We tried to stop by to get their towing help, one of their truck drivers tailed gated us all the way in, rage honking at us and then when we finally stopped he got of his cab and came and physically confronted my family yelling at us until we left. This review is of the office lady ONLY. I have no issues with the tow staff or how my car was handled. The office lady gave the absolute WORST service I have ever experienced. The lady that runs the office is so rude I have never been talked to the way she talked to my husband and I. She audibly YELLED at my husband to step out of her office when he literally only had one foot in her doorway and was just asking about the process of getting our belongings out of our car. I don't know what kind of business you are running but she needs to go if you ever want to have any customers. Aside from being extremely rude to us I also witnessed her yelling at two other men who came by inquiring about something. She said "EVRYTHING GOES THROUGH ME" and then she flipped her tone and told them to have a nice day. Bi-polar much? My husband and I were extremely respectful the entire time and never raised our voices or gave any attitude. We couldn't believe how we were treated. The ONLY reason this place has any business is because of whatever agreement they have to tow after an accident. NO ONE WOULD CHOOSE THIS TOW COMPANY BY CHOICE. This review is regarding the 21880 Donner Pass Road location. On 05/04/2024 due to the unexpected snowstorm, like other motorist, I was trapped on I80 leaving Reno. After being on the freeway over five hours and CHP clearing paths, I knew it was best to try and get off the mountains before dark. I saw the Five Star Towing & Transport tow truck and spoke with Isabel about using their services. Yes, I expected for the charge to be a little more than usual. However, $770 to tow a car less than 30 miles "Unbelievable". The price gouging is ridiculous to say the less. I will say, the service provided by Isabel was a blessing. This young lady handled the weather conditions like a true champion. I was recently in a car accident and suffer from PTSD. Isable had no acknowledge of this yet, she asked several times how I was doing and even apologized for the weather (something out of her control). She deserves her own towing company as the effort she placed into keeping a stressful situation calm was much appreciated. One star for the towing company but 10 stars for Isabel. read more

If I could give a -10 rating I would. The lady who answers the phone is really rude and disrespectful when I asked a very general question. I had a 3rd person on the phone and they heard the whole thing. She got very abrasive and sassy as if u had been arguing with her for like 30 mins. It started immediately when she answered the phone.the call only lasted 1 min and 32 secs. Like if you act like that, then seriously reconsider your job because clearly you hate your life and someone pissed in your life of cherrios. I said nothing wrong, but try and understand why something was like that and just ask questions. I wasn't rude, I didn't yell at her, I didn't give any attitude. I was asked to help recover a dead horse from a wrecked horse trailer that was taken to the 5 Star Towing impound lot in Soda Springs on 11/4/22. The owner of the trailer had been up at the lot on 11/5/22 in the early afternoon and had informed them I was coming in a few hours. When we got there at 4:45 PM, the lot was locked, and I called the number listed on the building. I ended up speaking with the office manager who was the most difficult and offensive person you could imagine. She demanded that I pay $2000 to be "allowed" on the property (the outstanding tow bill even though insurance was going to pay it) and I had to present a notarized letter from the owner stating I was allowed to recover their horse. When I questioned why they had not mentioned any of this to the trailer owner who had just been there two hours prior she became very agitated and began threatening me saying she would "ban" me from their property. I then called the trailer/horse owner and he stated that none of this was ever relayed to him when he was there. I ended up returning to Reno. I went back up the next morning after the trailer owner had to threaten suing 5 Star if they did not allow the horse to be removed. Once at their yard at 9 AM, I ended up meeting up with the original tow truck driver (Billy) who had been at accident scene on 11/4/22. He was the MOST helpful person you could imagine! He went above and beyond helping me recover the horse and waited while we removed the personal property of the trailer owner from the trailer. Billy is an exceptional asset to the company whereas the office manager was one of the most abrasive and obnoxious people I have dealt with in many years. I would have rated 5 Star much higher if I had not ever had to deal with that woman that runs the front office. They would do themselves a serious favor by firing her and replace her with someone that is cooperative and has a degree of compassion when people are in a very difficult and emotional situation after the loss of a loved family animal. read more
