If you are new to CA and new to the whole smog testing- make sure you get what you NEED. If you are switching to CA plates, make sure you get the smog certificate and not just the check. Otherwise you'll find yourself back again to for another check! Smog check prices here are $51.75 plus $8.25 for the certificate. Should have checked yelp first. So the husband sent me here because of the previous guy.... First off this place is not easy to find , what caught my eye was the sign SMOG TEST!!! turn left now!! Went in place was completely dead... Last experience with them. They give you a coupon to pay less, you think it's a good deal but it's not ! So you pay a first time, then they tell you something is wrong, you have to come back to finish the test. And they charge you a second time when you come back! I stopped by yesterday and asked if they do smog on a Motorhome Sprinter van, they said yes. I asked how much and was quoted $70 including the certificate. I also mentioned that my vehicle was a 24 foot motorhome on a Sprinter chassis. I was told no problem and they are open on Sundays till 4pm. Today, Sunday I brought my motorhome, A different technician did the paperwork and once again I asked what will be the total, He said $140. I argued that the day before I was quoted $70. His response was that although it is a sprinter van, a motorhome is $140. I told the tech that I was quoted $70 the day before and that the tech the day before knew it was a MH. This guy just wanted ti take me for a ride. I am a retired automotive professor and I know that it does not matter if it is a MH or not. What matters is the type of engine and chassis. Never received such bad , and sketchy service. I've brought my bmw Sedan and Lincoln suv for smog here , but when I decided to bring my older work commuter car I was treated very differently. The owner in the back was tampering with my car , uncovered the coolant cover and my car over heated and spilled all coolant out. If it was broken or uncovered it would have done that on the way there. When I covered it and spent money buying more coolant and came back he refused to run it again when he had clearly said he would do so. Instead of trying to fix the issue he began to cuss and claimed he didn't care , didn't need my business or my money, making it very clear how much he cares about his business and his customers.
