty" would not cover that -Quality Control made our situation with our technician (related to the concerns and issues documented above) worse by reducing the price of our job but then informing the technician who was still in our house that he would be paid less - this was very uncomfortable and clearly the technician was deeply offended by the price reduction. The Quality Control department of FixTMan handled the whole situation terribly (and I must say the price reduction they offered came nowhere near compensating for the permanent damage done to our planned design/layout of cabinet pulls in our home) -After the technician left, we discovered that there was a wire sticking out from one of the ceiling fan installations, and FixTMan refused to honor their 30 day warranty, and as noted above, refused to send out a QC technician (which they previously promised), instead ignoring our pleas for help and assistance - as an aside, after involving a third party, FixTman finally tried to respond, but at that point, their reliability and lack of commitment to customer service was clear and I opted not to re-engage in communication with them read more

This is a scam!! These guys are dishonest and expensive middleman who will underestimate the scope of your project, even after you provide them with all the details, quote a reasonable amount, only to charge an exorbitant price after the work is done. They have trained their contracted workers to show attitude and demand additional money after the work is done. Please reconsider before even thinking about this service. I listed in the work order that the promotional artwork was posterboard and Styrofoam material. The tech who showed up did not have any of their own tools or products to work with. He continued to say he doesn't know how to hang the pictures since they were not framed. This is where he should have stopped and left or went to a hardware store and purchase the materials he is being paid to use. Instead he asked an employee for bulletin board push pins and punctured the artwork. When I was told this information I text FixTman immediately while this was happening with no response and provided the picture attached. However, they were quick to send their invoice. When I let them know that this is house a teenage child hangs posters in their bedroom, they reviewed with their tech. Now it is a matter of he said, she said and no resolution to their horrific work and ruined promotional material. They offered a pathetic 10% discount ($9). Our employees will have to go back and fix all of this work, which should have been completed appropriately by "professionals" to begin with. I originally had this company mount a cabinet and the guy did a great job on the cabinet. He asked would I like my TVs and I said my living room while he was here so we worked to get this service added. I informed him to be careful taking off the base and these newer televisions can be super sensitive. Before he entered my home, my television worked perfectly fine because I was watching it. After he mounted my television it now has a crack and the company wants to take no responsibility for it. Why on earth if the tv was broken would I request to pay for mounting? This television was perfectly fine before he mounted it. It was clearly mishandled during the mounting process. Therefore, if they don't want to take responsibility, we will have to get this resolved in court. Sad that I have to go out and pay hundreds for a new tv on their error. Response! Charles you are a liar! Never once did I say this television already had a crack. These type of televisions if they have a crack they won't work. So once again why would I ask to install and pay for a mounting service if it was already broken. And I'm not paying for anything if you fail to take accountability for my tv. read more

BEWARE. I booked and received confirmation of an appointment to have a piece of art hung in my home. An hour before the scheduled appointment Knick called me and asked for a few more details and asked if I could move the appointment to another day; we agreed on a day and time. An hour later she called again to say that all technicians were "on leave" and she couldn't get anyone for 4-days. I complained to her and an hour later I received a text from "management" asking if this was a good time to call me. I was having dinner and gave him a time to call me, instead of speaking with me he chickened out and left me a voice mail anyway. Here's what he had to say... we don't service your zip code. Really, then why on Google Search did your company name pop up as a resource for this area. I called a local art gallery and they sent someone over to take care of the job. My suggestion, call a reputable store with the product you want hung/put together, etc; they will send someone you can count on. just heard back from the company, and in reading the complaints,....isn't it funny how they don't accept responsibility for any of their actions. I am updating my original post as FixTman did try their best to rectify the situation. They rescheduled my appointment and got the job done. The job was done well also. I do like that they are concerned with improving their customer's experience and they apologized for the mix up. No business is perfect, but how they handle their mistakes really speaks to the character of the business. However, I cannot give them more than 3 stars as they gave us a time frame of 5:30-7:30pm to complete the job, but they didn't get there until after 8:30pm. To be fair, it was raining that day and they did call to see if the job could still be done, but I had to call several times to inquire on the status of the technician and when I had called the technician around 7:30pm, they hadn't even left where they were yet! We had to wait an additional hour and it really disrupted our schedule that day. Although the work was good, I don't think I will work with them again due to the obvious disconnect they have in their communication internally and externally to their customers. This is just my opinion and my experience. I hope others have a better one and I wish the best for FixTMan. read more
