Update: After John responded to my original review, I didn't receive a phone call from him -- instead, I got a private Yelp message in which he made personal comments and called me "nasty." He then sent me multiple follow-up messages insisting that he had refunded my husband and that my husband had given him gas money. This never happened. He's now even claiming we never paid the $600 for his service in the first place. Is he just a very convincing scammer, or has he genuinely lost track of events? I don't often leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience in the hopes of saving others from what I went through. I hired John to perform some straightforward body work on my vehicle. What I received instead was a troubling display of carelessness, poor workmanship, and broken promises. To start, the paint job (which presumably would have been the most straight-forward part of the job) was done without even bothering to clean the surface beforehand. As a result, dirt and debris are now permanently sealed under the paint, visibly marring the finish. It's not just unsightly--it's sloppy. Even more baffling, overspray ended up on the tail lights, a mistake that suggests a complete lack of attention or pride in the work. Somehow, he also managed to knock the trunk out of alignment--a problem that did not exist before. It now sits unevenly and no longer closes flush, which is as disappointing as it is frustrating. The fact that something as structural as this could be affected during cosmetic work is both troubling and telling. Perhaps most disappointing of all, he originally quoted a much lower price--a number that mysteriously tripled when he arrived, despite having sent him multiple photos to use for the quote. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and agreed, trusting that I'd receive professional service. That trust was misplaced. To his credit, he did acknowledge that the quality of the work fell short and assured me he would refund a portion of the cost. That refund never came. No follow-up. No accountability. It's disheartening to see someone treat their work, and their word, with so little respect. The specialist came to my location in lower Manhattan and was able to repair the dent quickly. He was also honest about the location of the dent and possibly requiring a more in depth repair for more money to get it perfect. We sent the company a picture/video as requested; we were given a quote that we were very satisfied with. The owner, John picked up the paint necessary to fix my dent and was able to come to me within 2 days. Had to get some body work done a couple months ago as I was moving soon and had gotten side swiped. Was quoted $600, soon as he came price almost tripled to $1500 to which I was unwilling to pay from other extenuating circumstances until we negotiated $1050. Quality did not reflect the price. There is overspray everywhere, paint difference is extremely visable, bondo wasn't even properly sanded and smoothed out & is very uneven to which he said it was normal. When I discovered the overspray the following day, I let him know and he said he would come by to clean it up. He was 30 minutes late and I had to leave asap. He did not remove all of the overspray at all, there is still some on and I've been stuck trying to remove it myself. In addition, his wife kept on trying to do readings on me for a price and have me purchase rocks. I was very naive and overwhelmed hearing this price and was extremely disappointed on how it looked afterwards. Only reason I am posting this review now is because the bondo literally fell apart in one spot and now I have to drop hundreds of more $ to fix this. Furthermore if you look at his recent reviews you will see I am not the only one who got treated like this, their are many other recent reviews of him giving a reasonable quote, then once he comes he will spout nonsense and proceed to try to milk your money for cheap work. Please take my review and other people's review seriously and do not go to him unless you want a poor quality job and drop 2-3x more then expected. this is an unbelievable story! I reached out to this gentleman on a Saturday morning. The people who clean my house parked precariously in my driveway when I pulled out of my garage. I hit their car. I felt very badly. They said don't worry about it, but I did. I googled dent repair. And I got John's information. I texted him on Saturday morning about 830. He was in Queens. He was at my customers house around 11 AM. Fixed the project perfectly was extremely reasonable and did not know who I was or how he would get paid.
