The estimate came way below the other 2 we got. We didn't go with them because if price.... but the initial inspection. The crew of 5 guys were amazing. They arrived at 8 and got right to work after setting up. No radios, no one smoking and no breaks till 12 noon. An hour tonthe minute they were back to work. We had an issue with wood roof members and I decided to re apply the entire roof with new wood. We weren't taken advantage of and still came below the other estimates. Clean up at 6 each night WS done in a manner you'd never really know they were there. When we needed the additional wood it arrived in time for the install. It used cheap glue, perhaps because the canal was submerged in water for a long time and started to loose after two years. At the beginning there were only two or three places, but later there were more and more loose and later, bubbles began to appear in many places. It turns out that the entire new replacement was not built to standard. It's very difficult for ordinary people like us to notice. Therefore, you need to consider this before choosing them.

The skylight leaked a month later and again we had to chase them to even get a response. Ignored our calls and would blow off set appointments with no communication whatsoever. Finally they sent two random guys, who didn't bring a ladder (roofers!) and had to use mine, and they charged us more money saying it was because of a mild storm we had. This never happened with our previous roof and was obviously to get out of honoring their fake warranty. Months later the roof leaks again, and again they're either ignoring our calls altogether or the shifty owner tells us a time then blows it off. Avoid this horrible scam of a business at all costs.

I called 99 twice to have the wall fixed, emailed them twice, and sent them two facebook messages asking them to fix their work. I explained that I was moving and that Monday would be better since I need to get it fixed. She insisted that he had to come on Tuesday, and told me that he had time to both provide an estimate and both fix the fan on Tuesday. I left work early in order to get home for Paul to arrive at 6:30 PM. He never showed up. I emailed Stephanie around 7 PM and she told me that her she had emailed me but "it must have gotten caught in her outbox", but that Paul had gotten caught up in the previous job and wouldn't be able to come. I explained, again, that I would be moving and needed this fixed. Stephanie told me she didn't know what I was talking about, that even if Paul could come provide an estimate he wouldn't be able to fix it. I responded back with a screenshot of Stephanie telling me he could both provide an estimate and fix it in one day. Stephanie then promised me that Paul would arrive at 6 AM the next day to fix it. I was very clear, again, with Stephanie that my movers were coming at 7 AM and he had to be on time since I was leaving. I got up super early to be ready for his arrival... and he arrived at 7:15 AM, an hour and 15 minutes late, as my movers were in the midst of moving. He did tell me what the problem was, but said he'd have to come back and fix it. I told him he'd have to coordinate with my tenant who was moving in. I connected Stephanie and Paul with my tenant. She scheduled two times for him to come fix the issue and both times, he never showed without notice. Finally my tenant emailed Stephanie and Stephanie responded that she no longer works for 99 Handy. I texted Paul twice last week asking him to please fix the gaping hole in my bathroom wall, and got no response. Please stay away at all costs. I don't know how anyone could possibly give them a good review. And Paul, please feel free to respond to my texts.

The companies I called were pretty close on their pricing. We chose Mass Gutters (Mark Richardson) because we liked dealing with a small business instead of a multi-layer corporation. Mark's employees were professional, courteous and enjoyable to have around our home. As with all construction jobs, there were unforeseen conditions that increased the initial cost of the project. The added cost was reasonable. The job was done on time. Shortly after the job completion there was a rainstorm and we had leaks coming from a skylight. Mark came down immediately and covered the skylight with a tarp to prevent any further damage. He felt that the damage was the fault of his employees and installed another skylight free of charge. We would definitely hire them again.
