Mike from MNM Handyman Services could not have been more helpful when I really needed it…read more Completely went above & beyond, and saved me a lot of money on electrical work. For a little backstory: When some DIY electrical work replacing a ceiling light fixture went wrong, I was stuck without power in my kitchen, living room, or bathroom. I started calling electricians, handy-man services, Home Depot, and anyone else I could get on the line. Mike from MNM Handyman Services was the only person who took the time to listen to me over the phone, and immediately offered some safety tips that allowed me to at least restore power in the rest of my apartment without worrying about electrocuting myself. The very same day, he arrived at my door and took care of the problem. Turns out we were dealing with some pretty ancient wiring, so it wasn't the standard Black/White/Ground situation to connect the fixture. Mike quickly figured out exactly what needed to be done, and explained everything he was doing every step of the way (but of course reminded me never to do it myself unless I know what I'm doing... safety first). Would call 10/10 times for electrical work, or anything else that I can't figure out myself, because I know Mike would make sure it gets done RIGHT. Happy to say I found a friendly, professional, and skilled handyman... a great resolution to what was shaping up to be a disastrous day.

I wholeheartedly recommend All Solutions Home Services. Michael and Tom are terrific. They seem to…read moreknow how to do almost anything! The great variety of jobs they did for me were done quickly, thoughtfully and expertly. They were recommended to me by a friend to do a variety of time sensitive jobs at the end of a major renovation of our tenant unit in our two family in Watertown. Their jobs included tiling of a newly installed kitchen, installed and encasing a vent to the exterior for an in-unit washer drier, installed a built-in mirror cabinet in a bathroom, and installed a new, wider basement door. While they were there they ended up solving a variety of additional problems - temporarily removed some kitchen cabinetry and door trim to enable delivery of a new refrigerator, plastered and painted a removed cabinet area, strengthened the steps into my basement, etc. Throughout the process Michael and Tom communicated super well, pointing out options in how to proceed, made suggestions for sequencing of projects for better outcomes, kept us up to date regarding progress to completion dates, etc. They took meeting their commitments to completion dates super seriously, working extra hours and weekends when they ran into unexpected complications, and checking in with me to make sure I was happy with things along the way. I general contracted our renovations (what was I thinking...) over three months and observed and had personal experience with each of the contractors we used. Some looked great, and ended up being hard to work with, expensive and underdelivered. Michael and Tom were the opposite. While they may appear more low key and not as polished as some, they were probably the most effective, professional and responsible of all the people I hired. I am hiring them for a number of additional things. These guys rock - I recommend them to all my friends and neighbors.

They were very responsive to my messages on yelp. They also talked to my building manager to work out permits for plumbing. We had some miscommunication about the estimate but we ironed that out. They came to demo the old tile and then the problems started. First they were stuck at another job site, then they had another client with an emergency, so there several days when I waited all day for them to not show up. They did work late to finish the drywall and baseboards in time for the painters. The plumber who they contracted to do the vanity was great. I wish they had just told me from the start that this tile job was out of their league. Instead, Mike spent several days of hard work and long hours trying very hard but the result just wasn't great. He ripped out and re-tiled sections to try to fix it. , it just didn't work out with the tile, and I'm having to repay to have it redone.

We assumed it would take several days for him to complete the work, but he finished everything in one day and at maybe 1/4 the cost we'd expected. One of the original visit jobs was installing a railing on the basement stairwell, and when one of the screws loosened up a few months later, John came back the same day, worked on it for nearly an hour, and did not charge us a penny. YES, no charge at all! Who does that anymore, especially in Boston?!? Fast forward to today, years after we last called John. I asked if he could swing by for a few odd jobs during the next week or two. I described everything via text and included a pic of the house to jog his memory. Just a few hours later as I'm wrapping up work, John sends over pics of everything--FIXED! The invoice, parts included, is 1/3 the cost anyone else would charge. Just three reviews? This guy is Yelp's best kept secret right now. Despite his funny Scottish accent, I really can't say enough good things about John--he is best described as a handyman superhero. He's a reliable, trustworthy guy who works super fast, does great work, and actually has a great sense of humor to go along with his great Scottish accent. Hire him with the peace of mind that he'll do the job efficiently and at a very fair price.
